From beginning to end, all negotiations were very fluent and easy. Sandgate has a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge, and were very professional throughout the entire process. With experienced workers and various material options we were able to complete our project from initial planning to final result we had envisioned. Highly recommended Completed a full main floor renovation, they provided full engineering to final touches, new kitchen, built in tv space, and re designed entire main floor with their design experience.

MAIN FLOOR RENOVATION PROJECT We did it! We undertook a major renovation project during the pandemic restrictions. Thanks to Joe and the team at Sandgate Construction, the project was completed on time and on budget. You know that they have years of experience behind them; Joe's vision and expertise presented us with ideas we had not considered. After meeting with Joe and discussing our options, we agreed to undertake the project which included removal and replacement of all ceramic and hardwood flooring, replacement of a wall with LVL beam, popcorn ceiling removal and electrical and plumbing re-work to accommodate a new kitchen. The entire project was completed in less than 3 months from start to finish, minimizing the inconveniences with the entire main floor being under construction. The work site was kept as tidy as possible considering it was a construction site. Thanks to Shawn, Matt, Corey, and the rest of the team for a job well-done. Joes daily site visits ensured work was progressing as scheduled and ensured his crews had everything they needed to complete the work. This company charges money like they are high end but quality of work is no where near that. The subcontractors they used for flooring never installed floating floors before. My high end flooring is now chipping across their edges, it looks terrible! They also left the floor with several dents. Their cabinet company left different finishes on the same cabinets some gloss some flat, with nail holes covered in putty that’s totally visible. Worse cabinet work I have ever seen! The basement has only one heat vent for more than half the area, and fireplace is on wood panels that now show burn marks, making it’s use limited and the entire basement very cold in winter normally around 15 degrees celsius. We begged them not to use a stair company that installed our builders stairs that were so bad Tarion had them completely replaced without us asking. They still used them. They installed pickets on a slant, and had the nerve to argue when a level was put on them so show how bad they were. Wine cellar when looked at by actual wine cellar installers, was laughed at. Wrong door, wrong chiller unit (which vents into my basement not an exterior location), door not sealed, rubber lining added to inside of space not outside, etc. Yes the wine cellar company literally laughed at how bad it was! See photos, this project still has me upset at the wasted money.

We completely re-modeled our kitchen, living room, fireplace, walls, lighting etc. all during Covid! We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Sandgate Construction! Todd and his team were always dependable, respectful, on-schedule and on-budget! The workmanship, expertise and pride of skills were excellent. At the end of each day, the crew cleaned all of their supplies and vacuumed their work space. We were very impressed as this made our home more comfortable to live in during construction. Todd has an excellent design eye which was also very helpful on many occasions. We could not be happier with our “new” home and cannot wait to start entertaining! I have just finished my basement renovation with sand gate. I had gone through several contractor quotes researching this job, and went with Joe as he was the only one who actually listened to my asks and provided solutions to the work we wanted done. The job took 4 weeks to complete and we are very happy with construction effort, and the materials used. Everything was done on time and in budget. I cannot recommend Sandgate enough. Many thanks to Joe and his team for a Job very well done!

I was referred to Sandgate Construction to do two bathroom Renos and couldn’t be more pleased with Todd and his amazing crew! The crew showed up on time every day and left the house and their work area neat and tidy at the end of each day. Todd’s expertise and infinite patience guided me through everything from design to material selection. During the bathroom process I added a gym to the list which was very last minute and not only did they build it, Todd was extremely knowledgeable and helped us pick the right equipment! So many personal touches with this company, truly a lovely group of people. Thank you Todd, Nancy, Corey, Matt, And Mike you made the stress of renovations a really wonderful experience!

Home built in '82, moved in '99, when shortly after we put down hardwood on the main level. Other than that had been living the way it was back then, so it was time to open up space and replace everything on the main level, including the stairs. Todd was not only quick to come over and respond to my request for a quote, as he was the first one to arrive, but I was so impressed with our discussion I never sought out any other quotes as I had originally intended. Todd made great suggestions and accompanied us to when we ordered our kitchen to make sure it was done right. His main crew led by Mike was exceptional, and the work was done cleanly and professionally. I don't have anything else to say than recommend Todd and Sandgate to anybody doing any contracting work. Our next project for Todd will be upstairs to do the bathrooms but we need a breather now to enjoy our home.

Two walls were removed and replaced with lvl beams , kitchen demo and all flooring removed and popcorn ceiling taken out. New lighting and electrical and all plumbing hook ups etc. New trim work and painting and new fireplace place insert as well as fireplace surround. Also recapped stairs. Tile work in front hall and powder room.

Todd and his crew at Sandgate were amazing to deal with. Upon our initial quote with Todd he was helpful and had some great ideas that we hadn’t considered. They relocated a number of our pipes in the basement to allow for a better finish when we eventually finish it and removed our 2 small windows and replaced it with a wonderful egress window. They were very professional, fast and kept our house as clean as possible throughout all the work. We love our finished product and hope to work with them again in the future!
