I had an 1940's dresser that I never used because it was scratched, smelled of mothballs and an ugly color. John is not only an extremely pleasant person but excellent at his craft. The dresser is gorgeous and wonderfully refinished - better than new, but still retains all of the originality.

Johnny refinished my total desk (more than 80 years old) and did a fabulous job! He was able to repair the many dents in it, refinish the wood to the original colour, and then redo the leather inlay on the top of it, plus do protective glass top. The price and timeliness was well within my expectations. Would highly recommend.

We had four large pieces, desk,table, antique clock and side tables re-furbished by John and his team. The work was excellent and completed in a timely manner. The new finishes and colour matches exceeded what we thought could be possible outside of the original manufactures specs. As a bonus, John is a very pleasant and honest person to deal with. Highest recommendation.

My dining room table was damaged because of a flood on the second floor that leaked down. And it's been needing refinishing for years anyway. So I came to Homestars and was impressed by all the great reviews for Johnnys Finishing Shop. They're well warranted. My table, about 70 to 80 years old, has seen some wear and tear over the years. I couldn't believe how great it looked after Johnny and his staff finished it. It looks brand new. I don't think it's ever looked better. And the chairs, sort of creaky and wobbly, are now rock solid. Johnny did an absolutely amazing job and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend his services. First rate!

Traditional dark/reddish mahogony tables (3) hadnt been updated in 30 years. Johnny and Rob were terrific to deal with including having me to the shop to play around w stain shades once the tables were stripped. End result is beautiful - I couldnt be happier. Tiimely, professional, and excellent craftsmen.

We hired Johnnys Finishing Shop to refinish several vintage/antique furniture pieces that suffered water damage as a result of the flooding here in Etobicoke in July 2013. John and his team did a remarkable job in restoring these family heirlooms. He listened to what we wanted and added his input based on many years of experience. In fact the furniture looks better than we could have imagined. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending Johnnys Finishing Shop.

We have hired John and his shop on multiple occasions (refinishing dining room set, dresser and washstand; building and staining new rails to match an existing bed; restoring a newell post in our hallway; and reupholstering a sofa seat). The work has consistently been of high quality and craftsmanship. In addition, when recently restoring two chairs in December on a tight timeframe, John ensured they were completed and delivered as promised for the holiday period. We will use the shop again and recommend it without hesitation.

I had chemical damage caused by an exterminator on the footboard and headboard of my bed. As well, there was a crack in the footboard. Johnny's Finishing Shop repaired all these problems expertly and efficiently. My bed looks brand new. Bravo!

I was extremely happy with the quality of work that was completed by Johnnys Finishing Shop. They were happy to do a sample door before the entire kitchen cupboard doors and drawers were refinished. On time, on budget. Excellent job.

Had my small white sofa repaired recently (front wooden support had broken) and am very pleased with the service and results! John was a professional and easy to deal with (communicated over email, phone and in person during the pickup and return). Price was great. They picked up and returned my sofa to my condo in Etobicoke at the agreed upon date and time. I was concerned my white microfiber sofa might get dirty in transport and they wrapped it for both transfers and it came back as white as it left :) Would definitely use and recommend for furniture repairs!
