    Painting

I called College Pro to get my bathrooms painted in the house. They offered me an inexpensive price and did a fairly decent job, however not to meticulous in their procedures as they walked in my house with dirty shoes and dirtied my carpet. If they were a little cleaner around the edges I would give a 10, overall decent job

    Exterior Painting - small/simple

I needed the aluminum siding around my 2nd level window and eaves painted. After not showing up for the estimate, I decided to give a college kid a break - that lead to a horribly frustrating experience. The paint job is okay - a bit rushed and a section missed - but it's done. I agreed to a quotation that included the use of a harness, that they didn't use making the estimate unreasonable. They weren't proactive in communicating anything about the job - when, what time, etc. I was constantly chasing. When they finalized a date, they were 4 hours late (2.5 hours if you go by the time the painter showed up - the supervisor with the equipment was 4 hours late). I had to leave before they were finished and the supervisor asked if he could pick up a cheque the next day - yet again, he didn't show up and there was no communication.

    interior painting

College Pro did some exterior painting for us 8 years ago. When they followed up this past January to see if we needed anything, we asked if they would consider interior work. We then proceeded with Evgeny to consider the scope. He prepared a detailed estimate, separated into segments, so we could choose what he would do and what we would do. Evgeny’s initial approach to us was respectful and professional and detailed and remained so throughout the work. Mainly because of his excellent interaction with us, we awarded the work (less than $3,000.00) without seeking other estimates. He made sure that we all knew what the work and the price was to be, and kept us informed as the start date approached. The excellence continued with his painting crew who were professional in both their attitude and their work. All projects have speed bumps and ours was a colour problem. Evgeny provided a solution that satisfied us and College Pro. Through his efforts we now have the correct colour at minimum extra cost – all through his efforts and the support of the painters. We are very satisfied with the end result and would strongly recommend Evgeny (and the painters) to anyone looking for interior or exterior painting. With Evgeny, College Pro has a valuable partner in their business.

    Ceiling and Wall painting

I met with Evgeny at my home for the consultation and estimate. He was very thorough and explained in detail the entire process. I then booked a date and his crew arrived as promised and did a wonderful job on my family room ceiling and walls. They finished earlier than expected and cleaned up everything very well. I was unsure how the ceiling would turn out as we had done a renovation and everything was beyond my expectations. Evgeny and his crew were professional and I am extremely happy with the entire process. I have since recommended him to my parents for their house. Once I decide to paint the exterior of my home I will be calling on them again. Thank you.

    Answer from pro:

Chris, thank you for sharing your experience with Evgeny and College Pro -- we're thrilled to hear you were pleased and will call again.

    Interior painting walls & woodwork

Salesman used all the right words, professional conscientious hard working and no payment till fully satisfied. A 3 day job was completed in 2 days, preparation was minimal I had to insist the walls where given a quick sanding before the 1st coat of paint as the painter was instructed NOT to sand before painting as this had not been included in the cost. After the 2nd day at 19:30 I was asked to pay the painter in full after a quick walk through in less than ideal conditions. On reflection I should have refused and said get your supervisor to come back after I have had chance to check the work in daylight conditions as some of the work was not very professional. No warranty was given even though I asked on several occasions.

    Filling in cracks / painting

College Pro is exactly what you would think it is. The word ‘college’ equating to the inexperienced, unprofessional, young people who dirty your entire house and the word ‘pro’ that is used as a sarcastic idiom which is intended to distract you from the former word. When the painter decided to drag our $8,000 couch across our hardwood floor that destroyed not only the legs of the couch, but also our floor, we understood it was merely an accident. The issue is over the fact that the simple work was not done up to our standards. He was unable to fill the cracks in our ceiling and paint over it. We take responsibility of our mistake. It’s like we went to McDonald’s and asked for a medium rare Kobe beef burger. But, we didn’t even do that. We went to McDonald’s and asked for a cheeseburger and instead found a mouse covered in processed cheese. Did I take that metaphor too far? Oops. The point is that the actual work that was supposed to be done was not completed or insufficient for us to move forward. The service here was amateurish at best. These uneducated children have no idea how to conduct business. The young lady we spoke to, informed us that she wanted compensation for the work the painter did. I almost spat out my juice when I heard that. Because not only did we have to 1) find someone to finish the job, 2) pay for the damage done to the floor, and 3) find new legs for our couch. In essence, this company owed us money. But of course, we are generous and better people than most, we decided to give them $500 out of the $1100. My family is much more generous than I. I guess it’s the New York in me that would have torn this girl to shreds and ruined her professional life because she wanted to mess with me. The point is if you want something done right, I suggest you don’t go to College Pro Painters. Thanks, Erin for an absolutely horrible experience! I’ll make sure everyone knows about your horribly run business. XOXO

Exterior Painting - 2 stories home

College-Pro Painters and its manager, Evgeny Gotfrid Enterprises, were very unprofessional by the services received. Damages to my house (paints on my windows, doors, floors; eaves bend; broken window pane; etc..) were not confirmed by either. These services in Winnipeg are not recommended specially for a two-stories home. The said "experience" was not demonstrated. The area manager and director were not of help either for this "too fresh" franchise owner in River Heights. Oral promises were not delivered as per discussed during estimate preparation. Both companies are not recommended at all for services and management. You want to hire students, do it with "professional existing experienced contractors" -- not them!!!

    Eavestrough Cleaning

Liam, a sub-contractor, was called to clean front and back eavestroughs at my house in central Etobicoke. His time-efficiency and orderly manner in cleaning were excellent. Reasonable costing also dictates that I will use College Pro in the future!

    Exterior Painting

We previously had painting done by College Pro inside our house that was really well done so my husband and I thought we would use the same person at College Pro for the exterior of the house. The experience was terrible and took two months to resolve. We contracted for College a Pro to paint the trim and front deck of our house. The painters left paint on the brick of our house and on the windows, and they only did one coat of paint on the deck which was evident as you could see the bare wood underneath. Additionally they got paint inside our front door on the white trim by opening and closing the door when it was wet. When we asked the painters if they were coming back to fix the issues, they said yes however they did not. We then found out that the person who ran our first job had given us to another College Pro manager. This job manager said that she would send people to fix the issues however this never happened completely. Ie. one person would come, try to fix something unsuccessfully and leave before attempting to fix the other issues. The College Pro contact then started to not reply to our emails and told us that they were not responsible for the issues we had. e.g.. The paint they had painted on the brick. The paint they had painted accidentally on the inside of our front door. The paint on the glass. The paint on the cement. The issues were eventually fixed but not until the manager who did our first job got involved again. He was wonderful. To summarize, if you get the right person managing your project, it is a good deal. If you don't, it is a complete nightmare.
