    Replacement of clay pipes

We had just moved in when I had New Canadian come in to give me a quote on our main stack - to inform our insurance company of its age. They were happy to write a letter for me and also drew my attention to the fact that our 100 year old house likely had clay pipes and that those clay pipes were likely messed up by the tree in our front yard. They told me that the city had a rebate for fixing that, but that the rebate was on the review table - i.e. could disappear. New Canadian fixed our pipes the next day and we got our rebate in the nick of time. I was so thankful that they were aware of current events and how they impacted their clients.

We had a blocked drain before going away. Draino, etc was no help. Called these guys when we returned and they responded in an hour. The drain must have resolved itself and they did not charge for the visit. Really nice plumber. Earned a customer for life.

    Backwater valve installation

I recently had my sewer drain back up for the third time. I called NCDP, they sent their tech over to scope the drain. We discovered there to be routes had infiltrated the pipe. Rami S. the service tech, quoted me at a competititve price of $1800 to replace the section of the pipe and install a back water valve. Him and his crew came over two days later and completed the job, This entailed cleaning up after themselves. I am happy wth the price as a competitior deemed this to be a good deal. Thanks NCDP!

    Repair leaking shower faucet

We have a Symmons Temptrol shower faucet that has been a leak problem since we moved in almost 4 years ago. I'm generally a do-it-yourselfer, and started by replacing the spindle. That fixed the leak for a couple of months then it returned. Some research suggested I also needed to change the hot and cold seats so I got a full set of spare parts and gave it a try. The seats were so tightly stuck, I couldn't get them loose and didn't want to risk serious damage to the faucet or water connections through the use of brute force. I finally decided to call NCD&P hoping they had experience dealing with this type of problem. Plumber #1 showed up the next day right on time. He had no knowledge of, or experience with, the Symmons faucet. He started the repair couldn't remove the seats either. He suggested one of NCD&P's other more experienced plumbers might be able to fix it, so we scheduled a second appointment the next day. Again, plumber #2 showed up right on time. He also had no knowledge or experience with the Symmons faucet - thankfully, due to my past attempts, I helped 'walk him through' the process, shifting to his expertise when the stuck seats reared their ugly heads. He suggested torch heating to try to loosen, but warned this could crack the faucet housing. I authorized him to proceed (without replacing the seats, I'd have to replace the entire faucet anyway), and he started with his torch - success! Between the two plumbers that came out, they spent close to two hours here, and even with the second visit and the compliations they held to their originally quoted price. My only issue with the whole process was NCD&P's unfamiliarity with the Symmons faucet and my need to provide a walk-through of how to disassemble/reassemble it - but to be fair, my understanding is that this type of faucet isn't common in home installations. In the end, with my input and direction, the leak is finally fixed and I expect it to last.

    Leaking kitchen faucet

We have a Moen faucet in the kitchen that started leaking. Maybe not a big plumbing job but a big nuisance for us. I usually call the plumbing company that services my condo, especially as they give a 2-year warranty. This time, I took a chance with NCDP. I am so glad I did! I phoned in advance and talked to a plumber - Khem Bohora, who patiently listened to my description of the problem and just as patiently explained what can be done. The staff at NCDP sent Khem, just as I asked them; told me within 30 min when he would be coming, and phoned later to ask if he can come earlier. Khem showed when expected, worked efficiently, quietly, without a mess, and, at the end (and this was not long after he started), told me exactly what he has done and why. And by the way, you can get someone from NCDP talking to you at 7 am! All NCDP staff were very professional and Khem was a delight to deal with. I hope their boss knows it!

    Answer from pro:

Replacing broken waste pipe and clearing blockage

Recently had a drain backup, so called NCDP. Turned out that tree roots had gotten into old waste pipes, causing blockage. Work was scheduled for next day, and I was very surprised to see the crew on site before 8:45 am the next morning. The two workers they sent (Oleksiy & whose name I never got) are such good-natured and har-working men. They rarely took breaks, and worked all the way until past 8:30 pm that day. As they dug, we discovered new problem with the pipes, so they came back the following day to continue. From then on, they worked for a straight 15 hrs until the job was finished. Even when their supervisor suggested them to stop and come back the next day, they insisted on finishing up that night, just so that I can use the driveway ASAP. They left my house after 11:30 pm, even though they had another long day's work waiting for them the next morning. I am very impressed with their work ethics. In my opinion, they are the ones that makes NCDP a great company. I hope that this review will not only assist other home-owners in making decisions regarding their plumbing issues, but also gain Oleksiy and his partner some type of recognition from their supervisors and senior management from NCDP.

Connect city water and repair sewer pipe

During Aug 2011 I hired New Canadian Drain & Plumbing to conduct repairs in my 100 yr. old house in the Junction area. I found them to be prompt and professional. The work was completed on time and without added cost even though unanticipated work was encountered. I would recommend this company to my friends and family. It's good to know such a reliable service is available. Thank you New Canadian.
