Customer Service: Excellent overall - very professional, good communication - phone calls or emails returned the same day or by the next day. Very detailed estimate delivered as scheduled. Promptly arrived at the time scheduled, nice team of people. I didn't have any concerns about leaving the house while workers were there. Archiel was very patient with questions I had regarding types of lock, finishes, door glass. He is clearly knowledgeable about the quality of doors, locks and I felt confident about his knowledge. The scheduling of the actual installation was a little more delayed than I expected, in part because I had questions about the finish of the door and there may have been a communication problem with the person doing the scheduling. If you make it a point to follow up, this won't likely be an issue at all.
Archiel is also very flexible regarding what type of lock, glass you want to use, etc but you will need to do the research on these options. Archiel does provide some websites to point you in the right direction.
Product - installation of door done professionally including weatherstripping. The house is a lot warmer now! Regarding aesthetics, the finish of the door was darker and more towards "maroon", less "wood" like appearance than I had expected. I was looking for a walnut finish. I have seen fibreglass doors with finishes that are hard to distinguish from real wood. I wouldn't say that is true of my door because the colour is too maroon/burgundy. If you are particular about the finish, I would ask for an actual sample of the colour at the time of estimate. The Interior door frame - you should know that it will be unstained which I was aware after clarifying the estimate. I have an old house with a lot of moulding on doors and I think there were was a good attempt to re-create the frame after the old one was taken down but it isn't identical to the previous style. In part this was because their lumbar source didn't carry the same moulding, in part this was because some details were overlooked - to match the previous style, the wood piece over the door should be a little wider than the width of the door frame to give it the same "grand" appearance. The final product is fine, just not exactly what I expected. Of note, other companies would not even try to mimic the old style - they would plan to put in a plain wood frame around the door so what was installed by Sobol is better than I would have gotten from other companies. Again, if you are very particular, you would have to speak up to get the result you want.
Overall - I would definitely recommend Sobol Installation. For my next door however, I would ask to see samples of the actual finish at the time of the estimate so I would know exactly what the final product would be. I would also be more specific about the details of the wood frame recreated around the door.
