Kitchen, laundry room and powe room renovation

My husband and I bought a new house two years ago and we were planning to upgrade our kitchen, laundry and powder room as we got a very basic rooms from the builder. We started looking for contractors and after meeting with more than five we decided to go with P & P Renovations. From the very beginning we were impressed with this company, very detailed estimate, reasonable price, very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and hardworking people. They started and finished the renovation exactly on the scheduled dates and the renovation process was just perfect. On the kitchen they installed new quartz countertop with waterfall on one side, new backsplash, new under cabinet lights and pot lights on the ceiling; on the laundry (where we only had a plastic sink and laundry machines) they installed new sink with faucet, base cabinet beside laundry machines, new Formica countertop and a shelf on one wall; lastly on the powder room we got a beautiful vanity and new toilet installed. They painted the three spaces and also upgraded the carpentry (baseboards and door trims); the result: kitchen, laundry and powder room are the most beautiful rooms in our house: AMAZING JOB!!!! Thank you very much to Natanael, Mario (our project manager) and to the rest of the P & P team for making our dream comes true. Thank you for your consideration with our two small children, as we know how hard is everything with small kids around. We would highly recommend P & P to all our friends and family and we will definitely use them for all our future renovation projects.

Floor renovation of my Family Room

I recently renovated my floor in the family room. The work was renovated and supervised by Mario from P & P Renovations. I was very satisfied with the work because they arrived punctual on time, worked very quickly and were polite. In the future, I will contact this company again soon.

    Bathroom Reno

We were nervous to rip apart our master bathroom and have a bunch of contractors going through our house but it worked out amazingly well. P&P Renovations, especially Mario and Antonio, were very professional. His constant updates on the status of the different stages of the project really made us feel at ease. The tile work and the custom design work was the best we have ever seen. They helped us select the vanity and suggested light fixtures and made small changes to our shower layout that make the shower look a lot larger. They took care of all the little details that other contractors have totally ignored with us. Amazing and we'd use them again.

    Full house Reno

A while back, my husband and I purchased our first home. We knew it needed updating which involved renovating, so we called P&P Renovations to get a quote. We were very impressed with Natanael’s knowledge and the way he explained what needed to get done. His quote was very detailed and thorough which made hiring him an easy choice. He also recommended a designer he works with, Alona, whom we also ended up hiring. She created an amazing layout that suited our needs, sourced finishes that met our style/budget and worked alongside with the project manager Rafael to ensure the design was carried out as we envision. The construction team was excellent! Each day there was progress; the site was kept tidy and if an issue came up, Rafael would promptly inform us, while always providing a solution. We are so pleased that we hired both MAJ Interiors and P&P Renovations. And we plan on doing it again! With a growing family, we recently sold our house over asking and purchased a new home that we plan on turning into our dream house with the help of Alona and Natanael! We will be calling as soon as our new house closes. We highly recommend this amazing team of talented professionals for any future renovations!

    Full home renovation

We hired P&P after our first contractor gutted our home down to the joists and then ran off with our deposit. P&P has renewed our faith in the industry. From the beginning to end of our project, owner Nataneal was dedicated to ensuring quality work was delivered on budget and on time. His pride in his work is unmistakable and we always looked forward to his enthusiastic walk-throughs showing us his progress. P&P provides a very detailed quotation that clearly sets out the scope of work so you know what to expect. This was especially important to us because ours was an extensive and long project. When amendments were needed (and we confess that we asked for many!), Natanael was always patient and quickly adjusted the quotation. After the fiasco with our first contractor, it was reassuring to have quick access to Natanael and his crew who always took time to fully answer our questions (even what were likely stupid questions) and who took our concerns seriously and addressed them. The P&P crew are hard workers, they are reliable, they are punctual, they stay until needed, they are clean and tidy, they are polite and a delight to have around. Rafael and Javier were the core members of the crew working in our house and we have ONLY wonderful things to say about them. No renovation goes entirely smoothly - the test is in how the bumps are dealt with. P&P was there from beginning to end to make sure that the work was completed, that the work was done right and to bring the project in on budget and on time (if not early). These are the reasons why P&P deserves our 10/10 rating. We have already heartily recommended P&P to friends, family and passers-by admiring our house, and we are pleased to recommend them here. We love our ‘new’ house. Big thanks and much appreciation to Natanael, Rafael, Javier and the rest of the crew.

Kitchen Planning and renovations + Main Floor Floring

First Nathanael was very available to help us build our vision. He was able to guide us through each step to complete such a project. Certainly the quote was not the cheapest, but it had not been the most expensive. And the result was worth it! Not only Natanael and his team did a quality job, but they also accompanied us in the choice of certain materials, while respecting our budget. The result was astonishing, beyond our imagination. The kitchen continues to charm us, our family and firends. Furthermore, Natanael’s team is very professional, clean (they always left the rooms in which they worked clean and tidy) and friendly. They were able to be sensitive to our situation, as we had a 4 month old baby at home during construction. Not to be neglect, we highly appreciate that the team completed the work on time. Yes, we highly recommend Natanael and we’ve already hired him for another project!

    Bathroom renovation and harwood flooring

Recently we hired P&p to work on my 20 year old house, which we bought from the builder and it was a bit updated, after months of looking into some contractors we find Natanel, he was very straightforward and gave us clear ideas on how to proced with the work, after a couple of day he came back with a very detail scope of work explaining everything we wanted and more, so we decided to go ahead. We are so thankful we found them Rafael, Javier and all the trades were so eficiants and work long hours everyday keeping us informed about all the work done day by day, always at the end of the day they took the time to explain everything they work on during the day, we made a great choice by having them work on our house and we will recomend them to all of our family and friends, thanks to P&p we have a beautiful ensuite and amazing horwood floors. Great job.

After searching a few companies to go on with my bathroom renovations I decided to choose P&P Renovations as the company has great reviews online. I am very satisfied with the professionalism and dedication at the workplace of the employees that perform the makeovers. Nathaniel has a big knowledge about the business and he was very detailed on how the renovation would be done. The crew was very punctual, organized and they finished the job exactly when the deadline was set. I will definitely hired and recommend P&P for future renovations and truly thanks Nathaniel and the entire team for a fantastic job.

Kitchen Renovation, Floor install, remove wall

We hired P&P based upon the excellent ratings on Homestars, after reading the reviews and meeting with Natanael. We had met with several other contractors, and had a design already that we hoped to realize working with P&P. Natanael impressed us right away with his knowledge, enthusiasm and confidence that they could build us our “dream kitchen” on time and on budget. (Our "approximate cost" of $18,000 was what we paid P&P; with what we paid for materials our total cost of the renovation was approximately $32,000.) Our job was in an older home in downtown Brampton that required the removal of the wall between our kitchen and dining room, to create an open-concept eat-in kitchen, using materials from IKEA. The project would require plumbing, electrical, moving radiators, a new bamboo floor that went beyond our new kitchen into our living room and entry way, plus a new ceiling. With the timeline of a month, we were happy that the work would be done quickly and with very little wait time before the project began. To be fair, some clients may be more comfortable with this kind of general contracting work. Ultimately we found it made matters difficult when we needed to negotiate around costs. Do we love our new kitchen? Absolutely. With gorgeous new floors, brilliant Caesarstone countertops, and a very functional layout, we’re pleased to see our dream become a reality. The project was on time and within our promised budget, give or take a few thousand dollars for extras that we were warned of ahead of time and that we agreed to. It is worth noting though that some costs were clearly communicated, while others remained undisclosed, even when we would ask—we know the Caesarstone countertop material we chose cost $900 extra, but neither Natanael nor the countertop provider would tell us how much the actual cost was per square foot, or what portion of our total bill had been allotted to the cost of the counter. A detailed cost breakdown is not part of the project. You simply have to trust that you’re getting your money’s worth. We want to say up front that the workers on the crew, especially Maurizio and Mario, were on time, stayed long hours, and were extremely polite and pleasant to have in our home. We were unaware at the time that we began our project that there would be as many sub-contractors as there were, for painting, electrical and radiator plumbing. When we were unhappy with the work of the radiator guys, Natanael fired them immediately, and hired someone new to correct the problem with no additional cost to us. The electricians did do a very good job, however, there was a miscommunication as we had specifically requested an inspection of the electrical work and that was never done. If you want an inspection you must make sure to get it in writing from Natanael at the start of the job! While we love our countertop, its installation left something to be desired: our island's countertop is not properly centered, with a 1” overhang on one side and 2” on the other, making reaching the drawer handles on the big side particularly awkward. Finally, on a good note, the guy who did the drywalling and mudding was a true artist and brought a level of professionalism that was remarkable, doing some of the best work we’ve ever seen. For a company with “painting” in its name, we were disappointed with the quality of the painting that was done. We can’t tell if the painters were inexperienced or just rushed—parts of the room had only one coat of paint, and some of the cutting in was done poorly. Ultimately, we felt we could do a better job ourselves, and so at the end we chose not to have them come back a third time to fix what likely wouldn’t get better. In the end, even though we love our kitchen, to be fair to HomeStars readers, we want to share that there were some hiccups in the process. As with any reno, this is to be expected, and most were corrected by Natanael or the crew on the spot. On the other hand, some required insistence on our part. Quite often they were reachable by phone, email or text, and we frequently got very quick responses to our queries. But sometimes, near the end, we could go for days with no contact at all. There were inconsistencies in the communication, to be sure. Like other reviewers have mentioned, in the final week of our project our main crew was reassigned to their next, bigger, more important project, which, we feel, created the problem. We were left with one novice worker who had to figure out how to do our tile backsplash (and didn’t do a very good job), plus he had to do a number of the finishing touches on our project, with very little guidance. Though he was a super nice guy, his lack of knowledge and experience was unfortunate for us, because in the last week many of the finishing touches were completed, and there are some imperfect details that remain most noticeable to us today. Without our expert crew on site in that last week, we were left feeling like there wasn’t as much care put into the end as there was in the beginning—a poor strategy on P&P’s behalf. At the very end of the project, we were grateful to Mario who returned for an extra day to finish off some final details, but by then we just wanted it to be over, and in spite of his skill, we felt some things—like that backsplash—just couldn’t be fixed. P&P offers excellent work, for the most part, at an affordable price. We are grateful to the crew for their work on our great new kitchen.

    Basement renovation

We needed to get our basement renovated - add a bathroom, get some electrical wiring done, add a laundry room. Rafael was the project manager and Rafael and his entire team was very impressive, efficient and completed the project ahead of time. Rafael was very reliable and both, my wife and I are working and had to trust him with access to the whole house. We felt very comfortable doing so which was very important for us. Rafael kept us up to speed with the progress every day and coordinated very well. He also went out of his way to help us fix small work outside of the contract at no additional cost. We really enjoyed working with Rafael and would recommend this service.
