We had to replace an LG fridge in which the compressor and freezer fan fell apart after 5 years (remember when fridges used to last for decades??). CAS seemed reliable so we found the fridge we wanted and purchased it there. I thought the $80 delivery charge was a bit steep but went with it anyway. We told them in advance we needed the fridge door hinge to be on the left, so we would open it from right to left to avoid chafing the wall. They delivered the fridge, switched the door around and quickly left. As soon as we tried opening the fridge, we noticed the bottom hinge was too close to the fridge, with a corner of the door snagging on the fridge with a loud snap. Plastic was also being shaved off from the plate holding the door in. We called for them to come back and fix it and they said they would be back tomorrow. They did not come back, so I called back and they scheduled for the next day when we were away. Finally we settled on Thursday, but their delivery time was between 9 and 1. We told them we had appointments in the morning but would be there later. They said no problem. Then one of our appointments went too long and we phoned back to say we would have to cancel the appointment. They said no problem, we will reschedule. The next day when we phoned, they told us it would be another $80 for them to come back and fix the fridge door they had improperly installed. We told them we were unaware of this charge, especially since we had been in contact with them and were very clear about our availability to be at home. They said nothing could be done. When we asked to speak to a manager, they refused to give us any number or email to contact. In the end we fixed it ourselves. It was a simple fix, but frustrating as it was clearly stated in the manual how to flip the fridge door. I went to the store and told them what a pain it was to deal with them and how they fully believed they should be paid extra to fix the problem they had created. In short, do not recommend this store at all. I had also contacted the salespeople in Guelph and they had no idea how to resolve the problem, even going so far as to blame it all on their 'third-party delivery service' they used, and hey, why don't you call them directly (so we do not have to deal with it?). Grrrr. Avoid this place.
