We recently bought a home in East York that had a roof that looked like it would collapse. I could tell that not only was the roof gone, there were already SIX layers on it, but that the deck, joists and supports were also rotten by how it was sagging. I met Bob, the estimator, who arrived on time, explained clearly what needed to be done and presented me with an estimate after examining the roof. I had already had a quote, so was very pleased with his estimate. He told me when they could start work, which coincided well with when we wanted it done. Tim & his crew arrived when promised and completed all the work in a timely fashion. The work could not have been done in a more professional manner. Jerry gave a competitive quote and gave us options for snow protection and underlay we accepted. He also advocated Owens Corning Oakridge for its quality and value and provided a clear quote, and sure enough our research confirmed this to be true compared to lesser quality IKO shingles quoted to us by another company at a similar price. We chose to upgrade to Owens Corning Duration instead of Oakridge, of our own accord as we wanted the well reported nail strip design and better colour options for that upgrade. The job was done promptly and on time with no issues, with polite workers who cleaned up and honoured our request to leave room for us to park. I accidentally sent payment 200 more than I should, and the company without me knowing this or asking, sent me a cheque back for that amount. I am extremely pleased with the new roof that was just installed by Smart Roofing. I was impressed by the professionalism of the installation team and the job was completed in record time. They also did a thorough clean up of the premises be fore they left. I like the look of my new roof, and would have no hesitation in recommending Smart Roofing. Excellent company. We dealt with Bob Morgan for our new roof but before we had our roof installed, Bob was kind enough to come on the spur of the moment to help us with a broken and frozen downspout. Bob was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent advice on choosing the best shingles for our house. The installation crew were also very professional and respected our property as well as our neighbour's property. We would not hesitate to recommend this company.Answer from pro:

The roof installation went well and was installed as promised 2011 The colour of the roof and eavestroughs are very pretty. It goes well with the windows and is a Slate colour. They have a large selection of quality shingles. The workman are efficient and clean.Answer from pro:

Immediately after I posted the review, I was contacted by the company in an attempt to rectify the situation. I was compensated for the additional money that I had to spend to fix the issue. Happy that my concerns were taken seriously; just wish that this was the case back in 2014/2015. The roof job was completed as expected. In 2014, Smart Roofing replaced the existing roof on our home. In addition, the eavestrough was replaced. The existing downspout was changed to a 'Y' connector as it was a requirement by the city to disconnect the downspout from the sewer system. Instead of using or replacing the Y connector, the installer connected the new downspout to the sewer system. Over the course of 3 months I attempted to get Smart Roofing to rectify the situation. I was promised that they would resolve it when the weather was warmer. They did not follow through with their commitment and I ended up paying another company to fix the issue. Very disappointed with the lack of ownership by Smart Roofing,Answer from pro:
Our apologies for not being able to find the replacement part, we did however, look high and low for the "Y" Connector with a valve in it. We are very happy that you were able to locate one with the city and we had no problem compensating you for the money that you had to spend on it. We have always taken your concerns seriously but for such a small part we had extreme difficulty locating this connector. We know that you are very happy with the roof and eavestrough and we appreciate you being our customer.

Smart Roofing is fast, very professional and do top quality work at a competitve price. They delivered on time and they cleaned everything after the work. Even if it is hard to think positively about redoing a roof, we are very pleased to see how this work improved the look of our house!
