Technician Brian came and met with us and accessed our entire ducting system in our century home, it was discovered that the system was outdated with the return air located on the outside walls and the heat registers located on the inside walls, which by today's standard is wrong and the system was not balanced, they returned on three more visits to reduce the depth of the ducts so that we would have some ceiling height in our basement, balanced the system to reduce cold and warm spots and to also install a gas supply line for our new gas fireplace in the basement. We found them courteous and very knowledgeable and I my self have referred them to several of my clients who need work done on their homes.

Northwood did a great job installing an air conditioning unit for us. They were fast, clean, friendly and helpful with all my questions. Northwood was the 4th HVAC contractor to work on the house (a 100 year old house with zoned forced air) and likely the only one who knew what they were doing. They will be the only ones coming back. Based on reviews on this site and having met a representative of Northwood at the Toronto Home Show in the spring, we hired them to have our air ducts cleaned and to have our AC unit serviced prior to the start of summer. In both cases, the techs arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. The place was left clean and tidy when they finished and we were very pleased with them on all counts. During his visit, the AC service tech had noted a couple of other items that needed attention, so we decided to have Northwood come back and take care of these items for us as well. I called them one week after the AC service was done, and then again a week after that, and one more time the week after that. After calling three times in the space of two weeks and leaving messages either with reception or on voice mail, we have yet to hear back from anyone at Northwood. After two very good experiences, we are now frustrated and puzzled as to why they no longer seem interested in doing business with us. We are planning on replacing our air conditioner next year, but after this rather bizarre experience we no longer feel confident that we would be able to contact Northwood in the event that follow-up service would be required,and, as a result, we will be seeking out alternate vendors. Very disappointing.

We tore down our old house in toronto, and built an entirely new one. We have hydronic floors, tankless, HRV, furnace, A/C, spiral ducts on our main floor. It is not your standard house and took a long time to renovate. Northwood was excellent. We never had issues with delivery, quality, payment and everyone is extremely professional. I have many contractor horror stories from my reno, but Northwood is one of the handful of contractors I would recommend. I would recommend Northwood hands down. They were awesome.

Gary and his team were really prompt in dealing with our request and did everything they could to get the system moving smoothly. We use this company for all of our heating, hot water, duct cleaning and a/c needs and have not been disappointed.

I could not have picked a better company to perform the installation, from the estimate to completion, Northwood has proven to me that they were the right people for the job. Michael was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning, and if Jeremy, John and Jian are indicative of the rest of their staff, then Northwood has a lot to be proud of. These are people who actually care about what they do and go the extra mile to make sure the job has been done right the first time. I can honestly say now, it's no wonder why Mike Holmes associates himself with Northwood. Thanks again Northwood, and please keep doing what you're doing!

Our problems started 3 years ago, when we moved into our new house. The "builder" first put in a furnace that was undersized for the house. Our house should have had 2 furnaces due to its size. We moved into the house in the winter and for the first 2 weeks I had my family (Wife, Son"2 years old", and Daughter"1 year old") were huddled the master bedroom with the fireplace and a space heater just to keep warm. The rest of the house was freezing. The builder did come back and installed a bigger single unit. We also purchased an air conditioner from the builder, when they installed it, they installed a low quality unit that we didn't buy and it was installed at the other side of the house that ends up being over a 100 feet away from the unit inside which cuts down it's efficiency. Once again, I had to go back to the builder to state my case in order for it to be rectified. The a/c unit that I did purchase is a large unit that requires a concrete pad and they weren't able to use the metal wall brackets. The problem at that time was they didn't finish the final grading off the outside and we had to wait to pour the concrete pad. Again, I had my family in one room of the house with a portable a/c unit in the middle of summer. We also bought a humidifier from the builder and again the one they installed was under sized and again had to plead my case for it to be rectified and purchase a 2nd unit, one on the supply and one on the return line. Every morning when the family woke up, our throats were dry and the humidity level was under 20. The house was very dry. After this was all done, the problem was still persisted. We got tired of dealing with the builder's HVACs Company and this is when we came across Northwood and right from the 1st phone call, I can see the difference between the 2 companies. We had 2 service techs come out, spent the day testing our HVACs system and made recommendation to fix the problem. Today we had Santos & team out to install hepa filter system, steam humidifier & programmable thermostat. Santos took the time out of his day to explain everything he was doing and why. His level customer service & professionalism should be the bench mark for every HVACs company to meet. In closing, I would like to say thank you to Northwood for making our family health their top priority.

After we moved in, we discovered a small gas leak and Northwood came in on short notice and fixed the leak lines. Subsequently they came in shortly after and did another job to updated the existing lines to bring to code. I found their work very well done with great attention to detail.

I replaced my 23 year old furnace and air conditioner with new York models. I had done a lot of research and got quite a few estimates from different companies before choosing Northwood. The job was completed within the two day timeframe and at the end of each work day, Jeremy and Mike cleaned and vacuumed my home before leaving. They were very polite and helpful when explaining how the system worked. I would like to extend a big thank you to Jeremy. He took the time to not only explain to me how to program my new thermostat, but did it for me. I am very pleased from start to finish with the service I received from Northwood.

Overall, we were pleased with the customer service focus of the representatives. Very patient, attentive and took the time to explain the options available. We would definitely recommend this company!
