We just finished a basement renovation at our home and had no idea what to expect as this was our first major renovation. From the first time I met Elia and Rob, I had a good feeling that we would be taken care of. Neither one of them disappointed us. From the initial stages through to the finished product both were a pleasure to deal with. Rob was very open and honest about what was required as well as providing some great suggestions that we had no even thought about. All of the sub contractors that were used were also a great group of people. We are very happy with the way the project ran and would use them again in any future renovations.

I found the Home Improvement People on HomeStars and requested a quote. Their quote was not the cheapest (in the middle), but I felt comfortable with Elia that I would be taken care of when things didn't go as planned (as they were likely to in this 90+ year old house). The crew and their subcontractors were very good, and were very responsive to my requests. I especially must mention Rob who took the time to explain everything that was happening on a frequent basis. They also finished ahead of schedule. Overall, I was happy with the workmanship, customer service, and the finished product.

We originally found The Home Improvement People on Homestars and were impressed by the reviews. We were not disappointed. From our initial meeting with Ben to the work by Jerry and his crew our overall experience couldn't have been better. We left our home in Jerry's care while on vacation and could not be happier with the beautiful new bathroom we found when we returned. We are already planning our next project and won't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Just had the Home Improvement People do a complete basement renovation and we are delighted with the results. Any type of renovation especially basement , can be messy and add a lot of extra stress and disruption to everyday family life. I was very impressed by the care and attention to detail and the tidy workspace that the HIP crew generated. The crew members were very friendly and courteous. Their level of professionalism and craftsmanship was second to none and they made suggestions that were practical and were in keeping with the style of our home and within our budget. Kris, I wanted to thank you and your team for the excellent work you did on our recent bathroom renovation. It is amazing that nearly 30 years of wear can be completely erased in 2 short weeks of hard work. The finished product is fantastic. The team paid attention to the details; overcame the occasional challenges without complaint, and delivered the finished project on-time and on-budget. Throughout the period you kept the mess to a minimum, cleaned up at the end of each day and were respectful of our time. We will definitely keep your number handy for future renovations and look forward to working with you in the future.

The renovation was carried out in a timely, professional manner. Workmanship was tiptop and high quality, and clearly the team was knowledgeable and very experienced. The team leader, Rob, was fully approachable and kept my apprised of issues and status of work. Highly recommended.

I would like to say a BIG thank you to "The Home Improvement People" for helping with my bathroom renovation. From the first appointment with Dan to get my quote through to the very end, I was extremely impressed and happy with the services that were provided to me. They were very accommodating to my schedule and tight timeline, which was great, and something I would have not expected. I was very happy with Mien and Manuel. Both were extremely polite, respectful of my home and knowledgeable in their work. They worked fast to meet my timeline, however quality was not sacrificed. One of the hardest decisions about getting a renovation done is finding the right contractor. We decided to go with The Home Improvement People based on written reviews and a friends experience with them this past year. The entire team, led by Kris Ramkissoon were not only price competitive, courteous, organized, and clean, they were extremely professional. Our bathroom renovation was completed on the time line promised, and the results were exactly how we envisioned them to be. Based on our experience we can’t express enough how happy we are for picking the right contractor; which made our renovation seamless, and I hope this letter helps someone else make the right decision. While searching for a General Contractor for our 800 sq. ft. basement, I read many, many reviews on HomeStars and I often wondered if the Home Improvement People’s high rating was a true indicator of the quality of their work. I can now say without a doubt that it really does! We hired The Home Improvement People (THIP) after having Elia come to our home for an estimate. This was after we had numerous contractors come do the same. THIP wasn’t the cheapest, but they were easily at the low end of the range of estimates we had received. More importantly, Elia had the patience, professionalism and courtesy that gave us confidence over the other contractors. He responded promptly to my calls and to my emails, and he was punctual in meeting scheduled appointments. He was never pushy, always willing to answer our questions and was always honest with his opinions, ideas and suggestions. After we signed the contract and before the start of the project, Elia was always available to answer the many questions we had while we finalized our basement design. Once the project got going, we had the pleasure to meet and work with THIP’s crew, led by their foreman Caio, with his sidekicks Fabiano and William. They were friendly, approachable, down-to-earth, hard-working, courteous, and very accommodating to our daily schedule. They held themselves and their subcontractors to the highest standards and they never cut corners, rushed, or settled on a sub-par job. They always cleaned up after themselves before leaving at the end of the day, and they were always available to talk to us when we had questions or concerns. They were quick to respond to our concerns and promptly addressed deficiencies along the way. We were very fortunate to have worked with such a stellar crew. We would not hesitate to recommend THIP to anyone looking for a good general contractor for projects big and small. Caio and his team at THIP will be at the top of my list of contractors to call for any home improvement projects in the future. Thanks Elia and Caio for a job well done!
