    On time and did the job

    I bought a new fridge that was making loud and frequent noises from the time it was delivered. Fortunately the noises occurred when the technician was here and he identified where they were coming from and fixed the problem. It was quick and simple. The service man arrived on time and did his job efficiently.

    Dishwasher repair

    Our washing machine stopped working one day in the middle of a cycle. It would not agitate or drain. I called Platinum and they came the next day, I was not home so I left the technician a key. He ordered in the part and my washer was back up and running within a few days. Friendly and efficient service, I recommend them to any friend needing an appliance fixed.

    The worst customer service of my life

    My just over 1 year old dishwasher was defective and I made the mistake of going to Platinum Appliance. They dispatched Jason, whom others here have complained, who showed up and within minutes of arrival, stormed out of the house without completing the repair. Reason: he was bothered by our friendly puppy who was simply happy to see him. We immediately locked up the dog but Jason refused to come back. Even my cleaning lady was assuring him he would not be a problem and he rudely scorned her "who are you???" To add insult to injury, they have the gall to send me a bill for the service that was not performed. Attempts to deal with it at the time involved staff refusing to get Jason on the line, but sending him text messages instead. After 3 calls begging them to please have him come back – I had booked the morning off work for Jason’s appointment – they told me “he has already left the area.” What a joke. Attempts to deal with any sort of manager was not successful – “Dale” is the manager in question but staff refuse to give his email or take a message for call back. If you care about good customer service, say “no” if you are faced with the sad prospect of dealing with this incompetent company. NEVER AGAIN - STAY AWAY FROM PLATINUM APPLIANCE.

    Sir, I remember this situation clearly, in early January of this year. At the time of the incident you were not home, only your wife and cleaning person. Your version of the events is not entirely clear. Our technician suffers from back pain and your dog not only jumped on him in greeting, but also stepped on him several times while he was on the floor attempting to look at the dishwasher. At this point the technician decided he could not continue his repair attempts any longer, and only then did your wife offer to put the dog away. I myself offered several times to have another technician come to your house before noon that day, as I could not convince the technician to come back again. You refused that option, stating that you had another company already coming. I tried to rectify the situation, you would not allow me to. As for our service manager, he is very busy and is rarely in the office as he completes deliveries during the day, and it is our job in the office to field the complaints that go to him and handle them accordingly. We did take a message for our manager, but since you called back several times in a matter of ten minutes, he had not yet been given the message as he was out of the office at the time. The charge for service comes directly from Whirlpool, who you contacted for service. We are just contracted by them. The service call is owed to Whirlpool Canada for having a technician come to the home. If you have any issues with the amount owing, you can contact them directly at 1-800-807-6777.

    Good example of Poor Customer Service!

    I only had to go through this company because of my machines being whirlpool and whirlpool are the ones who schedule the service call and choose the service provider. Its not my first time dealing with them - maybe 3rd time or so and every time there is something that makes my blood boil after the technician leaves. They seem to always recommend the most expensive solution to solve the problem - one time they recommended that I replace a stack able washer and dryer cost close to $1800 instead of only buying a new washer - dryer had no problems whatsoever. I later used another company and was able to replace just the washer. Another time belt was broken - technician recommended that I replace the entire washer that was only 5 years old - belt, labor cost & tax $350 new washer not less than $900 plus tax. To top it all off when he came to replace the washer belt - he refused to take the old belt that he replaced and packaging that he brought the new belt in and said that they are not responsible to dispose old parts nor packaging. I called Platinum and they confirmed that this is the case- so if you for example you were to replace the drum or anything like such be ready to make arrangements and pay for disposing of parts and packaging as its not included in the service! I have had service done to many appliances over the years never came across this one! Talking about poor customer service and cutting corners that will be it!

    LD Dishwasher

    Bill from Platinum Appliance fixed my LG Dishwasher. My brand new LD dishwasher would only do one cycle. Bill explained why and now it will work on all cycles. He was clean and friendly and very helpful. He really knows his job well. Thank you Bill

    Repair to Jenn Air Refrigerator

    Technician needs to go to Anger Management Classes !!! Horrible service. We gave them a second chance just recently. They tried to hold us ransom by refusing to order and install a part unless we removed a negative posting from 8 months ago. The owner told us they were the only people in the Lower Mainland who could repair our fridge. Let's see what Whirlpool has to say about this so-call "authorized repair" company. Don't go anywhere near this incompetent company. Awful people!!!

    Whirpool Refridgerator ice maker

    My ice maker stopped working. I called the Whirlpool service line. They said they could have someone out the next day and gave me two time options, with four hour windows. The technician called the next morning, just after the 4 hour widow opened to inform me that he would be at my place in the second half of the window. He arrived almost to the minute. After 5 minutes he diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimated price on the part that needed replacing and went to his truck for the part. 10 minutes later it was fixed and the part was less expensive than his estimate. All in all, in less than 30 minutes he was finished and on his way. Thank you for the excellent service.

    GE Gas Oven Repair

    Had an issue with our GE Gas oven not heating up very quickly. Called Platinum and they made appointment for the very next day. The technician called in the morning and gave a 2 hour window when he would arrive. Upon arrival he determined the igniter was faulty and he had the replacement part with him. The part was priced within $2 of what I had sourced online. Repairs were completed and wife was very happy!

    Poor Technician and poor customer service

    Terrible customer service. A technician can to the house, spent less than 5 minutes before deciding the dryer problem was an improperly installed vent cover. At my request, he said he checked the dryer and it was fine, and left . Yet the dryer didn't work, still. The company insisted procedure demanded I work through Whirlpool, and refused to come back out for another 5 days to repair the damage or give a refund. The technician was unapologetic, and insisted it must be another new problem with the 13 month old dryer. I realize technicians can make errors, but this company's refusal to deal promptly with the issue, to apologize for the error, and to have a customer service policy that removes them from the issue is unlike any company I have dealt with. I deeply regret using Whirlpool's appliance warranty package that leaves me with a company like Platinum that has poor backing for technician errors and terrible customer service. My advice-go with another Whirlpool certified company

    Hello there, I am the office manager, I just got into the office and had a note to call you, I was just waiting to talk to technician to see what happened. First my sincerest apologies that you were unhappy.Jason is a very good technician, he sent photos of the issue, which was the flap to the outside vent was over the vent. He took that off and explained to you and showed you you need a new flapper(which is a installation issue not a issue with the actual appliance)and as well cleaned up all the built up lint,when he tested the unit it was blowing hot air from the dryer unhooked up(That is how we test the actual machine and can tell if its related to the unit or installation). You called the office and because you were unhappy,clearly and said the unit wasn't working,our office staff noticed authorization code for parts covered and that you needed a repeat service. Because we work for Whirlpool, any recall must go through them, so that they can document the issues and give the customer the best service possible. You refused to call Whirlpool,and we still offered you next business day service which is Tuesday Jan 2 as we are fully booked for same day service unfortunately.We only charged a service call as per Whirlpool Canada, and had full intentions on returning to your home to address whatever other issues related to initial visit or not related. The initial call was not heating and long dry time, very common error is plugged vents, we have photos to prove that was the exact case of why the dryer was not drying, not to say that it possibly has another issue and may be related to the plugged vent, could be a fuse,we need to return to do so.

    stove and then dishwasher repair

    I have a gas stove. After another company supposedly did a "repair" that would keep the oven door from remaining locked after going through a self clean cycle, i gave up on them and called Platinum services. The technician called the factory, as per factory request when the first two "repairs" had been done. It turned out that the first repair service had not followed the manufacturer's recommendations. Platinum showed me what needed to be changed, then did it. This oven has worked perfectly for the last four years, and I anticipate no further issues. Because of this, I called them when I thought I had a dishwasher problem. Turned out that I did not have the "problem" I thought I had. I'd simply not realized what was making all of the noise - a dish sitting the wrong way, catching the spinning arm of the washer. The technician could have gouged me, but instead gave a very, very minimal cost for "labour" and the standard service call charge. This is expected, as the service person had to travel quite a distance to come and check out the problem for me. I trust this repair service. They are knowledgeable, kind, and honest.
