    Upgrading New Water Heater

I just had moved into my new house and I get a knock on the door from Mor energy. They told me that they had some promotion going on that they will replaced my water heater for free. They went to the basement and look at my water heater and they told me that my water heater tank was leaking. They showed me where it was leaking from and what not. It didn't seem to be leaking at the time but it looked their was a little bit of rust on the top. Well anyways I agreed for them to replace my water heater because they got this new green and enviromentally friendly water heater. So their main sticking point was that no matter what my bill each month will be 22 dollars for the water heater and will never go up. Well the other day I checked my bill and the water heater now costs 27.42 a month plus tax. I'm going to look for the contract I signed and read through it to see what I can do to recoup the costs as its been three years now!

Misleading Sales Tactics, terrible customer service

Beware of this company, Sales guy came to my door telling me they were the company representing my current hot water unit rental company. Being a new houseowner and having them confirm who it was that I purchased the home for, I believed them. They told me that the pipes had to be replaced at no cost to me and that everything would continue as usual. It wasn't until the technicians came in to replace the pipes that I discovered they also replaced the unit. On realizing at that point that something was up, I realized they had mislead me and now snagged me into a rental agreement with them. I cancelled within the 10 day cooling off period, but still have to pay the $300 for their dishonesty.

    morEnergy - water heater rental

Becoming a morEnergy customer has been the biggest mistake I have made as a home owner. As a naive customer I was taken in by the smooth-talking salesman who knocked on my newly purchased home one day. He persuaded me to sign a contract entitling me to a new energy efficient water heater at a lower cost than I was currently paying for the old heater in my basement. Great. The new unit arrived promptly and was installed quickly. They even took the old unit away at no extra charge. Six months later I discovered water all over the floor of my basement. I called morEnergy immediately only to be passed from one operator to another, and no one was going to be able to help me out! After many frustrating calls over a period of 12 hours, I finally was able to secure a repair tech's services by 10 pm the following night: this after demanding to speak to a manager and threatening to have the unit removed and replaced by another service provider. It didn't seem to matter to anyone a morEnergy that I had young children at home in need of hot water. Keep in mind, this unit was brand new and the cause of the leak was a faulty tube within the unit. The entire unit had to be replaced. Imagine my surprise when less than four months later, I went downstairs to find water spraying out of the top of the unit: another flood. Again, it took me at least 12 hours to finally reach someone at morEnergy who was willing to help me. Again, it took an irate customer demanding to speak to a manger before I could finally secure some service. And because they didn't have a service technician to send out that week (yes, that week), I had to arrange my own technician to fix the problem: at my expense! Again, the problem was with the unit, though this time a repair was sufficient. Seems the rental costs do not include warranting the company's goods. Several years later I decided to sell my home and move elsewhere. The new home's water heater, thank fully, was not serviced by morEnergy. After many attempts to cancel my existing service prior to my move, I had failed to speak to anyone who was willing to complete the transaction. Apparently the company is eager to make your acquaintance and secure your business, but it is impossible to sever ties with them. I was re-directed to many different departments and personnel, I was provided with no less than four phone numbers to call: still I was unable to cancel the service. Finally I resorted to putting a stop payment on my bank account. But the crafty company circumvented that by changing the withdrawal amount (with no notice I might add), and the date of withdrawal. Amazing huh? It is not worth contracting with morEnergy. Their products prove to be poor quality, their customer service is abysmal, and their standard of practice unethical. I can not find anything good to say about this company.

    MISREP

A salesman from Mor energy went to my moms house and force his way in and told her that he was from Enbridge and it was time to change the hot water tank, My mom is a senoir and it's very sad when people take advantage of Senoirs. He asked my mom to sign and told her someone would be back the next day to change HWT. Well I put A stop to that. I called next morning and cancelled, The customer service Rep was very understanding and did say that alot of their salespeople are aggressive and they usally get alot of these complaints.. Beware of Mor energy, From Toronto in the Dufferin and Eglinton Area .. PS, Contract was messy and Sales person didn't even leave his name or number..What a Coward, he was Portugese speaking.

Whats the big deal over switching water heater providers. I switched to Mor Energy when the representative came by and told me their was no charge to upgrade, why not my tank was 10 years old and when I called Direct Energy to ask them if I should switch my tank they told me that I didnt need to and that they wouldnt do it for me. Question: how the heck do they know if I need to if knowone has ever come by my house in 10 years to check it, Whose the scammer here? why should i keep renting and old tank from Direct Energy when I can rent a new one!

    MorEnergy

I have done some extensive research on this company and found them to be quit reputable. They are offering some good or should I say great reductions on the bill not mentioning the equipment. I ask you to ask your service provider who is responsible for servicing on the unit you have in your home and those that need to be serviced whos pocket does it come out of. I have found with morenergy they do all the servicing and changes at get this NO CHARGE to you the consumer therefore saving you a pile of money on servicing and maintenance. That is right they do the servicing free of charge and maintenance free of charge. The only thing the other provider does is replace your unit if it has something happen to it that cannot be done by servicing. The only thing that they do is replace a ruptured tank. So ask yourself this question, do you want to pay for a service charge and parts to repair your hot water tank or would you like someone to do it free of charge to you the consumer?? You decide!!

    Hot water heater

Door to door rep misrepresented himself as part of Reliant Energy, with whom I happily deal for heater and furnace. Sensed something wrong, thankfully, and did not commit. I have had enough experience with door to door sales that are intentionally vague that I immediately smelled something that wasn't right. He actually made it to my basement (to check the "age" of my Reliant water heater that had been installed only two years ago - said it was at least 10 years old and that they had installed an old one) before I got really uncomfortable and was glad that there were other workmen in my house coincidentally.

    Water Heater, Bundles

Ok, so I'm not that excited, it is just a water heater after all. But after hearing so much talk about all these scammers, I was shocked at how painless the whole process was. My tank was 15 yrs old, needed replacing. I called the company to make sure the agent had told me the truth about everything, he had. They came for the install two days later, it took about two hours and all is well. This was about two months ago, I save about 7 bucks a month, he quoted me 9 so not bad!!! My rental rate is also way lower cuz I bundled with a couple of their other products!

    Water Heater Replacement

A representative of MorEnergy came to my door saying they are under contract with Direct Energy and they are inspecting water heaters and replacing them if they are old. The water heater in my home is 17 years old so this representative of MorEnergy said we are eligible to have it replaced with a new water heater. I gave my approval believing this company was working for Direct Energy. The water heater was installed and it appears to be a good product and the service was okay. However, I now find out that MorEnergy is NOT affiliated with Direct Energy and I now have a water heater rental with MorEnergy and not Direct Energy. I did NOT want to switch away from Direct Energy but I was tricked into making the switch due to MorEnergy's misrepresentation. I have reported this company to the Consumer Protection Agency, but the money, time, and effort it would take to take legal action against MorEnergy is prohibitive. All I can do is try to warn other people about MorEnergy's poor sales tactics and misrepresentation. If MorEnergy shows up at your door.....SEND THEM AWAY.....unless you are ok with switching your business away from Direct Energy.
