My move was a difficult move because of stairs and heavy furniture. These guys were fast, given the circumstances, pleasant, and very careful with my stuff. I would definitely hire them again.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Thank you so much for helping us with our move yesterday. The boys were lovely and worked very hard. It did take a bit longer than we thought but at the end of the day the price was fair. I am very pleased to have found your company and will recommend you to friends.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

My girlfriend and I decided it was time to move, we were on the third floor of our apartment building and we had alot of heavy bulky items to move, with no elevator to aid us. i quickly realized we were going to need some help, so i jumped onto homestars to find us a cheap reliable moving company and i came across careful movers. I called them right away and Austin said that he'd book me for the next day at 9'oclock. The next day they were here 20 min early and had all their equipment set up before they were even supposed to be here, i was really impressed. they managed to get everything out of my apartment and into my new place in 4 1/2 hrs, they managed to carry all my stuff down 3 flights of stairs and up another one in the other house, all with out scratching a wall or anything breaking. when they were loading the truck all our furniture was either shrunk wrapped or wrapped up in pads. even our glass table top which weighs close to 130+lbs made it out unscathed. I thought for sure that was the one thing that wouldent make it, but it did. I am very pleased with their work and i would gladly recommend careful movers to any one. Thank you guys you did an amazing jobReview from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 1 Nov 2010Rating: 5 out of 5Large home move.
We live in a larger home of roughly 6,000SF. After reading online reviews we decided to use Careful Movers. Our home's furniture is expensive for us (Robert Sweep, Home Evolution, Block, custom tables, chairs, sideboards, etc.) and we are quite particular about details. The guys worked 10 hours straight through and did not stop until completed. Everything of value was shrinkwrapped, blankets were used to buffer items onboard the truck, and they made 2 trips between our homes plus one to our storage unit without incidence. The only time they stopped was for a few minutes when my wife asked them to take a break to have the breakfast and lunches she brought over for them. They were all personable and Scott was extremely helpful in coordinating their efforts and ensure everything from moving small vases to parking the large truck was done perfectly. We tipped them generously because our philosophy is everyone should make a good living if they do a good job. These guys killed themselves all day for us, made a potentially unpleasant situation very pleasant, and overall made our day stress free. Today I met with Austin and again, fantastic service. He took inventory of the boxes we returned and promptly gave us credit back. He was there during the hours he stated he would be and the other guys at the office handled removing the boxes from our vehicle. The approximate cost of $2,500 I listed included the moving charges, the boxes, gratuity, tax, and the food we purchased. Given the size of job we feel that we received great value and more importantly, excellent service.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Well my tale of moving isnt very good. I got in a fight with my roommate for the last time. After the cops were called I called Austin advised him of the situation and the next morning he had a crew out to help me move my stuff into storage. They were quick and efficient and got it all out of the house i was staying at without any problems, and over to the storage locker where they stacked it all nice and neat.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Local move on December 16, 2009 - Major wall and furnature damage. On December 21 Austin told me it would be repaired on December 28. I even confirmed the date as many compainies were using Dec 28 as the boxing day stat. Austin assured me that either the man would be at my house or cat the very least all me on December 28 to make arrangements to make the repairs. Waited home all day for a repairman or call that did not come. The call came on Tuesday, January 21 from the repair person Ken. This is one month after my initial conversation with Austin and TWENTY-THREE DAYS from the date the work was to be done. On the day of the move mud was tracked through out our old home as well as the brand new (just built) home we were moving into. I asked about removing their shoes and was told they could not. I asked for extra floor matts to be laid out and was told this would be done. The extra floor mats were the dirty ones from the old hours. The moving team commented on many of our items. One fellow did try taking his shoes off at the door and his co-workers told him to stop doing that. They played with my husbands expensive bicycle, almost dropped furnature off the back of the truck, and was visibaly annoyed at not being allowed to walk the patio furnature through the house to the back deck. In the end they were asked to leave things on the living room floor and my husband put them in the correct room. When I returned to the old home to clean it the hardwood in the living room was scratched and dented from the movers shrink wrapping the couch and chair. They have a wooded base and had difficulty holding it while wrapping it. Although Austin cannot control what his team does when outside of the office he can control what happens with follow up customer service. For this he gets an F! My husband has since repaired the damaged wall and furnature. You can imagine that showing a new house with holes in the walls is embarassing. Austin knows who we are and can call to make this right at any time.Answer from pro:
It is pretty impressive that the customer has the right to lie on the internet about a company. Now I am not saying there was no damage as I admit Tracey had called me about 2 small holes in her drywall and also that her old dresser was coming apart on the seams where the staples are. Now Tracey also told me that because the holes were so small that her husband had tried to fix them and mentioned to me that although they were fixed no problem they still did not look professional. I informed her that I had no problem sending my repair guy "Ken" out to her home to see if he can redo her husbands work to make it look the way it should and also he would be pushing the staples back in for them on the dresser. I then told her Ken was on holidays for the christmas holidays and that i was not sure exactly when he would be back. Now if Tracey was that concerned about her supposed damage being fixed on the 28th I ask you why have I not heard anything until now? tracey has my phone number and could have called if she was upset with anything or figured we were supposed to show up on a certain day instead of supposedly sitting around all day waiting for us. And please dont try and blame us for your scratches on your floor, my movers have informed me that they are older scratches and were from you guys putting a couch with a wooden base on a hardwood floor, just not a smart idea if your going to do that put something soft under the wood to protect your hardwood while you are using your couch if you dont obviously you will get the normal scratches as a cause of it. I have since tried to contact tracey to discuss this with no response which hoestly does not surprise me I probably wil not hear from her again until I read another comment from her somewhere on the internet. If you have any questions or concerns about this "complaint" please call me at 403 671 2234 and I would be more than happy to talk to you. Austin McKinnon General Manager Careful Movers Calgary
