Review from Joe, Woodbridge Review left on 4 Oct 2025Rating: 5 out of 5Install or repair water heaters: Replacement; Storage tankMy ancient (17+ yrs) water-heater started leaking, so I started looking for a replacement on a Friday afternoon. Alex and Ethan from Home Saving Inc installed a new water-heater for me on the Monday. I was OK with the delay vs. a weekend installation, as the leak had somehow stopped on its own, and we weren't without hot water. Price point was excellent compared to quotes from other contractors, although we were left to arrange return of our old rental tank on our own. The new tank has been working great. All in all, I'm very happy with the overall service provided by Home Saving Inc.Review from HomeStars User, Courtice HomeStars User, Courtice

Review left on 15 Jun 2025Rating: 2 out of 5Repair or maintain airconditioning: Not sure; 1 unitThomas charged me $100 to inspect the air conditioner. He determined that my condenser units capacitor is not strong enough to power the compressor. To replace the capacitor, he offered to charge me $200 more, which I declined. So he sold me the capacitor for $50 bucks and then left. Later I installed the new capacitor, but the air conditioner wasn't working. When I asked him to come back and figure out the real issue, he said the issue is the compressor, and did not come. Later when I replaced my air conditioner, it turned out to be a refrigerant leak. The compressor is actually working fine. Needless to say, he lost the sale. Though he did give me competitive quotes. I will not deal with this company again.Answer from pro:
We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your feedback. At Home Saving Heating & Cooling, we continuously strive to improve our service and ensure every customer is treated with honesty and respect. According to our technician’s report, your air conditioner was not operational upon arrival. The system was not running at all — which made it impossible to properly assess refrigerant levels at that time. In cases where the compressor is not functioning or running properly, checking for refrigerant is neither safe nor effective. Our technician diagnosed a weak capacitor, which measured only 50% of the manufacturer’s rated capacity — a common cause of compressor start-up failure. While we typically do not sell parts directly, the technician made an exception and sold you the capacitor at a discounted price, as a gesture of goodwill to help you proceed with a DIY repair. We will review this case internally to ensure better clarity and communication in the future

Review left on 22 May 2025Rating: 5 out of 5Install or replace thermostats: ReplacementWe thought we needed a new thermostat, but Thomas did a few diagnostic tests first to see if it was the furnace. As it turned out, it was a simple adjustment to the furnace - no replacement thermostat needed. We were very pleased and impressed with Thomas' explanation of everything involved with the repair and his advice for future repairs/replacement of furnace. He was very kind and professional. Would highly recommend!!Review from HomeStars user from Concord HomeStars user from Concord

Review left on 25 Oct 2023Rating: 5 out of 5New Heat Pump Installation (Government Rebate Qualified)
Everyone is replacing their old AC to new Heat Pump as government pushes out $7100 energy rebate. We didn't want to rush into this without conducting thorough research. After comparing multiple Chinese companies, we decided to go Home Savings Inc because of their honesty and professionalism. We have had 3-4 consultations with some of the very popular contractors in Markham. Most of them are selling hard, promoting the fact that you don't have to pay anything out of pocket and that all fees will be covered by rebates. However, it's extremely crucial that you find a company with qualified & skilled technicians to properly install the heat pump. That could be a key determination to how long your new heat pump will last. Research should also be done about different heat pump models that are being offered. We went with the top of the class brand, Trane, despite having to pay some additional money out of pocket. But we think it's worth it, due to its quality, warranty and after sales services. Leaving us feeling safe and secured about the new heat pump. Our sales representative was Thomas and Jacky was the technician that did our install. Home Savings do charge a bit more, but their goal is to focus on quality and not quantity. So essentially, you do kind of get what you pay for. If you are not knowledgeable in this field (which most of us are) and also don't want to stress about the after sales problems, make sure you find a trustworthy company to do the job right! So you can have a peace of mind in the long term.Answer from pro:
