I was desperate when I searched the internet one night in frustration. I came across reviews on Rick and have left a voice message. Within 2 days Rick called me, and we took it from there. Eg, he has squeezed me into his busy schedule, and has transformed my bedrooms and hallway like magic. I am still very impressed at the awesome work he and his team had performed. Neat clean work. They were fast and efficient. The cost was mind blowing. eg. far economical than previous quotes. I strongly recommend McLaughlin Flooring Installation. Just ask for Rick, and honestly, you will be glad you did.

Last summer Rick and his team re-floored two rooms of our house with hardwood flooring. They did a great job, so of course I wanted them back to re-floor the kitchen this year. The existing floor was super cheap laminate, which was covering up 40 year old stick-on tiles. So there were some layers to remove before they could get to the job of laying sub-floor. This house is over a hundred years old, and nothing is level or straight anywhere. (Except the floors that Rick has done!) There was one particularly problematic area in the kitchen, where the floor was about 1.5 inches below level. I had a couple of other contractors in to quote on the floor. One said it was impossible to fix. The other said all he could do was pour self-levelling cement in the corner and hope it didn't run off somewhere it shouldn't. (OMG). But Rick wasn't afraid to take on what these other guys saw as "impossible". He's an artist when it comes to levelling up floors, and arranges the shims in various intricate ways to accommodate the rise or fall of the floor. He does really good, detailed work, as you can see from the pictures. It's really excellent to have a level floor now! Between last year's and this year's re-flooring projects, I've had 4 different quotes besides Rick's. Most of them wanted to just slap down new floor on top of old floor and then charge a lot for this service. Rick gave me a detailed quote on a complete job, no half measures, and still came in below the others. He ripped up old floor, laid new sub-floor, levelled it all up, laid the new flooring, then installed quarter-round or baseboard as required. Plus the team did a perfect job of installation. Nothing sloppy. All corners tight and straight. Then they cleaned up everything when they were done, including sweeping up inside and out. They arrived precisely on time at 8am, and were completely done by 530pm. Rick is a stand-up guy, straight forward and trustworthy. The guys who work with him (including his son Jordan) are decent, hard-working, talented and professional. I highly recommend this flooring company's services!

McLaughlin Flooring was our final choice after reviewing 3 quotes. The reason we went with them was because Rick was straight forward and honest. More importantly he was flexible and had a solution for any issue we came across. The floors and stairs look great! Rick and his team was a pleasure to work with. Rick's goal was to ensure we were happy at the end, which we were. Would have no issue using him again.

Rick and his team did a fantastic job ripping up our old floor and installing the new one. The job was done as promised and on time - even accommodating us with tight timelines. He guided us through the process, providing expert advise when we needed it and was patient with us as first time home owners (and renovators). McLaughlin Flooring, Rick, Attila, Thomas and Laszlo did an amazing job on the hardwood and trim throughout my home (main floor - living room and dining room, upstairs - hallway and three bedrooms). Rick was punctual, reliable and very fairly priced. The crew, Attila, Thomas and Laszlo were meticulous with their work, from laying the hardwood, to transitions, stairs and trim! Clean-up was fabulous - could not tell any major work was done! All boxes and scraps were removed, as well as clean- up of the work area outside. I have had so many compliments on the workmanship of the crew. I would definitely recommend McLaughlin Flooring to anyone considering new hardwood.

Extremely happy and impressed with their work. We had hardwood installed throughout our main floor and on our staircase. They were on-time, on budget and completely professional. Would recommend them and work with again in a heartbeat.

Rick and his team were professional, thoughtful and expedient. We had many challenging room transitions. Rick provided insightful suggestions and executed perfectly. He was also flexible and worked within our tricky renovation schedule.

What a breath of fresh air Rick, Jordan and their crew were! We were faced with having to replace our hardwood floors as a result of some very careless Kitchen contractors and were so skeptical to have yet more trades in our home! My husband grilled Rick about exactly what would be done, how long it would take, and how much mess they would make. True to his word the team, including Steve and Andres, took out two levels of old flooring and did a beautiful job of laying our new engineered hardwood. They indicated it would take 3 to 3-1/2 days and were finished and cleaned up in 3. We also requested they start and finish earlier than normal (because of my husband's work/sleep schedule) which was no problem and they were on time each day. A very professional crew!

We are extremely happy with the job Rick and his crews did redoing our main floor flooring. Rick and the guys were very professional, courteous and punctual as well as very approachable. The first "wrecking" crew arrived on time on the Monday and within 1.5 days they had the entire existing floor, including kitchen ceramic tiles. That was a big job and I was quite impressed with the alacrity in which they did it! Next, the second crew came in to start laying the floor and were done in a couple of days. Lastly, the fine tuning crew arrived to do the fine work of baseboards etc. On all accounts, I highly recommend McLaughlin flooring to do your flooring job, and a good one it will be. We still walk around staring down at the floor amazed at how great the floor looks and what a great job they did.

Rick gave me an itemized quote breaking down the scope of work and timelines. His team was very professional, blocked off my main floor to limit dust. Rick even helped me move one of the floor registers to a better location. We have to replace the wood on the main floor of our house, so we'll be calling back Rick and his team to do the work. The one thing I can say with Rick is that he has integrity. You always run into hidden surprises in these old East York Semi's and Rick pushed through the surprises without charging extra.
