My husband and I are thrilled with the job Eli and his team did completing our basement. It looks absolutely amazing! Eli was a pleasure to work with (always accessible by phone, always kept us in the loop about what was happening next). And the contractors were extremely professional and helpful ( special shout out to Christian). I would not hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family. If we ever have renovations in the future, we know who to contact! Thanks again for a great experience!

Ben quoted us for labour only and that allowed us to choose everything ourselves. The time line was 2 weeks and that was fulfilled to a T. Not only that but the work was beautifully done. Each night the house was left clean as if no one had been there. A pleasure to deal with HIP and Jerry & Max.

Earlier this spring, my wife and I were looking to have our outdated basement renovated. We were sick of the cold tiles and looking at the 70's wood panelling. While researching contractors on Homestars we discovered The Home Improvement People. We read several outstanding reviews and decided to call them up. To our surprise, Dan came over a few days later to have a look at it. He is very friendly and professional and was able to give us a quote on the spot. We got a good feeling from him and asked him to come back with his contractor, Elia, the following week. We went through the basement with Dan and Elia, telling them what we wanted and they came up with an actual quote that we felt was very reasonable and said they'd be able to start demo the following week and that the whole project would take about 4 weeks. The actual demo only took 1 day and it was quite surreal to see the basement opened up to bare, concrete walls. There were a lot of people that first day but the workers worked fast and they were very polite. Elia was always available by phone or text to answer any questions and usually responded within 5 minutes. Him always being available helped us to trust that the job was going to be finished on time. Christian had all of the framing done on day 2 and was running speaker wire and setting up the bar area. We did find a small water leak in one corner of the basement and Elia was on top of it and had his waterproofing guy, Vlad come to look at it that afternoon. The guys from Umbrella Waterproofing did a great job and had the problem fixed within 3 days. The electrician came to wire the outlets and pot lights but the rest of the reno was done mostly by Mark. He really worked hard, never left for the day until he was satisfied and took a lot of pride in his work. Once the final bit of carpet had been put down, it had been almost 4 weeks exactly. Right on time! We asked to delay putting in the railing for the stairs a week so we would have an easier time getting furniture into the basement. When we were ready we called Elia and they had it put in. With a big job like this we were a little worried going in, but the Home Improvement People gave us exactly what we wanted and made the whole experience pretty painless. We finally have a place that we can enjoy as a family and entertain friends. We look forward to working with The Home Improvement People again on our next project and would recommend them to anyone (and already have.)

Complete gut to a small bathroom in an old condo apartment. I am very happy with the work that the Home Improvement People did to my bathroom. I had an old bathroom that needed a complete gut. I had the shower and tub replaced. New tile and vanity, and plumbing replaced. Kris was the project manager assigned to the project and he did amazing work. He was very easy to work with, and was always extremely professional. The renovation had a very tight deadline of 2.5 weeks which they were able to accommediate. The quality of the work has been beautiful, and after 8 months everything is still working beautifully. As this was my first major renovation it was a very positive experience. The labour was approx. 9000 dollars, the remainder was in finishes.

Dear Home Improvement People I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my bathroom renovation, but more than that, I wanted to compliment Jerry on the job he did. He is truly a master at what he does. Every detail was beautifully finished. But more than that, it was an absolute pleasure working with him. He is everything a tradesman should be--reliable, knowledgeable, meticulous, and pleasant. I'm hoping to do the ensuite bathroom at some later date, and I wouldn't have anybody but Jerry do it. Hi Guys, Thanks again for such a great experience. Our basement went from being a big storage room into a rec room that we love even more then our kids love. We also can't believe that our 70's bathroom is gone and replaced with our modern gorgeous new bathroom upstairs. Everybody was so helpful and polite and clean. Everything was explained to us and we felt like we were clued in every step of the way. We really love it and kinda miss all the guys. Thx again Dan and Ben and Elia and Jerry and Haydee.

Completed Full renovations of 2 Bathrooms last Fall - one with Glass Shower and 2nd with Tub/Shower. Thrilled with the results. Price Quoted for Labour Only. I picked tile, vanities, fixtures from Taps and entire job came in under budget. Will use Home Improvement People for next renovation.

My mother broke her hip and needed to upgrade the bathroom for her walker and possible wheel chair. I received 4 quotes, I chose home improvement because of a clear quote and clear communication. I am so pleased that not only was the job done on time. Tim made sure that every detail was taking care of. Tim was an absolute pleasure to deal with. My Mother loves her new bathroom.

Eli, Dave and his team from the start were polite, professional, trustworthy, considerate (of noise levels, cleanup etc), pleasant and patient with any questions. Eli and Dave were able to offer many positive, creative solutions, for example rerouting choppy looking bulkhead into a more streamlined look. Their work was thorough at every stage of the basement renovation, from the insulation and dry wall to the great attention to detail in the gorgeous end product of our beautiful basement. Dave was excellent with communication of each stage, that is, coordinating smoothly and successfully informing us of the time frame of his team, electrician, government inspector and painter. He recommended a place for the best price for the wood laminate flooring, produced samples of flooring and carpet for stairs; and expertly tiled the bathroom and installed toilet and vanity. The estimate was from 6 - 8 weeks and they finished on Thursday in 6 and a half weeks. We would not hesitate to recommend Eli and his team to anyone who would like the great renovation experience we had.
