    Takes-so-long for everything

    Moving in was a disaster. Made us sign a document that we wouldn't go to Tarion or they wouldn't let us in our home. It's been 2 years we still don't have Grass or a backyard.

    more and more problems, I've already listed a few earlier

    So we have had nothing but problem after problem with this builder. We purchased the home 3 years ago and have lived in it for just over a year and a half now. 14 months ago we noticed every time it rained water would pool at a corner of our house above the waterproofing membrane. The backyard has been flooded since then and does not dry out. We have sent countless emails to the useless customer service reps that tell you everything you want to hear. Fast forward 14 months to when someone finally comes to fix the issue and this might be a surprise but the problem was only made worse. They placed maybe a shovel full of dirt in the 3x4ft wide pool thats at the corner of our house and maybe about 7-10 inches deep, and then placed new sod on top and we were told it was fixed. Thank god it rained 2 hours after they left because the pooling was only made worse. This has been two weeks now that we have been trying to get them to come back and fix it and we get told someones coming this week then no one shows up. Then we are told it may take 2-3 weeks for someone to come back and now we are at the point of we will try to have this fixed this season. Company is a joke, they have their money now so what do they care. If your looking to buy a house stay away from these clowns unless you enjoy having a headache and problem after problem. Do yourself a favor stay as far away as possible

    New home build

    Terrible company to deal with. From a very sour older lady to buy our upgrades from to a delay on possession to some very poor workmanship. Having issues now with a very difficult very sarcastic customer service representative. Hassle all the way through this process. Poor customer service. Disgusting actually. Last house purchased from kaitlyn corporation

    complete joke of a company

    This has been the worst company and builder I have ever had to deal with. problems from missing upgrades to shower leaks and a rough in bathroom in the basement and everything else in between. Bathroom rough in was installed right beside the furnace and hot water tank which is fine but when we took a second look the clearance between the furnace and where the walls of the bathroom would be gave us a 12" hallway down the middle of our basement. After arguing with these people to have this fixed they finally came into fix it. The site super was extremely unprofessional in the way he spoke to me and my wife with his swearing and cursing. The furnace and hot water tank were in the wrong place but of course Kaitlin being the cheap builder that they are took the easy and cheaper way out of fixing the problem. We have had issues with water pooling beside our house with the level of water rising above the water proofing membrane. We have been contacting Kaitlins customer care since April about this and now finally in December we have gotten a response saying that the problem may not be fixed now due to the weather. Upgraded carpet that has pulled up and ripped that will not be addressed by Kaitlin when we bring it up to them, basement stairs are lose and extremely un-level, a concrete block in the basement that is 3.5ft tall a foot wide and 3 ft long that sticks out into the middle of a tiny basement(the excuse for this was " this is how we pour our foundations, there is no structural support in this block"), black fence was put up infront of our house that we were never told about, it was not in any contract and we were never told about it until the day we came home from work and saw the fence in our front yard. These are just some of the problems of dealing with Kaitlin. Items that were on our PDI that were suppose to be fixed and completed by September have still not been addressed and trying to deal with Tara or Peggy in Kaitlins customer care is impossible, it takes weeks and sometimes months to get a response to a phone call or an email. If I could do this all over again I would stay as far away as possible from these people as possible. Do yourself a favour if your thinking about buying one of these homes and stay far far away its nothing but a nightmare and disapointment.

    New home in Bowmanville, On

    When we decided we needed a larger home for our growing family we first looked at houses available for sale but quickly realized that we would need to build our home so we could have the finishes and options we wanted. We had some very specific requirements. We first chose a Kaitlin home because they had the best layout in our price range. The design was efficient and maximized the use of every square foot without a lot of the wasted space that we were finding in most of the available models. Our very specific requirements resulted in over $70,000 in upgrades, which is what we expected. With the assistance of the Kaitlin design team we were even able to modify the second floor plan to better suit our family and children. While we were often overwhelmed by all the choices and decisions that we had to make the Kaitlin sales and design team were very patient and helpful at the front end. The house was finished 1 month later than the original date which we felt was fair given all of the additional features that we had chosen. I will not try and tell you that the house was perfect when we moved in but I can tell you that every one of our concerns was acknowledged, addressed and resolved to our complete satisfaction. The Kaitlin customer service staff, from their office to their onsite handy men, were amazing and again very patient with us. The handy men were friendly and polite and our 4 children now know them by name and still wave and say hi if we see them in the neighbourhood at other houses. I have spoken with many home owners in my area that have had houses built and all of them that built with another company have some sort of horror story that was never resolved to their satisfaction and I am glad that I did not have to endure the same. We now have an amazing house that we will spend many wonderful years in. I would highly recommend Kaitlin as a builder to anyone looking for their dream home.

    Builder failed to warranty poor quality work

    The builder promised to provide a letter that would guarantee that the remaining items on our Tarion Warranty would be repaired to "our satisfaction". They failed to provide this and now the time has expired. They are now saying these aren't warrantable items. A cracked concrete slab on the front porch, my upstairs carpeting was done with remnants and my stairs are a mess. This was supposed to be a "premier community" with "luxury living" I would never recommend this builder.

    Stay Away From Kaitlin to have a peaceful life /peace of mind

    STAY away from Kaitlin, they will give you nightmores, Out closing was delayed just 1 week, on the PDI we almost had 5 pages of issues but the Municipal inspector Ok'd the occupation.on PDI day we had no kitchen counter tops,Moving staircase,no exhaust fan and etc... They charges me 200 per day for the week and even charged me on the closing day as well,. when we moved in to the house there is no Tap attached to the kitchen counter all there was a big HOLE for the tap. we moved in on the Friday so until Monday there was no tap and we had to use the water from bathroom and ate outside. City has done absolutely nothing with my complaint. Kaitlin charged me 1000 extra for me to upgrade my AMS from 100 - 200 and on PDI told it was completed,found out it was only 100AMS and they had to come back and change it. Insulation was supposed to be 7inch as per agreement they had empty places and there isnt any place the insulation was more than 4inch. still going thru night mares!! first and will be my LAST deal with this Company!

    New home build

    14 days before closing after a two year wait we are delayed by 10 days and left completely homeless with a two year old. Not to mention that it is going to cost us thousands etc in moving costs and hotel stays. This builder is known for this, but since tarion hides these types of issues there is no way for a consumer to make an informed decision. Kaitlin group was unapologetic and basically fluffed off my complaint by saying they were doing it to other people too.

    new home purchase in Bowmanville

    Worst customer experience ever from a builder - Closing was delayed 3 times, the last delay was within 10 days of closing. Screwed up my financing completely. The bank had to extend the mortgage commitment twice. We had a slight delay in funding the mortgage - the funds came in late in the afternoon of the closing date. Our lawyer asked for a delay of 1-2 days to close, and we were shocked when the response from the builder was: you have to close today or your client will lose their deposit!!! our lawyer has never seen a response like this from any builder and he does hundreds of closings. Such disregard to the customer should never be tolerated by anyone! they are the ones who created the problem by delaying the closing and they threatened us to take the house from under us in the 11th hour and keep our deposit. not to mention 47 defects on the PDI list! very sloppy workmanship. I would advise to anyone to stay away from this builder and look elsewhere to a company that treats the customer with some respect.

    New Home build

    Bought from Kaitlin almost 2 years ago, and endured 4 delays in our home being ready, It was going to be ready just before the Holidays and I get a call yet again pushing the house back 4 days. Keep in mind we endured three previous delays. Also notification on last delay was inside the 90 days and was extremely inconvenient since we put our lives on hold for almost two years for this home, Kaitlin was not very flexible with us when we needed to delay one time keep in mind we endured four of their delays. The resolution was if we did not like it we could appeal to Tarion for compensation. Extremely poor customer service and inflexible even though they broke the contract rules on notice given, they expected us to be ready to close when it was convenient to them. What a nightmare of a company to deal with!! My advice to anyone looking at buying from Kaitlin as a new build make sure you can be flexible on closing and do not expect good customer service.
