    Repaired and serviced gas insert

I appreciated the ease of scheduling this repair service (good reception/scheduling staff), and the serviceman Dwayne arrived right at the scheduled time. He did the repair and maintenance on my gas insert efficiently and expertly, and now it works and looks great! Thanks, Dwayne and Gasfix Repair!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Rochelle for your review and for using Gas Fix to service your Kingsman fireplace. As the office administrator, I try to be as efficient as I can to make booking easy for the customer. When a call comes in, I put the phone number into the calendar and it usually brings up past customer history so I already have the customer's name, address, phone number as well as the make and model of the gas appliance. Our service technicians call with an ETA and arrive prepared. Fortunately, your unit required no parts as Dwayne only had to repair the piezo wiring and thoroughly clean the unit. Should you require any service in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason, Office Administrator ~

    Pool Heater

Scott and Dwayne did an outstanding install replacing our old pool heater. I got quotes that were less but paid extra for Scott's expertise and knowledge. He was aware of all the updated codes for installation od Raypak Heater. The company had repaired our old heater and it limped along for 4 seasons. We first used their services on ajustments made to our indoor gas fireplace. They responded quickly and came out immediately to give us their quote. Not hesitate to use them in the future.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for choosing Gas Fix to have Dwayne and Scott install your new pool heater and having us service your prior pool heater. As we also provide warranty services for some of the manufacturers, our technicians are very familiar with the gas codes and how these units should be installed. We upgraded the install to include a check valve, bonding the other pool equipment and an indoor ventcap. Should you have any issues in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can typically book a service call with 24 to 48 hours. ~ Jason ~

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - EXCELLENT SERVICE for Pool Heater Installation

We have been using Gas Fix for several years now. At our last house, they have serviced and repaired our fireplace and also did the gas line and installation for the garage heater we had. We were always impressed that they called first to let us know when they were on their way. When we needed to replace our fan, they had the one we needed for our Instaflame fireplace on their vehicle. When we moved, we contacted them for a gas line for our BBQ. The technician installed the gas line, installed the BBQ and even converted it from propane to natural gas for us. We most recently used their services near the end of June when we needed to replace our pool heater. When I called the office, I didn't even need to give my name or address. Their administrator Jason found all my info just with my phone number and was already setting up my appointment with the general manager to provide a quote. They even matched the price on the pool heater from another company and even upgraded the installation for us to install a check valve and bond the other equipment. These guys are well prepared and organized. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scott and his team at Gas Fix.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Mr. L for your review and being a Gas Fix customer for eight years now. We appreciate your repeat business over the years and your recommendation for the excellent service we provide. We first provided service for the Instaflame HE20 fireplace. As we specialize in the repair and maintenance of gas fireplaces, our technicians carry over 300+ of the most common fireplace parts (and pool heater parts) on the service vehicle. When parts are required, we have those parts on the vehicle 98% of the time and complete the service call that very same day. When we needed to replace the ignitor and fan, we had them on the vehicle. As noted, we have also installed gas lines for the garage heater at your prior house as well as the gas line for your BBQ at your new house last year. When you called us this year, we were able to bring up your history with just your phone number. It does make booking calls more efficient when we already know your name, address and past service history prior to answering your call. Your prior pool heater was a Laars Lite that was about 12 years old. As we also specialize in pool heaters, we had a Raypak unit in stock for a quick turn-around. Since we do warranty work for a couple of the manufacturer's, we ensure that our installations are done in accordance with the gas code and the manufacturer's installation instructions. As noted, we installed a check valve and bonding wire ensuring an installation that is professional and to code. The warranty on the new Raypak is one year for both parts and labour. If you have any issues, please contact us and we will send out a technician at no additional cost to you. Should you have any issues in the future with any of your other gas appliances, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can also service furnaces, water heaters as well as the existing fireplace you have. Again, thank you for choosing Gas Fix. ~ Jason, Office Manager ~

    Do not recommend

last May (2018) we had Gas Fix come out to install a pool heater. They advised we needed all new gas lines as they were not up to code (despite being installed by certified gas fitter previously) we paid and had this done . After Gas Fix installed the unit they left - had to call them back as they failed to relight our pilot . About a week passed and we heard rattling in the unit. They would not come back out to look at it without charging us. The heater has worked one season. This Canada weekend we discovered there was a problem with the thermostat.. we called to see if Gas Fix would come out .. min price was $100 to come out . They also advised if it was the thermostat/ temperature sensor they would not honour the warranty (one month out of warranty), they would not recommend where we could get this part, essentially were no help to us . Customer service is TERRIBLE! Would not recommend this company to anyone ! They are happy to sell but not service or stand by their products !

    Poor workmanship, dishonest and rude

Gas Fix repaired a non working gas fireplace in my home by replace the Gas Valve for a total repair cost inc. tax of $1400. There was a consistent odour in my home which I had become nose blind to but was advised by visitors to follow up on. 5 months after the instal of the gas valve Union Gas confirmed a gas leak from the fireplace. Gax Fix attended, work order stated the leak was repaired, the unit was checked and confirmed no further leaks. 3 days later the odour was still present, Union Gas attended again and confirmed a leak from a difference part of the gas valve. Gas Fix attended again 4 days later (soonest I could get an appt) to replace the gas valve. I asked what they would do with the old gas valve and was told they would follow up with the manufacturer. I aksed for a refund of my original $1400 or some consideration for the months of leaking gas and the faulty part used. I noted that a new part should not fail within 5 months of use. I was denied any compensation. The technician did not do his job on the first visit - did not repair the issue and did not confirm a further leak even though that was clearly stated on the invoice. Poor workmanship and rude service. I highly discourage anyone using this company. They are not honest and do not stand behind their work or their parts.

Gas fireplace clean and check and bbq check

Had Dwayne from Gas Fix out the other day to clean and service our gas fireplace and bbq. Was timely, tidy, and did a wonderful job! Thank you! Will recommend this company to my neighbours!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Darrell for having Gas Fix service your Weber BBQ and Heat-N-Glo fireplace. Dwayne has been with Gas Fix for 10+ years and has been in the industry for over 30 years now. We can agree that he is timely, tidy and professional in the service work that he does for us. Many other contractors will just clean the glass but Gas Fix is very thorough in the clean and check we do on a gas fireplace. We vacuum out the unit and use an air compressor to get to those areas the vacuum cannot reach. We also check the electrical components as required as well as checking the safety on the gas valve, a carbon monoxide test and a draft test on the ventilation. Should you require any service in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason, Office Manager ~

    Pool Heater Replacement

We wanted to see if our old pool heater was worth repairing. Scott explained quite clearly why it wasn't worth doing so and provided a very competitive quote for the new heater. Within the week we had our new pool heater installed. Scott's knowledge and customer service are excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Janet for your review and for having Gas Fix install your new Raypak pool heater. Your prior heater, the Jandy LD250, required a new gas valve and possibly a new ignition control module. In some circumstances, it's just better to replace an older unit that requires a substantial repair with a brand new unit. When it comes to pool heaters (and gas fireplaces), Scott is the expert and the knowledge he has is unmatched by other contractors in the industry. Again, thank you for choosing Gas Fix or for your recommendation. Should you require our services in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason, Office Manager ~

    Heater Install

We found out our heater died Wednesday and Scott installed by Friday his service was great, he was very knowledgeable and on time great work, would recommend. them for any service.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Joel for contacting Gas Fix to service your Jandy pool heater. Unfortunately, there are circumstances when the best repair is to replace the unit. In pool heater season, we have Raypak units in stock for a quick turn-around when a customer's unit fails. We appreciate that you chose Gas Fix to install your new Raypak pool heater. As we specialize in the repair, maintenance and installation of pool heaters (and gas fireplaces), we ensure the pool heater installation is done professionally and to code as per gas code and manufacturer's specifications. Other contractors might not advise on things such as check valves or bonding wire but for Gas Fix, those are standard requirements for a proper install. Should you require any services in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason, Office Manager ~

    Incredible job.

Cleaned my gas fireplace. It had not been cleaned since we moved in 13 years ago. The technician was extremely tidy and did a fantastic job. My fireplace looks brand new. He advised me to get it done every 2 years which I am going to do. I highly recommend this company.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Roz for having Gas Fix service your Majestic fireplace. Many contractors will light the pilot and clean the glass and call that a cleaning. Gas Fix is much more thorough as we will vacuum out the fireplace and use an air compressor to get to those areas the vacuum cannot reach. We also put down a heavy cloth to ensure we keep the surrounding areas clean as well. With every fireplace we touch, we check the safety on the gas valve, do a carbon monoxide test and a draft test on the ventilation. Should you require any service in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason, Office Manager ~
