Safari Plumbing were very friendly and helpful when I was explaining my plumbing problem. They fixed the problem promptly and showed me how to avoid a problem in the future. I will definitely call them again if I have a plumbing problem.

Replacing the Moen faucet pop-up plug in bathroom pedestsal sink

I cannot fairly say that the plumber's (Larry) service exceeded my expectations because my expectations from Safari Plumbing were very high to start with. We had extremely good service provided from Safari Plumbing a few years ago (clogged kitchen sink drain), gotten the "royal treatment" and had been very impressed and agreed with everything that the company advertises. The only thing I regret this time was not calling David Sparling (owner) a few days earlier. I wasted my time looking for the part online because my husband was sure that he could install it himself - I found the part (no charge because of warranty) and my husband picked it up. He spent a few hours trying to figure out how to work at the back of a pedestal sink in a small bathroom. When I feared and he agreed that he would probably ruin the expensive sink & faucet by trying to lift the sink off its base, I had a flash inspiration! Why had we not called Safari Plumbing? My call for help was answered the same night (by the owner no less)and Larry showed up the next day rolling out the red carpet, putting on his slippers, assessing the situation and giving us a very simple explanation of what he could do and providing us with an estimate! He was very professional without being condescending (as some pros sometimes are with clients). He got the job done with a minimum of fuss and explained what he was doing. Then he took time to ascertain that everything else was alright (had been done the previous visit). He left as clean as he had come in (very clean and well dressed) and left the bathroom and entourage spotless also . I think we have learned something from this second experience - don't waste your time and stress yourself trying to fix it yourself - phone Safari Plumbing first. By the way, had we done that, we would have been provided with the correct part free of charge and it would have cost less in labour time... you see, we had misjudged which piece was broken and been provided with the wrong part which meant using one piece to fit in the old part, etc. If these two experiences have made us wiser, it was money well spent! Oh yes, as with the previous time, David Sparling called to verify that we were completely satisfied and followed up with a Thank You card from Safari Plumbing.

Reconnecting plumbing after a new vanity installed

Here is what happened to us. We had a vanity replaced in our en-suite bathroom and needed a plumber to reconnect 2 new sinks and 2 faucets to the existing pipes. We called Safari Plumbing. They told us they can do the job, but they warned us that they would have to charge us $79 dollars for the visit to make the work estimate. We agreed. Their plumber, Bruce comes in. Without asking too many questions or explaining too much he writes down his findings and presents us with a cost estimate of $1370 + HST. When in disbelief we ask him why the cost is so shockingly high. He says that the existing pipes are incorrectly installed and we would need the walls to be cut out and the pipes to be re-worked, and then we would need to bring in someone else to fix the walls (for extra cost) later. Please note, the original plumbing was professionally done by Minto up to the code and passed all the inspections 10 years ago. Anyway, of course we would not agree to this madness. We had to invite another plumber who agreed to do the job for $200 including taxes. There was a tiny challenge in this job, completely unrelated to what the Safari plumber was imagining. Otherwise, this job would probably cost even less. Please save yourself any frustration and find anybody but Safari Plumbing to do the job.

Bruce, the plumber we sent to your home, has over 30 years of experience and is licensed and certified by the Province of Ontario. He did a thorough evaluation of the old vs. new drain work and surmised that to have the new drains installed correctly, some changes would have to be made at the connections in the wall. Bruce and I both feel that it is very important that the drains in your home be installed correctly and properly to prevent sewer and methane gases from entering your home. Children in the home with breathing difficulties could be disastrously affected by coming into contact with these gases. If you find yourself noticing a bad odour in your home, please call us or the services of another licensed plumbing company to investigate. Leaving the problem could make you or your family very sick. Should you notice any bad odours and wish for us to return and redo the work correctly, we would be happy to do so for the original quoted price.

    Kitchen Tap Repair

I have used Safari Plumbing on two occasions. I was very pleased with how quickly they came to do the service calls. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to explain the problems and kept everything very clean. On their first visit, they checked the plumbing system and did the safety audit of the house. I would not hesitate to use them again. I recommend them very highly. Thank you David Sparling and your staff. Charlotte

    Fixed Leak in bathtub

I had been holding off for a long time on getting the leak in my bathtub fixed, by using the other washrooms instead. I finally contacted Safari Plumbing and wished I had contacted them sooner. The gentleman that showed up was very friendly and professional. He explained the problem and how to resolve it. He had the leak fixed in an hour and everything has been working great ever since. He also went on to explain other ways to make sure no leaks occur in the house. I would absolutely refer any of my friends and family to Safari Plumbing again. Thanks. Debbie

    Main drain unclogged

When replacing the water heater in our basement we discovered that the main drain was clogged. I decided to call Safari Plumbing based on the good reviews in HomeStars and they performed up to their reputation. They were punctual and very professional. They were polite and communicated clearly. I would like to commend them also for their cleanliness, starting with their uniforms and with their work. After the work was finished, they followed up in a very pleasant manner.

    Service

From the start, David was forthcoming and upfront of the charges. We saw a great review so we hired them (even if they charged a small surcharge for being outside their usual zone). After the plumber arrived and surveyed the work to be done, he gave an upfront estimate and stuck to it. The work was done quick and he completely cleaned up after himself. The work was a little pricy because he had to put a hole in a finished ceiling to access the outside tap connection and had to replace a old valve that was not properly installed. Before leaving, they went over best practices for winter maintenance and such. Great work! Also, great, positive follow up from the president himself!! I cannot remember the plumbers name that came over to my place, but he was so courteous and down to earth. It is nice to have a friendly plumber that is willing to talk you through what he is doing. I will call them back for sure if ever I need a plumber again (this work was well done and is guaranteed for a year so it is worth it!)

    Watger Softener Installation

From the moment I booked out appointment we were treated with respect by some of the most professional people in the trades business. David called us several times keeping us abreast as to what time Terry would arrive for the initial appointment. During the initial appointment, we were told what the cost would be and the invoice reflected his estimate to the penny. Terry's workmanship is outstanding. The added piping was left neat and tidy. Once he installed the system, he took the time to show us how it worked and what we could expect. The appearance of both Terry and his apprentice were neat and tidy. They showed up wearing the same uniform and even wore booties to ensure our floors remained clean. When the job was completed, Terry even took the time to take a look at our outdoor tap as it was leaking and we wanted to know if it required a plumber to repair it. He told us what to do, saving us additional costs. Once again we were surprised with their quality of service when, 2 days after the installation, we received a call from the owner, David, asking us if we were satisfied with the work and if there was anything they could do to improve their service. Thank you David, Terry, and Nora for making our experience with Safari Plumbing not only enjoyable but educational at the same time. Keep up the great work! We'll be sure to contact you again when the need arises!

    Kitchen Sink & Taps

We are very satisfied with Safari Plumbing. Promptness of returned calls and arrival of plumber at door - Options presented in cost estimate as to I do or they do. Bruce was very professional - efficient, clean & honest. Redoing pipes under the sink - increased storage space in the cupboard - all plumbing was brought up to code. Appreciated follow-up call from Owner ( David) after work was completed - Customer satisfaction is certainly one of the values of this company!
