Replacement of a number of lights, installation of a new pot light and new under-cupboard lighting and updating to code.

This company was great to deal with right from the beginning. The estimate was provided quickly and professionally. The team that came to do the work — Don, Grant, and Ray — were great. They worked efficiently and quickly and with great patience in explaining everything to us. They responded readily to last minute adjustments (where to locate switches, etc.), were neat and cleaned up carefully afterwards and were very pleasant to deal with throughout. I would definitely use their services again and highly recommend them.

Installation of light fixtures, pot lights, kitchen under-cabinet lighting.

Bryan visited our home to gather information for a quote. He was very efficient and observant and explained our options. The quote was very thorough, well itemized and with reasonable costs. The work order included installation of two chandeliers and 3 additional light fixtures, pot lights in family room, kitchen under-cabinet lighting, new smoke alarm, installation of outdoor post lamp, surge protector and repair of two wall outlets. Joe and Andre were the names of the installers who were both very competent and pleasant. We have had no issues since the installation 2 weeks ago.

    Excellent Service!

I would highly recommend this company for its friendly, timely and helpful customer service. Krystle went above and beyond, which was greatly appreciated. I had pot-lights installed in my kitchen. I'm very happy with how they look :)

    Replacing of light fixtures

Stay away from this company. I have used them several times in the past but they have since gone downhill. I live in Orleans and just paid $1,480.30 to have 7 new light fixtures installed. One light was installed crooked, the switch plate on the wall was very crooked, the ceiling fan was not installed properly and had to be re-installed, the wall remote holder for my ceiling fan was installed upside-down, I paid for dimmer switches on the main floor and regular switches were installed, I paid for 2 outside potlights to be put back flush and 1 wasn't done (no communication was given for this - they just left it sticking out). In addition to this, loose screws were left on the floor on my basement carpet that I keep stepping on (there were 4). The day after having all these installed one of the ceiling fans wasn't working. I called the company to come back and fix the potlight, the ceiling fan and the plate on the wall that was severely crooked. With all the issues that I was encountering I was embarrassed to flag the plate and the potlight the day the guys were on-site. On the day of my work I was told that I would have 3 electricians, instead I had 1 and an apprentice. I also had items on my invoice that the owner couldn't specifically identify what they were for except to say that he puts that on all his invoices - it was $50 for wire surcharge for increasing prices in wire and $50 for shop supplies. I did add one ceiling light that was not there before, but it couldn't have used more than one 4' piece of wire. After all these issues, the owner wants me to pay another $250 to come back and install a piece into the ceiling fan because it wasn't working. I understand if the piece wasn't his company's fault, but you would think that he would provide good customer service and either put the piece in as a courtesy or at least at a discounted rate because of all of the mistakes that I have encountered. Nobody should work for free yet I never charged him for the time it took out of my day for him to come back to fix the work his technicians improperly did. This company is only after your money and has no customer service skills. Very disappointed. I was also going to use them to install my hot tub but their installation quote was $1,500 higher than my other quotes. Never again. I also know of another unhappy customer as well. Oh - and I got my ESA certificate from this job but no one ever came on-site to inspect the work that was done - not quite sure how that works - paid $145 for a piece of paper.

Hi Penny We do apologize that you had a negative experience with us. As always we send 2-3 employees to a site, we of course participate in Ontarios apprenticeship program and keep to the ratios, so for your project 1 electrician and 1 apprentice. Unfortunately with a lot of homes, existing electrical boxes may have been originally installed not as satisfactory "straight" as one would hope - we can not take fault from their installations. With the current pandemic, the price of wire has increased about 80%, we account for this by the wire surcharge that everyone can now see on their Quote(meaning it is agreed upon prior to work being scheduled) and it explains on the line item why it is there. Shop supplies cover all the small items required for your project as well as the PPE to ensure everyone is Covid compliant and that we are able to do our part to safely continue working in Ontario. The existing exterior pot light that is still not perfectly flush is damaged and we did not supply nor install it, it requires replacement as mentioned. As for the request for a free service call for the ceiling fan that requires replacement, unfortunately we do not offer this as my staff deserve to be compensated for the work that they do. As for the ESA permit, we do not have any say on their permit prices and whether or not an inspector does a physical inspection or if they pass it with no visit. This is also explained on the quote and invoice. We wish you all the best in your future reno projects Sincerely, Ring Electric Inc.

    Adding outlets and replacing switches

Derek and Joe were extremely professional. They showed up on-time and cleaned up after themselves, leaving the exact result I had been promised. I would recommend Ring Electric in a heartbeat and wouldn't hesitate to use them again for any future jobs.

    post tornado electrical damage

I called Ring Electric following electrical damage from tornado of 2018. My insurance company had sent an agent out twice previously and indicated there was no issue, despite furnace panel melting, electrical buzzing noises and lights flickering throughout house. Bryan came by and did an extensive assessment. He was systematic and thorough in explaining the problem and detailing the solution. As a single mother with 4 children, I was exhausted with going up against the insurance company. Bryan graciously and successfully advocated on my behalf, writing a professional letter outlining problem. His competent team came in over several days and was amazing - personable, professional, and amazing with my kids around. I would challenge anyone to find a better company of electricians.

Basement circuit & whole house surge protector

I selected Ring because of the proximity to Stittsville. Bryan came and did the estimate and explained how things would work. The electrician arrived at little early and was in the basement at the scheduled time. He explained what he was going to do and he showed me where everything would be installed. He worked very efficiently and was finished and cleaned up in two hours - just as promised. Excellent work and I will certainly call Ring again for any future work.

    Basement Outlets

I chose Ring electric to wire outlets in my basement because other people recommended them, and they lived up to the recommendation. Highly professional throughout the process, their quote was detailed, they answered all the questions I had, they came in and did the job efficiently and explained everything they were doing, and finally the pricing was very reasonable. About the highest compliment I can give a company (and Ring qualifies) is that a) I would hire them again and b) I would recommend them to other folks needing work done.

    connection problem

A newly installed ceiling fixture did not work, and we suspected a problem with the wiring to the fixture. After contacting the company, we were given a time within the week and also a confirmation call with the name of the electrician and reviewing the COVID precautions. The problem was identified (wiring of one of the two wall switches connected to the fixture)and corrected within an hour. We were able to see the work being done and learn about the issue. Many thanks for the great service.

    Very happy with their work

We had 2 ceiling fans and a house surge protector installed. We found the cost very reasonable and out of 3 electricians Ring was the only company willing to come give an estimate for free. The work was done in half a day, everything cleaned up perfectly, and the installers were friendly and professional. COVID precautions were taken seriously, with the installers wearing masks and keeping 2m away at all times.
