Jose and his team recently installed a new Daikin 18,000 BTU ductless air conditioner on the main floor of our home. Jose came recommended by a contractor who had recently completed renovations in our home. We could not have been happier with the service and would not hesitate to recommend Jose and his team to others. We first reached out to Jose on a Friday and by 5:00pm on the following Tuesday the new unit was installed, running and our main floor was nice and cool! Jose was very quick to reply and to provide quotes, and walked us through the different options for air conditioning units. In the end we went with his recommended unit and are very happy with it. The work was completed quickly and the team spent a long time cleaning up when the job was done, so our house was left very clean when they left. They were very respectful while they were in our home. We have absolutely no complaints and would work with Jose on any air conditioning/heating jobs in the future.

Building Ideas replaced my 40-year-old gas furnace, installed the first central A/C in the house and also did some unassociated electrical installation. The considerations* I had in pre-selecting Building Ideas were: 1) A company with good reviews overall, a sufficient number of reviews for comfort, only good reviews; 2) Licensing and insurance; 3) Years in business; 4) Photographs of the workmanship; 5) Relative proximity; and 6) Warranty. Jose was quick to respond and when he came in for the quote he was on time, was able to answer my questions and subsequently provided a timely, written quote. Jose provided all the supporting documentation for the licensing and insurance, agreeable payment terms and a clear timeline for the work. An added factor in my deciding for Jose to do the work was that he is a licensed electrician. This was important to me because the first-time installation of A/C requires a dedicated electrical line from the panel – something that other bidding companies were willing to do despite not being licensed for such work. Also in favor of Jose was that he exceeded the licensing minimums I was looking for – he has a G1 certification (a G3 needs supervision, a G2 works unsupervised up to 400,000 BTU and a G1 can do 400,000BTU and over gas installations) and he has a 313A license (a 313D is for a residential A/C mechanic and a 313A is for >3ton systems). Jose was one of the team of three people who completed the work, which was important for me because of the licensing. After the work Jose took the initiative of registering my equipment for the extended (10 year) warranty, which was a helpful gesture. …And I neglected to mention that Jose usually works with Payne equipment (a sub brand of Carrier) with a good reputation for dependability. *Added notes to those above: 1) I sought out a company with only good reviews because where there is a bad review you are left with some doubt – and I am not suggesting that all customers are reasonable, but if you can also select a service provider with no negative reviews, that gives you a higher level of comfort; 2) I asked for evidence of Licensing (gas technician – minimum G2 – and refrigeration mechanic – minimum 313D), Worker’s Compensation coverage and Liability Insurance; 5) This can impact travel time, costs and response for future maintenance; 6) I sought both equipment warranty and work warranted for a year – as I understand it, unless you use a licensed installer you will not benefit from full warranty coverage on the equipment. I should add that I used diverse resources in my research (friends who had similar work done, Google searches, TrustedPros, the BBB) and that I ended up concluding that HomeStars was the best resource for selecting a service provider. Although friend recommendations seem like a best resource – I found that my friends did not necessarily ensure that the installers they used were licensed, had Worker’s Compensation coverage or liability insurance. In several cases they received only verbal quotes. In more than one instance, my friends found that getting the installer back to look at a problem was itself problematic. The A/C has been running almost continuously over the last three, very hot weeks and all is well thus far. I look forward to engaging Jose for routine maintenance – a last important consideration!

We have worked with Jose on several occasions and he is always quick to respond and communicate. He and Ronald are always willing to help out in timely manner. They have tended to all our heating, air-conditioning or electrical repairs with professionalism, quality parts/materials and attention to the details for a job well done! Jose provided a reasonable quote and stressed the quality of work. He lived up to the promise. The work was done in a day and included some rough drywall repairs where a hole needed to be cut. They laid down mats to protect the floor and cleaned up all areas afterwards. Jose knew what needed to be done and worked to minimize the impact to the existing structures like the AC mounting rack. Great service! Done on time, good price and high quality work showed in every detail of the installation. Jose explained very well the proper functionality of the A/C unit, answered all my questions and concerns. In addition to that, we were able to keep appropriate social distancing in this COVID-19 times. Without sacrificing personal service. Overall very happy with the service. I have using jose from building ideas for over 10 years now he has replaced my furnace as well my domestic water heater fixed my air a conditioning once he also run a new gas line to my kitchen stove his work is very professional his price are fear i do recommend jose and his team for any HAVC work

I contacted Jose @ Building Ideas for a quote to relocate my AC condenser, reroute the AC condenser electrical, and replace my gas lines, including relocating a BBQ line, removing gas lines that were running throughout the basement, and install a 220V outlet to the kitchen for a new electric range (previously a gas range). Jose’s quote was reasonable, and he did the work promptly and professionally. The work he did was very clean in terms of laying out the gas or electrical lines and securing them. We’re very happy with his work and highly recommend that you consider Jose and Building Ideas for your project.

Air Conditioning at the condo was out. Another contractor suggested a costly repair of many thousands. Jose and his team did an assessment of the problem and were able to make teh needed repair for a tiny fraction of the other estimate. Jose's product knowledge is superb. Additionally his professionalism and business ethics are impeccable. We will call Jose for all other issues and I would highly recommend to others.

I have hired Jose and his team for two properties now and will continue to do so for as long as they want. Both he and Ronald do meticulous, expert work and are especially good at finding and fixing the mistakes left behind by less thoughtful companies. On one of his visits Jose said to me, "there is always a solution," and I believe him. Friendly, fair and hard working: these are three things that are important to me as a homeowner, and yet so many other companies these days seem to think they are above all that. It gives me hope that people like Jose are in the business. Highly recommended.

Jose is awesome! He does an excellent job and is fair with his pricing. we have used him for a number repairs throughout our house and he has never disappointed. I highly recommend him.
