    500sq. ft. of main floor tiling

    Stewart came to our house to complete a floor tiling part of an entire main floor renovation. He did a great job considering we had multile layers of tile to demolish. He picked up the new tiles for us, trusted him to do work while I was at work. He screwed down the existing particle board subfloor as well as added additional plywood on top of that to secure the base for the tiles. The reason for the 1 pt deduction is that he originally quoted 2 weeks to complete the job but took 3 weeks in total. But the quality of the tiling was worth the wait. I would definitely recommend Stewart for any tiling job, big or small.

    Installed pre-finished hardwood flooring

    Stewart did an excellent job and the smallest detail was not overlooked. I am glad I didn't try to install the floor myself as I know now it would definitely not look the same If I tried. He is a true professional with obvious experience and skill and I would definitely recommend his company. He did the job extremely well, and charged a fair price.

    Laminate Flooring in the Basement

    We contracted with Stewart to install a laminate flooring throughout our basement. We did not have a large budget for this renovation but we wanted a high quality floor that would withstand the rigors of 2 youn children and a family pet. Stewart introduced us to a new 15mm laminate, high gloss plank flooring that looks just like hardwood. As soon as we saw the product we knew that it was the one we wanted. Stewart is the type of contractor that would put Mike Holmes out of business. To start with he is punctual. He is very knowledgeable about all types of flooring, is detail oriented, takes pride in his work, and does not rush the job. The finished floor looks awesome. You would swear it was real wood. Stewart, you have exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to refer our friends and family to you. Thanks again.

    Installation of laminate

    Stewart provided us with a quote for the installation of laminate through our upstairs including 2 landings. We had originally had a family friend do a portion of the upstairs and were not happy with the results, so we called Stewart from SCT. Stewart assured us he would make it all look great and he did not dissappoint. His attention to detail,and knowledge of flooring all contributed to an end result that was amazing. The only draw back was that it took abit longer then originally planned due to things out of the control of SCT, and we appreciated the faact Stewart did not rush anything, and did the job right. He worked long days just to get this project complete which we certainly appreciated. Bottom line is I would recommend SCT and Stewart to my closest friends and family. In fact we got a quote to do the main floor which we hope to get started in a month or so.

    Hardwood in Master Bedroom & Hallway

    We did not obtain quotes from any other contractor. Instead, we chose Stewart because he came highly recommended here on the board AND because his specialty is only floors. With more than 20 years of experience, we figured he knew what he was doing. We had him put down hardwood in our bedroom and hallway. We were not disappointed -- the job is fantastic. The new sub floor he laid first is extremely stable and solid. His meticulous attention to detail means the wood grains and colours are matched and the doorways are almost invisibly sealed. We like his work so much, we asked him to come back and turn our carpeted stairs into custom oak. Highly highly recommend Stewart.

    engineered hardwood flooring

    After a year and a half (and about the same to go!) of DIY home repair, we just couldn't face installing another room's worth of engineered maple hardwood that we had previously purchased (and relied on helpful family members to install one room at a time). Despite some previous bad experiences with either flooring people or ridiculous flooring quotes for the same job, we happened upon Stewart on Home Stars and were impressed by his rating and reviews. He did not disappoint! Stewart was able to fit our job in soon after we contacted him, quoted a very fair price, arrived on time, and completed the work in a clean, conscientious and careful manner. After the first few hours of seeing him work his magic, we let out a sigh of relief that we finally found someone who could do a great job for a great price. When you are trying to fix up a house on a tight budget, it's a splurge to hire someone when you weren't necessarily planning to, but it was more than worth it, especially in terms of saving our sanity! We are definitely having Stewart back to finish our hallway flooring and probably some tiling as well. What a find!

    KItchen Flooring renovation

    I have had a number of home renovations over the past 3 years and SCT Flooring was by far the best in terms of renovation quality, punctuality, service, and cost. We wanted to replace the kitchen flooring with granite tiles and SCT Flooring not only gave me the best price by far, but also showed up on time as promised and took care to properly prepare for the job before starting to tear out existing tiles. Stewart was willing to work late in order to complete the schedule on time. The end result was beyond my expectations based on my prior experience with other so-called renovation companies.I have nothing but praise for Stewart at SCT Flooring and the exceptional job he did. I without hesitation would recommend him to anyone else.

    Hardwood floor installation

    Stewart did a good job installing hardwood floor in my house. It took eventually a bit longer than planned but at the end of the day it’s worth- very reasonable price, clean, good communication. Certainly recommend his service.

    Tiling an area of almost 300 sq. ft.

    I found Stu through Handy Canadian and I am really glad I did. He came to my house to see the project we had for him, he gave us an estimate for both time and money... And he was right on both! He did an exceptional job, I had my brother from the States to help me install my laminate and even him was very impressed with the quality of the job. He gave us some feedback in some problem we had with a step he wanted modify and he clearly explained every detail we asked him for about the job clearly and without a problem... Since this was a new house and we were not leaving in it yet I trusted Stu with the keys for the house and garage were I was beggining to store my stuff for the move. We told Stu we would be more than happy if he gives our number as references in case he wanted any future customer to check for references. I would hire Stu in a heart beat, in fact we are just waiting for his quote on the backsplash for our kitchen in natural stone and we will go with him with our eyes closed! Thanks Stu, our kitchen and foyer looks excellent!
