Review from HomeOwner Review left on 26 Jun 2014Rating: 5 out of 5In mid July of 2013 my family was surprised by a bat flying around in our living room. We assumed it came in the door from the back deck as a family member had just been outside. We successfully freed the bat and didn't think much more about it. Five days later there was another bat late at night. Again we freed the bat and came up with a possible explanation for its presence. Another five days and another bat was in the house in the middle of the night. Again it was freed. Two nights later and there was yet another one. This was the last straw. The next morning, I searched on the internet for a solution. Luckily I found Bats Canada's website. I was impressed by the information on the site, by the fact that bats are all the company deals with, and that they employ humane solutions. I called immediately. My call was returned promptly then Kenny and Benny arrived six days later. They quickly found the entry point, installed vents to allow egress without reentry, caulked the entire house, and immaculately cleaned up. They patiently listened and answered all my questions. Due to a busy season, they were unable to return to remove the vents until this spring. At this time they checked that everything was secure. To date, there have been no further bats in the house. We are very pleased with Bats Canada. Update: Summer 2014 found another bat in the house. Phoned Bats Canada as soon as daylight arrived. Kenny immediately returned the call and was here within 36 hours with his associate. They did a detailed examination of the house and found that some exterior maintenance that we'd had performed was the cause of the problem. We'd replaced a fascia board and it had not been sealed thoroughly. They took care of this then completed their examination of the entire house. Ken suggested that in the future we should contact him when doing exterior maintenance so he can detail the things we need to ensure are done to stay bat free. Kenny is professional and thorough and the Bats Canada warranty is excellent. Thank you Kenny.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

We took possession of our 25yr old property on May 1st this year. On May 2nd, we sat on our stone patio behind the garage and watched 7 bats fly out of a small area behind the garage soffit. 2 night later we watched 34 bats do the same thing. A bit of research later and we had Kenny's name. My motto has always been do it right the first time, because I don't have time to do it again. That's obviously the motto of Bats Canada too. Kenny's team showed up on June 9th to seal the house and install the one-way vents. We thought we had problems in the back...apparently we had more in the front of our house over our bedroom bay window. Kenny made custom flashing and sealed every hole. The bats were all gone by that weekend and have found somewhere else to live. I see the bats at night doing their job...but now they just visit. Awesome job guys. Our family says thanks. We had bats roosting in our attic and in some of the interior walls; the noises rendered one bedroom quite unsusable. They could have been there for years. A general wildlife expert came FIVE times but did not manage to solve the problem. Finally we called Bats Canada and they did the job in one day. No more noises in walls, no nighttime bats in basement or winging through upstairs bedrooms. In Kenny's words; he turned the house into Fort Knox. We recommend this company all the way!Answer from pro:

We just moved into our home a couple months ago and on the second night here...we had a bat in our house. We got it out, assumed it was random since we're kind of out in the woods, and thought nothing more of it. A week or so later, we heard bats chattering above our fireplace. A week or so after that, we found a bat in our garage. Then some more fireplace chattering. We decided to call a local pest control company to check things out. They went up in our attic and found a decent amount of bat droppings and believed bats were living in our attic. So we called Bats Canada. Kenny gave me a quote over the phone, came to the house a few days later, and could tell we had a bat problem without even stepping foot in our attic. He sealed the entire house, located entry points that we never would have even imagined a bat could squeeze through. He secured one-way exit vents so the bats could leave and not re-enter. He answered every single question we had and we now know more about bats than we ever thought we would need to! A couple weeks later, he returned and took the vents off, sealed everything up, checked out the attic to ensure all the bats had left and slapped a 5-year guarantee on his work! 5 YEARS!!!! If you've got a bat issue...I would definitely recommend Bats Canada. Awesome work!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I called Bats Canada in the off season and they assured me they would call back when the timing was right to do the job. Sure enough they called me this past April, came out, assessed and completed the job as promised. The bats left the house that night. They came back a month later to remove the one way doors. Thanks guys. Highly recommend.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Very knowledgeable about bats. I had checked the attic expecting to see bats hanging from the rafters. I could see no bats or bat droppings. Kenny said they were not in the attic but in the walls and worked their way into the basement. We had bats flying around in our family room (which is in the basement and is finished except for the furnace room) and in our bedroom above our bed at night... Scary. He found the entry points quickly and caulked around the whole house. Installed bat tubes so bats could exit but not get back in. He checkd all the roof and soffit areas for entry points not just for bats but other small critters like chippies etc., and made a small aluminum box on the roof where it slopes and joins a lower portion. He also installed mesh wire in the weeping holes around the brick above the foundation. I year later and so far no bats. We are in a raised bungalow which is 55 feet deep and 25 feet across so there was quite a bit of soffit to caulk.. It cost $2500. n case you are wondering. I was just asked for a referral to remove bats and I referred them to Kenny at Bats Canada for the job.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Kenny and crew removed a small family of <10 Great Browns from our family home a year ago and we're certain we're bat proofed now! It was a great price, they were fun and pleasant for my wife and I to work with they did it faster than expected and left our home looking beautiful behind them. Just as importantly we're certain the bats made it out safely and continue to do play their important role in controlling the mosquito population in London. They are the most knowledgeable people in the market today and provide tremendous value. We'd recommend them to anyone!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Kenny of Bats Canada Inc. did a very high quality job of ridding our house of bats and then cleaning up the attic of bat droppings in preparation for it to be insulated. I went up to the attic and inspected the cleanup work after it had been completed. I knew what had been there beforehand and therefore I could see that an excellent job had been done. I was very pleased with the results and so was the insulation install crew. It's two years now and no bats have returned. Our house was built around 1880. The work done was well worth the price. I noticed another review on this site giving Bats Canada a zero rating and I feel it is not at all valid (see Kenny's explanation). I watched Kenny work and was able to interact with him quite a bit as I'm retired. For some people quality work is who they are and that describes Kenny exactly - he's someone for whom doing quality work is very important. Recently we had siding added to our second floor facia and soffits and again I got to know and talk to the installer as he completed the job. During one of his breaks we were chatting and out the blue he asked me who done the caulking job up on the second story. It was Kenny who had done it since this is one of things that needed to be completed to keep the bats from getting back into the attic. Anyhow, the siding installer went on to say he had never seen such a good and through job of caulking as had been done on our upper storey. This is work I wasn't able to inspect at the time it was done yet it was top notch. I was very pleased to hear that - yet it didn't surprise me. So pay a little less and you'll have your bats back before long or pay a little more for Kenny's high quality work and that won't happen.Review from Camille Camille

I cannot understand how anyone could give a negative review of this company. This was one of the most professional contractors I have ever dealt with. We bought a house with a bat problem. Unfortunately the previous bat proofing company that the sellers used did not honour their warranty when we purchased the home. And since they didn't "bat proof " the house - we had 5 bats appear throughout the winter in the basement I really didn't want them back. I decided to contact Kenny at Bats Canada after google searching Bat removal companies and finding his documentary that was filmed with HGTV. I was impressed when Kenny answered all my questions over the phone and promised to come out in the spring to inspect and quote. He advised nothing could be done in the winter. After inspecting my property he quoted the job and explained the bat proofing process. 6 hours of work and 4 entry points found ( with bat droppings) - yes the other guy missed them- my house was bat proofed. We haven't seen a bat since. With his 5 year warranty I feel confident I will not have a bat problem. Thank you Kenny for a job well done! I am grateful you travel as far as Newmarket!! You are truly a lifesaver. I can confidently go in the basement again!!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Quoted $4500 on the phone. Came out and price went to $6500. Paid them to do the job. Still had bats and phoned to let them know. Said they would be back in a couple of weeks . they never showed. Phoned again. They still didnt show up.Answer from pro:
This review is not current. First of all the client was quoted over the phone a range of $4,500 to $6,500 not just $4,500. As the building was in poor condition and we didn't know how much work would be necessary until we got there. We returned to the jobsite and discovered that squirrels had chewed new holes in the soffits of the house and that is how the bats got back in to the building. This means that our workmanship was not in anyway faulty. Our warranty specifically excludes reinfestation caused by squirrels chewing new openings. We returned and fixed the problem for free and did not bill the customer even though it cost us a substantial amount to return and undertake these extra repairs. To be honest given that we have done all this extra work for free we are a little disappointed that the customer has not already updated this negative review and we are hoping that they will change or remove it soon.
