Review from HomeOwner Review left on 3 Nov 2010Rating: 5 out of 5After calling around and getting quotes from about 5 different companies we decided to stop by the Stone Edge showroom. Everything felt and looked very professional from the staff to the business cards! The manager brought us to the back where we got to look at the actual slab we wanted (which is not always exactly like the sample pieces). We had a little trouble scheduling a templater to come in, but he did a great job, took his time and was there for a couple of hours. I didn't mind as I like the job to be done right the first time. Within a week the installers came to our house. Again, they were very professional, took the care and time to not dirty and damage our new floors and even vacuumed my kitchen floors. Veena was a pleasure to deal with (sales) and answered all my questions in a timely manner. We were originally wanting 1" tops, but she convinced us to go with the 2" top which we are glad we did as it looks and adds so much to the kitchen. The finished product was outstanding and I would highly recommend this company to anyone I know. Great job and thanks for our beautiful countertop.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Aya kitchens recommended Stone Edge for the counters as they had worked with them. Aya got a quote for us on Quartz from them and we went to the showroom to select the colour. They were helpful in selecting colour to match our cabinet, floor. The order was placed and the templating was done as soon as the cabinets were in. The counter was ready in about a week for installation. I had difficulty getting a time for install from the co-ordinator who did not return calls, but finally the installation crew came. It is a good thing I was there watching, as the 2 young guys started shimming the counter, so it was not parallel to the cabinet on the exposed face, as the cabinet was not 100% level. I had them shim on the face against the wall instead, so it was not noticeable. One end piece enclosing the stove also had been measured incorrectly and they had installed it so it protruded past the counter edge on the other side of the stove. I had them remove it and cut it down to size. The finished product looks fantastic though, and the other elements of the install such as the undermount sink they supplied, the seams and the finish were excellent, and they were neat and clean.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Decided to go with this company due to the "Home Show" special. A terrible mistake. Placed our order in April for a June installation and was told it would take 7-10 business days from the templating date to be installed. We set up a date for the templating, took a day off work as someone needs to be home during this time. The date came and part way through the day, we call to find out when they will arrive. We are then told that they can't make it and reschedule for the next week. We are eager to get the countertops in and want to confirm exact time and date of delivery so we call a few days later and are told that it will be on the 10th day by Leslie Esson but no time is confirmed. Another call to Stone Edge and we speak to Peter and again no confirmation of time but are reassured that installation will be on the 10th business day. Finally, it is two days until the 10th business day and we call once more and speak to Peter and are then told it will actually be 19 business days before the countertops will be installed (almost twice as long as we were told on multiple occasionts). The most frustrating part is that we had to call to find out. This company does not care about their customers and when I called to express my frustration, I was told that there are over 40 others in the same boat. In speaking with Peter, he mentioned that 40 of the 45 orders he has, the people are upset with Stone Edge. I don't know about you, but do you really want to deal with a company that upsets the majority of their customers? I will never deal with this company again and will be sure to share my experience with anyone that will listen and hopefully save them the trouble.Answer from pro:
Dear Mr. Chris Au-Yeung, (“Steve”), Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Homestars.ca about our Company and your experience. I would like to take the opportunity to address your concerns on this forum. After speaking with you in person about your dissatisfaction and refunding your deposit in full, it is unfortunate that you have decided to take your isolated incident and imply that this is a regular occurrence for Stone Edge Marble and Granite Inc. I have apologized profusely for our miscommunication and will do so again. As owner of this business, I take our customers concerns very seriously and will continue to try and improve upon our customer service and experience. We very much care about our Customers and always have. You had placed your order for the Home Show special on May 17th, 2010. Not in April, like you have stated. On the Home Show Special paperwork, it was clearly stated that it expired on April 30th but because of a delay on your behalf, we decided to offer the special pricing regardless. Lesley had provided you a tentative template date of Friday, June 11th. The actual template occurred on Monday June 14th. Then a tentative date of June 29th was given for install. On Friday June 25th you were made aware that the install would have to be moved to July 8th, 2010, which yes, was longer than first explained. On Saturday June 26th, you came in to the showroom and talked to me directly, at which point I apologized for the delays and offered you the full refund of your initial deposit. The Month of June has been particularly hectic for us as we experienced a much larger demand due to the HST. We were not prepared for the sudden influx and unfortunately our install and delivery times have suffered. These delays are temporary and we are confident that once this rush is over, our schedule will be back on track. Some of our customers have had their dates moved and they have all been very understanding under the circumstances. We have not upset 40 out of 45 customers as you stated, and to misquote our production manager is unfair. We would like to apologize to you again for this unfortunate event and are sorry that you were still upset after our meeting where the above information was explained to you. Vince Marchese Owner, Stone Edge Granite and Marble Inc.

Our recently dealings with Stone Edge was the best part of our Kitchen renovation. Dealing with their sales staff, templators, and install personal was nothing short of pure professionalism, but most importantly...stressfree. They were on time, on budget, and left us with a beautiful product we are proud of and getting lots of compliments for. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of product or service.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Working with StoneEdge was probably the easiest part of my entire kitchen / bath renovation. I purchased my Caesarstone countertop from StoneEdge after being referred to them by a friend who also used their services.... and the final product looks just absolutely stunning!!! Teresa and her team were patient, helpful and thoroughly professional, and I would absolutely refer anybody looking to redo their countertops to her, as well as use them again myself in the future. Despite all of my questions and potential changes to the scope of the project, Teresa was so informative and always returned emails with all of my concerns and questions addressed. They had a huge selection of colours (I ended up choosing Caesarstone Raven, to go with my modern white cabients), and their prices seemed extremely reasonable. It meant so much to me that in the midst of a stressful renovation project, StoneEdge was prompt, professional most importantly, the whole process just went so smoothly. That counts for so much when chaos is all around you! They were especially good in scheduling all the work to be done in an extremely reasonable timeframe; from ordering the product to installation, it took only about 2-3 weeks! Which was so awesome seeing as it is right before the holidays. Thank you Teresa and StoneEdge for my gorgeous quartz countertop! I am one happy customer!Review from fofi fofi

Stone Edge was a pleasure to deal with right from the beginning; one of the first companies to reply back to my inquiry for an estimate and Theresa was very on the ball...always answering our questions and set up a consultation very quickly. Also most reasonable in terms of pricing and customer service is exceptional. Large selection of granite to choose from. The whole process took about 2.5 weeks...meeting with them, selecting the product and having it ordered and installed...which only took like 2-3 hours. The end result looks amazing and it's the first thing my guests compliment when they see my kitchen. I recomend Stone Edge to everyone I know who is upgrading their kitchen and will do business with them in the future.Answer from pro:

Having used Stone Edge (when they were in North York) for my previous home, we contracted them again to do granite countertops for the kitchen and marble for the powder room and ensuite. Yet again, we found the service wonderful and the product lovely. This time we dealt with Lesley Esson. What I like about Lesley: she returns calls promptly. She answered all our questions and offered her advice (having been doing this for over two decades) and was very patient with our indecision and our timeline (quite long). We ordered sinks through Stone Edge and the prices again for everything were reasonable. The templating was done quickly and the installation was done in the given time frame. The products look great and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I researched several places for granite countertops for our L shaped kitchen with an island and Stone Edge was priced very well. Everything was installed wonderfully and we've had lots of compliments on our countertops. I really appreciated the Stone Edge was flexible with our preferred method of payment! We dealt with Vince Marchese and would recommend them again as they were patient and gave advice when we actually went to the showroom to select our slab.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

The sales staff were good and the quality the same. I quoted roughly 3 times and they were the best price for the value. The installers were really efficient, they cleaned up and were very tidy. They were constantly punctual and I would recommend to friends and family!
