Review from HomeOwner Review left on 4 Apr 2024Rating: 0 out of 5Horrible and very disappointing experience with Ridley Doors. From the start (December 11th) of selecting a door design we have had trouble with communication, wait times and clear estimate settings with prices for different door designs. The real trouble began after 2 guys from Ridley Doors came to measure the new side entrance door. We had a date set for the installation but when the installers arrived the door was too big and they realized that the measurements taken before were wrong. Apart from wasting our time and energy on the installation day and multiple communication with addressing the issue on their side as well as trying to get a new installation date and a new door made, we also had to shorten our business trip and worry about the door getting installed a day before our basement tenants arrived as it was for their separate entrance. On top of that they told us that we wouldn't get a door with 3 lock system anymore as the new door had to get cut down. We reached out to the owners and managers of the company but were met without an apology and no customer service whatsoever. The door did get installed on Easter Friday and the company made their installers go out and work on that day just so we could get the door in before tenants arrived. The installers were amazing though, attention to detail and very friendly. The product itself ended up coming with a 3 lock system but is flimsy as the French doors are wiggly when closed, for almost 8k I'd expect better quality. Beware! The stress accompanied with hiring Ridley Doors isn't worth it. We are renovating our home and so far have had good experiences with everyone else. I'd recommend a different company for doors!Review from David Berrey David Berrey

Almost 3 years later and they can't seem to complete a job...excuses after excuses, insults from incompetent people, with no end in sight.Review from Mike Mclean Mike Mclean

Having built a house, you learn what good product and workmanship really means. I had the good fortune of being recommended Doug from Ridley Windows. This is someone who takes pride in his business. I cant thank them enough for their patience and expertise. Its a great feeling to get it right and to have made the right choice. I whole-heartedly endorse this dynamic company, their products and staff.Answer from pro:

Beyond impressed from start to finish! The install crew was incredibly knowledgeable about the product and very professional. They were clean and organized. The job was done with immaculate detail and efficiency. The product we selected is outstanding and gave our house an impressive facelift! We now have more natural light and are more energy efficient – no more cold window drafts! Wonderful company, great client service and communication. We had all of our questions answered and concerns addressed. I would recommend Ridley Windows & Doors to anyone looking for the best in the window and door market.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 13 Oct 2021Rating: 0 out of 5Dreadful company; avoid at all costs!
Stay away from Ridley Windows!!! They installed product at our building in April 2016. Our General Contractor raved about them, said he'd never work with anyone else. Boy, do we wish we'd ignored him. The windows are too large for the openings. Since October 2016, they have leaked. It's a mini-Niagara Falls INSIDE, every time wind-driven rain hits the windows. The company refused to discuss refunds. We haven't said anything until now as we started an action against them. The Court has decided Ridley is not reponsible for installing defective product, so that's another reason to avoid this pestilential company. Your recourse may be limited. Now that particular court case is done, we are getting the word out. We have videos dating back to 2017. And, every time the windows gush, we make another video. (We'd happily post one but Homestars only allows photos not videos.) And, since there are SO MANY problems with the windows, we haven't ruled out further legal action. Again, you don't need Ridley or its products in your life. Look elsewhere. To see what we mean, check out the videos we have posted on YouTube and decide if it's worth the risk of dealing with Ridley. Review left on 18 Sep 2019Rating: 0 out of 5Awful people we actually had them remove the windows eventually
My experience with them was a while back but even after a number of years I still feel that I should share just how terrible these people were to deal with. At the heart of the issue is that they neither manufacture not do they install windows. The installer they hired dropped window and broke the frame. The Installer didn't want to pay for the window, neither did the manufacturer that said it had been shipped in good condition, neither did Ridley as it would cost too much to re-order. They (and the designer we hired) tried to persuade us to put up with a horrible fix. However the bad work didn't stop there: They insisted we didn't need a lintel (our Engineer said otherwise), they used a saw to literally cut through all of our bricks which made it harder for the next installer who said that a professional installer would have "teethed" the brick) The woodwork was so shocking literally plywood held together with a few nails!! . No insulation. Gaps where you could see daylight. Third floor window only held in with caulk (I was told the first time I tried to lean against it I would have ended up on the sidewalk. Literally the worst work I have ever seen. Ridley and the design firm argued the toss endlessly with us until we eventually insisted they remove their horrible work and went with Marvin (who were absolutely the BEST). Traumatising few months dealing with bullies.Review from Margot Margot

Just have to say a big thanks to Ridley. During a recent cold spell I discovered a problem with my large bay window that was installed by Ridley many years ago. I called them, Mauricio out to investigate and then a couple of days later Mario came out and fixed the problem at no charge. Great service and very pleasant to deal with. Thanks again to Diana, Marlene, Mauricio and Mario. Great job!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 2 Jan 2018Rating: 0 out of 5Expensive, Poor Customer Service, and Riddled with Errors
We had all of the windows for our Edwardian home replaced with Norwood wooden window. We dealt with Jeff Cairns throughout the process. He came to do the measurements before the order was placed. There were countless issues during the process and the details are shoddy. Not only that but two of the windows were mismeasured. One was eventually replaced but without a double sash. The other one (a $3200 triple pane window on the facade) was never replaced despite it having clearly been mismeasured and despite the fact that it didn't match the original trim work around it. We ended up having to redo the trimwork at our own cost. This is particularly absurd since this company claims to specialize in historical restorations and we had discussed the window in detail with Jeff. When we contacted him to discuss this and many other issues, Jeff was very rude and refused to assist. We spent countless hours escalating and going back and forth and they agreed to fix the more minor issues but, despite the management agreeing to resolve the issue, no one has contacted us since. I would avoid this company at all costs. They are rude, incompetent and don't stand behind their products.Answer from pro:
Review sites are very helpful and Ridley is far from perfect but we definitely go beyond that extra mile when something does go sideways on a particular project. As this site tells you we have had great success and we have had some challenges on projects. This particular review bothers us for a number of reasons: 1) The reviewer calls out a particular individual but the reviewer themselves stays anonymous 2) The reviewer states measuring errors but does not disclose that when a Contractor is installing the products it is their responsibility for final measurements, a Ridley policy which only makes sense considering they are installing 3) The Calling someone incompetent is beyond Rude, which is very humorous as they call us Rude! 4) It would be great to hear from this particular reviewer with how the entire process went and if they have had any difficulty with anyone else on the project, or everyone else???? Again, Ridley is far from perfect however please be cautioned that there are always two sides to every story!!!

The negative reviews here are correct. We had errors in colour, timing, measurement, design, price, YOU NAME IT. Often same error made multiple times. One window took over a year and four different people coming out to measure to get it right! What?!? isn't this your job? Then, no compensation for the issues and they were down right rude about being asked for updates on the situation. How far this company has fallen from what it once was.
