    three window openings in a brisk wall

    We are happy with the work they did on our house. They came when they said they would and finished the work when they said they would. Explained everything and were very pleasant They took pride in their workmanship too.

    Superb work on an old home

    We had used the services of Wilkens Contracting in the past and were always very pleased with their work. Our home is over 100 years old and needed major masonry work including a pillar replacement and chimney take down. Their service and workmanship remains superb - the brickwork is like new! All the staff at Wilkens were incredible but a particular appreciation goes to the work crew of Frank, Richard & sons for an excellent job. We cannot recommend Wilkens highly enough.     Excellent work and service once again

    We needed a complete chimney rebuild. Having used Wilkens previously for a couple of smaller jobs we called them for an estimate. They climbed up to inspect the chimney and provided a detailed estimate, unlike the other two companies who just eyeballed it from ground level and grossly overestimated. We were given an approximate two week window for commencement of the work, weather-dependent, and true to their word called the day before to confirm. They arrived promptly at 8am, worked steadlily all day and came back the next morning for a couple of hours to finish and clean up. We couldn't be more pleased with the work and the service.

    Chimney rebuild

    From the quote to the work being performed Wilkens did an excellent job. Showed up right on time, took extra precautions to protect the neighbours plants and cleaned everything up. Wish all my projects would go this smoothly. Will be using again in the near future for further brickwork.

    Brick replacement, tuckpointing

    I got a referral from Facebook with glowing reviews so came here to double check. Wonderful reviews so got a quote for four bricks to be replaced and tuckpointing in a bunch of places. They got to work and it was done quickly and beautifully. I have referred them to friends and they were happy as well. I need more work done and won’t hesitate to call again! Thx for doing what you said you would do, did it very well, and for a reasonable cost.

    Very Polite and Great Service

    Our insurance company was very picky and asked us to get chimney metal liner installed. I called Wilkens to get a quote. They were very quick to respond and send someone. Even though I screwed up the schedule first time, they still came back another day I was home. The guy who came was super polite and nice. He inspected the chimney and gave us a quote but told us he wouldn't recommend it since it's an older house and the chimney is too narrow. He also told us that the code doesn't require us to install the liner. We had to argue with our insurance about that and they even called Wilkens to confirm it and finally got it resolved. Wilkens didn't charge us for any of that and I am very grateful for their service. I wouldn't hesitate to call them if we have any masonry work in the house.

    Richard was excellent

    Called Wilkens after getting no reply back from 2 other companies. Wilkens showed up when they said they would. Richard was very professional in his assessment. Very straightforward, no attempt at upselling. He really knew what he was talking about. Will be sticking with this company.

    Pointing, waterproofing and fixing brickwork

    With an old Victorian house, you get some erosion around the brick joints over time. You also get some crumbling where the brick meets the ground, allowing water to get into your basement. Allan came by from Wilkens and fixed all of the problems that we had identified and a few more that he noticed and we had not. He also repaired the brickwork around a new window installation that had left a ragged edge. We were very pleased with the work done and found Allan a pleasure to work with. You can certainly see why Wilkens come so highly recommended.

    Repair of stone work on stairway and stairway walls

    We want to take this opportunity to recognize the work that Bill Kittel, Wilkens Contracting Inc., completed on our stairway. We were (past work on exterior walls) and continue to be very impressed with the service that was delivered. Bill found creative solutions to the repairs on the stone facings that make it appear seamless with the existing material. He is pleasant to chat with and offered explanations to the work that he completed. Bill Kittel is very deserving of our recognition for a job well done.

    Beautiful job - tuck pointing on old brick

    The entire house was tuck pointed in a day. The brick was in poor shape with mortar missing in various spots especially below windows. Wilkens provided a quote and scheduled a date for the work. The job was done by Allan who was extremely detail oriented. He was able to complete all sides of the house to perfection. There is massive improvement in the look of the brickwork. The mortar was matched to the same color. I'd gladly recommend Wilkens to anyone looking for a fair priced honest contractor to have tuck pointing done on their home.
