When I first called I inquired about having the driveway sealed, as it was really looking its' age, but after the guys came out to give me an estimate, they recommended it be re-paved instead. At first I thought they were just trying to make more money, but I'm so glad I followed their advice.. it looks like a completely different drive way, and now all the neighbours are asking who did it. I highly recommend Ludwig Paving.

Based on Homestars reviews I contacted Ludwig and William gave me a call back quickly. William was a great guy to deal with and gets an A+ in my book for his knowledge, honesty and fairness. He was onsite both for the prepping and when they came to finish the job. All of the guys who did the work were very friendly and professional and did a fantastic job on my driveway...excellent service and finished product. The cost was a little higher than others but the reviews for the other companies were terrible...again proving you get what you pay for. Ludwig Paving is highly recommended by me.

I needed to get my 6-car driveway repaved. I was also getting my front walkway done with interlock from another company. The interlock went down the sides of my driveway and was also placed at the top of my driveway (about 3' worth). I called Ludwig to handle just the tearing up of my asphalt driveway and putting down new asphalt. The estimate was comparable to others I received and I made my decision based on the reviews I had seen on the HomeStars site. William Robinson was my estimator and he arrived when they came to rip up my old driveway. He explained everything that they were doing. The team was quick, neat, and efficient. We set up a time as to when he was going to come back. In the meantime, my interlock landscapers came and laid down the brick for my front walkway and the edge of my driveway. When they were getting close to being done, I received a surprise call from William saying that enough time had passed and the driveway was ready to be paved. It worked very well for me. The day my interlock team was putting the final finishes to my interlock, William came out with the Ludwig team and proceeded to lay down the asphalt. They had to contend with the interlock, which they did beautifully. Once again, William explained exactly what they were doing. I was impressed with the work. They came early, worked quickly, but made sure the job was done right. I will have to wait six days before I can move my cars onto the newly paved driveway. I will be reporting back to this site if there are any future problems. I can't see any problems as the job was done well! Highly recommend this company.

Ludwig Paving replaced our driveway (asphalt) and front walkway/stairs (English cobblestone pavers). The front of our house now looks great from the street, but more importantly, it's easy to see the attention to detail and quality work that was done when you have closer look. Levelling our driveway was not an easy task as we have an issue with tree roots - Joe and his team didn't hesitate to use as much fill and asphalt as was required to make things level and ensure our driveway (which was quite sunken) was even with the edge of our garage floor. The pavers used in our front walkway were beautifully positioned and care was taken with the finishing details (i.e. working around a support post; curvature of the walkway; quality and placement of the edging; levelling the stairs and path; ensuring appropriate slopes for water runoff etc.). The front of our house was left clean after construction -- no garbage left behind. Both Joe and his administrative team were very responsive to any messages we left or concerns we expressed during the planning. Joe listened to what we wanted and followed through with our requests. After the job was done, Joe sent us pictures of the work in progress, highlighting what was done and why. These helped confirm what our overall impression already was -- that we received high-quality work that will stand the test of time. Ludwig's pricing might not be the cheapest quote you will receive (although it certainly won't be the most expensive one either) but the old saying "you get what you pay for" is absolutely true. We've already called Joe and asked him to come by and provide us with an estimate for our side path and patio for next Spring. Many thanks for a job well done!

I searched Homestars site for the top-rated contractors, having had success with the site before. Joe offered a fair price, and an excellent job. While we had to live thru days that were too hot to pave this (early) summer, Joe communicated constantly, with quick and thorough replies at all times. His team is highly professional, they show up exactly when they say they will, and they clean thoroughly throughout the job. We tried spending more, asking Joe about doing a brick and stone border around the driveway, and though this would have created a greater sale for him, he strongly advised us against spending this extra money, due to the winter/spring freeze/thaw that we experience so much in this climate. He explained that long-term, in our Canadian winter-climate, it is not a wise investment. We listened to his advice, and we are happy that we did. For his professionalism and skill-level at getting the job done thoroughly and on-time, we very highly recommend Joe and his team at Ludwig.

We looked at a couple of different options when we needed to get our driveway paved. We looked at concrete, interloc, and asphalt. Trying to find anyone who has good knowledge in this area seems to be hard. No one would listen to my requests for what we wanted, which was compressed 1.5 Inches of road grade asphalt and then 1.5 Inches or driveway asphalt. We also didn't one of those companies that comes rolling through neighbourhoods and gives you a cheap price because they are doing a bunch of houses at once and do them very quickly and poorly. They delivered! With that, they also dropped in 10 Inches of base in order to make sure the asphalt was solid. No complaints at all. With the amount of rain we've had, I can see the grading is done properly and it all runs down the driveway properly. Now we have a long driveway. Its approximately 16 feet wide by 70 feet long. They called to say they were running late and showed up around 12:00 and took approx 4.5 hours to finish it off, from curbs to asphalt and everything in between. I can't recommend these guys enough. If you need a driveway done, it might cost you more to get these guys to go it, but its worth it. It makes more sense to have a driveway that will last you 20 years by paying the money once, than it is to have to get it repaved multiple times at a cost thats much more.

Joe and his crew were on time both days his service was required. They worked efficiently and did a great job! My new asphalt and interlocking looks great. I had a few other companies quote the job and Joe was the only one that did not try to sell me on more work. He was honest and reliable. I would highly recommend Ludwig paving. Thanks Joe!

After reading reviews about Ludwig Paving on this website we called them in for an estimate to repave our 20 year old double driveway. William, the Estimator arrived on time and was very good at explaining the process. And both times his team arrived promptly to complete the 2 step process. Every team member was professional, courteous and hard working. And William was always at the job site to answer any questions or concerns. Great customer service. We were very happy with the work done and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Thank-you Ludwig Paving. Great to deal with people who understand and offer a top quality product and great customer service.

William the estimator is genuine, knowledgeable, punctual, and trustworthy. The crew was professional, tidy, quick. Did a fabulous job with attention to the details. Little pricier but its worth it.

After getting quotes from 3 paving companies, and then reading about the horror stories that others had with those companies, I came upon Ludwig Paving Co. on Home Stars. I contacted them and there was no looking back! William came to estimate and explain the service that I would receive. He was punctual, friendly, extremely knowledgable, and committed to assuring me I would be satisfied with the work. Well, every cent was worth it. The excavation and paving were flawless. (The white custom made curbs were not done by Ludwig Paving. After the excavation, the curbs were made onsite by ProTech Curbs, and then followed by the precise paving job by Ludwig Paving.) The team of pavers from Ludwig are A-1. The job was done on time, and was flawless! In fact, if a driveway could be considered gorgeous, it was that! William was here for the whole process and it was evident that the whole team strive for perfection. The job was done in July 2012 and I know that THIS driveway will last for a very long time.
