Small basement Reno
I contacted the home improvement people after a good friend of mine recommended them to me. She was very happy with their workmanship, skills and she also mentioned how easy was to reach them at all times. After reading few reviews about their work here on Homestars I picked up the phone and called. I needed help fixing few walls in my basement, replace some tiles in the washroom and also fix some damaged baseboards. Communication was good, I found the process from first day to be easy and clear, the estimation for the project was quick and once we agreed to continue, the job was started in no time. Everything was completed as promised in a timely manner. My house was keeped tidy and clean during their work, overall, very happy with the Home improvement people. Thank you for completing the job on time.

Basement Renovation
Our experience with The Home Improvement People during our basement renovation could not have been better and deserves the highest praise. From our first contact to the final details, this company delivered service with incredible professionalism, skill, consideration and commitment. Danny, the owner, was prompt in providing a clear and highly competitive quote - and the price of the project never changed, even with the minor adjustments (and enhancements) during the work. He was always available for questions, wonderfully personable, and clearly an expert in the various trades. Mike, was an excellent supervisor, generous with his advice and expertise, careful with every last detail, and continuously involved with inspecting the quality of work. Rocco and Ron were the skilled craftsmen that transformed and rebuilt our basement and bathroom. They were tremendously hard working, meticulous and great problem solvers. The painting was also beautifully done by Alex. The project was quick, clean, and unobtrusive. We are truly enthusiastic about recommending this wonderful company. (And we will honestly miss the conversation and company of the fine gentlemen of The Home Improvement People). All the best guys!

Basement
We called The Home Improvement People for some basement work on a Monday. They responded immediately. We had a price by Tuesday! Many other companies still have not even called me back. The work went off perfectly. They were punctual, neat, and we are thrilled with the workmanship. We are absolutely thrilled with the basement and with the comfort and knowledge that we have found renovators for life! Suzanne

Small Space Reno
I would like to thank Elia, Christian and Chris for their hard work and professionalism. We had a tricky renovation project in a very small space that we couldn’t figure out how to tackle until Elia arrived to assess it. We were thrilled with his clever design solution and the meticulous work of Chris and Christian in bringing it to fruition. As other reviewers have said, they were punctual, friendly, tidy, a pleasure to work with, and the end result exceeded our expectations. Thanks again! You guys rock!

Bathroom re-done
Very sorry it took so long - here is my review. A quickt note to say how happy we are with the renovation done by the Home Improvement People. Mein and his crew worked extremely hard and well together. The entire process was well co-ordinated and moved along smoothly. They worked in a professional, conscientious manner, always waiting to please us in every detail. Our home was clean at all times during their work. With Christmas holidays fast approaching, they understood the importance of having our bathroom completed as soon as possible. From answering our questions, stand behind their work to doing everything to code they are the people you want to deal with. Finding the right company / contractor it is very important, so once you find one, don't let them go. Stop searching, they are what you are looking for. Highly recommended ! Thanks for a job well done.

Basement Project
First of all I will like to thank Elia and his team ( Christian, Chris, Ozzie, Louis and Walter) for giving me a finished basement above my expectations. My previous dealings with contractors left me with an expectation of low quality work for a high prices. HIP came well recommended to me, by the time I met Elia and Christian I felt that I already knew them because of all the positive reviews I read. In reality they are better than that, in addition to being punctual and a pleasure to work with they are trustworthy, managed my expectations, alleviated my concerns and overdelivered on service and quality. Thank you very much guys!

Bathroom Renovation
Celine and I are turly impressed by the way Ben and Dan run there business. Jerry was great he showed up every morning in good spirits and worked with care and pride in the finished product. He was able to complete both bathrooms with in the time Ben had allowed. We are very pleased with the finished result but even more pleased with the way The HomeImprovent People Ben Jerry and you Haydee handled the project. I would not hestitate to recommend you.

Bathroom Renovation
From Day 1, I was impressed by the professionalism, knowledge and quality of my interactions with Ben and Gerhard. That was only surpassed once Neil, Dima and Eugine were on site. They were so professional, polite and efficient. They knew exactly what need to be done and executed it flawlessly.

Bathroom renovation
We were looking to do a major bathroom renovation, including expanding our second floor washroom through a double brick wall into a sun room on the back of our house, where we wanted to build a new shower and install a new bathtub. We were also looking to replace a staircase, insulate the entire addition (from basement to second floor), add insulation and siding to the addition’s exterior, install some new light fixtures and windows, and put in in-floor heating. We contacted Home Improvement People along with 4 or 5 other companies that were highly rated on Homestars. Larry helped us scope the project, and was very prompt in providing a written quote that came in better than the other companies we spoke with. As with any job, there were changes along the way – Larry was always very accommodating and solution-focused – he was always able to answer our questions and help us with additional work (i.e,. adding extra potlights in the kitchen, removing popcorn ceiling, install new hardwood in a bedroom etc…). The plumbers, electrical, spray insulation, siding installation, tile, flooring, painting and drywall guys were very professional, and did a great job. We had some problems with the stair installation not being done properly, but Larry made sure it got fixed. The job took longer than we had hoped it would (just over 3 months), but the end result was worth the wait. We would definitely recommend the Hope Improvement People, and would use them again ourselves.

Basement reno/finishing
I had the basement dug out after the Toronto flood last summer (2013). It was a huge project and dragged on forever, and I wasn't thrilled with the company that did the initial work (ascot). I wasn't happy with any of the ridiculous quotes I was getting from finishing guys either. I found The Home Improvement People on Homestars and they were super quick to respond and match my best quote. They were super respectful and professional. The costs didn't inflate, the only thing that ended up being extra was the electrical (it was a disaster in the ceiling from previous owner..not their fault). Any time there might have been an additional cost it was brought to my attention first and I was given the choice. Mike is who I dealt with, and he has hands down been my favourite contractor to deal with, ever. Extremely straight forward and no b.s. They finished things on time and came back to finish up every last bit. I highly recommend these guys. I would hire them again for any major reno. They did a thorough and amazing job. Super straight forward people. Ask for Mike!
