    Sterling House - our first choice for home furnishings

    Sterling House Interiors was recommended to us by our interior designer Dal Kaur (416-277-5313) when we were looking for furniture after our kitchen renovation. The bar stools we ordered arrived as promised and we are extremely happy with our purchase. Since our initial visit we have made subsequent purchases and have received wonderful service from both Peter and Cristina. Sterling House Interiors is now our first choice when we need furniture for our home. Thanks so much - we will definitely be back!

    Disappointed with customer service

    Purchased a few pieces from Peter - all great at the initial time of purchase after that your lucky you get a response. I have never been frustrated in the lack of good customer service . One example of this is waiting over 14 weeks for a kitchen table- i had to call them repeadidly for dates- but every time one was given it was WRONG! So, being a good customer i thought i would give them one more shot. Well well......$800 coffee table- has been returned twice already and not entire table- pieces???? Now i still have an issue with it- and instead of replacing the entire coffee table- again he wants to piece meal it! Never heard of such lame customer service. Its really too bad because they do have 1 sales associate that really is educated but her hands are tied. Just a note- great stuff on the floor - but lets hope you get the same when it arrives. As for my table- my husband and I opted out of another piece meal frustration and accept the table as it is. The sad thing is - they lost my business this time round for good.

Just to clarify you purchased a table that you viewed on our sales floor that had the antiqued mirro. Once you picked up the table from our store and scratched the glass you called to have the glass replaced. We gladly replaced it at our expense. You then called to complain about the dirty mirror (antique mirror). We explained that that was the look of the mirror which you contested. We showed you the table on the floor which has the same "issue". Unfortunately we are unable to open every table that we have instock until you find the one that is the most suitable, as per your request. We explained that all these tables have "antiqued" glass and it is not an issue. We even offered a refund/in-store credit which you refused. You claim you love the table but don't want the "antiqued" look. Its unfortunate that we were unable to satisfy you but we did everything we could to make you happy. If you wish to discuss you may contact me at the store.

    Custom sofa and chair upholstery

    Very disappointed. Yes Peter is a nice guy when you are making a purchase. We had ordered a sofa with ottoman. When the sofa was delivered there was no ottoman and it had not been ordered so that took an other six weeks. It took 15 weeks before we got our two chairs. After six weeks we started to call the store to see when we could expect the chairs. None of our calls were returned from Peter. I even spoke the the regional manager about the situation, he laughed said he would get back to me and like Peter he never called me back. This was a very upsetting and frustrating experience. Disappointed that making a sale is all that is important. No follow up or customer service is my comment to friends and family.

    Dining Room Chairs and Barstools

    Backstory: I hate shopping and buying items that aren't transparently priced. Purchase: I had been looking for over a year for decent dining chairs. Couldn't find anything. Walked into Sterling house on a whim and met Peter. He was my type of salesman -- the type that isn't really a sales guy but figured out right away what type of person I was and what I was looking for. I ended up buying Dinec dining chairs in leather and latex foam for an amazing price (I know because I went to every dealer in the GTA and Peter came out on top). Delivery: Price paid included delivery. No additional line item. Everything was delivered on time (literally the day before my big dinner party). Delivery guys were excellent and brought everything in the house carefully. We unpacked the boxes ourselves at our request. The awesome: Anytime I find a piece of furniture, I make sure to call Peter first. Sometimes he can get it, sometimes he can't. Sometimes he has an alternate. But he always tries. I wish I knew more salesguys like him but they are pretty rare.

    New Home furnishings

    My wife and I had just moved to our new home and needed furniture. Peter Gill and Sterling House Interiors made the experience a pleasant one. Superb help, top quality products, great price, and efficient timing with delivery and setting up. Thank very much Peter Gill and everyone at Sterling House Interiors.     Sectional

    I'm a returning customer to Sterling House. I recently purchased a sectional and the service was great as always. I was presented with a variety of styles and options to choose from which can be overwelming at times, however, the sales rep made it a very easy process for me. Sterling House has consistently delivered quality service to me over the years and I am very grateful for all their hard work in meeting my expectations and for going above and beyond each time. Thank-you!

    Ottoman

    My husband and I had been searching for this particular ottoman at a decent price. We were thrilled to find the ottoman with Sterling House Interiors. Unfortunately our experience was far from pleasant. We were told it would take 4-6 weeks for the ottoman to be in warehouse. We didn't mind the wait. But when I called to check the status of our order at 6 weeks, I was surprised to hear that it wasn't in warehouse...and they also had a number missing in my cellphone number. I would call every few days to check, and would be promised that they would call me back...and not. Finally I was told it was in warehouse and that someone would contact me for delivery time. No one did. Than I call back, arrange a time for shipping. But no one shows up! Not even a call to let us know they will not be coming. After all of this, I leave my husband to deal with this situation. He is than told by someone at the store that "they assumed the order came in, but was actually not shipped." Was promised someone would call him back on Monday to let him know. Meanwhile, at the same time he is on the phone with someone at the store, someone from head office calls to confirm our ottoman is in and ready for delivery. We did not get back to head office within the day since we were busy. But unexpectedly at 10pm on a Tuesday night, our ottoman is delivered. How disorganized can this company be? All of this mess over a $600 ottoman? On top of this, we received the worst customer service. Had we not wanted this particular ottoman so badly, we would have given up a long time ago and cancelled the order. I would only recommend Sterling House Interiors if there is a particular piece of furniture you want badly enough. Also if you have the time and patience to hunt down your furniture for weeks on end.

We really do try to make everyone happy and you and your husband were both very nice and understanding people and I am terribly sorry that you had to go through this.     Table

    I looked high and low to find some store that sold quality Canadian made furniture instead of the cheap imports. I am so happy I came across Sterling House. From start to finish my buying experience was exceptional. The staff is very honest, helpful and knowledgeable. They helped me select the perfect Table set . Great work Peter and Cristina.

    Solid wood Bedroom Set

    I had eyed this shop several times driving by the design center, but had never thought to stop inside. Well, I finally did this weekend and boy was I happy I did! I bought a beautiful bedroom set and I couldn't be more pleased. Karolina was very friendly and equally as informative! The transaction only took a matter of minutes and was as smooth as it gets. I did a walk-through of the store and can't wait to purchase more from them soon! They definitely have great quality items at fantastic prices!!

    Sectional

    Cristina & Peter took great care of us. We found the sectional we wanted and they ensured we got the price we wanted. Tip - time-wise - promise less, deliver more!
