Based on a couple of his previous projects, we hired Mixedesigns for what started as a bathroom redesign but expanded to a much larger project. We are very happy with the beautiful end result. Tony is a perfectionist and demands no less of all those he brings in to work on his projects. His attention to detail is second to none. He has no shortage of ideas to offer and takes the time to review options to come up with the best solutions. It is evident that Customer satisfaction is a primary goal. We worked with Tony and his team to design and renovate the kitchen and main-floor bathroom of our 100-year-old home. Although we've had unpleasant experiences with other contractors in the past, which made me nervous about starting another reno, as soon as I met Tony I knew I could trust him to do a professional job. He spent a lot of time with me going over details of the job and offering ideas I hadn't even considered. He is a true "ideas" guy and a perfectionist at heart, and this shines through in his work. He is also realistic about budgets and provides a very detailed budget plan, so there are no surprises along the way. Once construction started, Tony was always available if I had questions or concerns, and he made sure we were happy every step of the way. When issues came up, he had a solution. His team is made up of professional and hardworking guys. Halfway through, we decided we wanted to replace the baseboards throughout the entire house, and they had no problem adding it to the scope of work and had it all done within the timeline. I'm so happy with my new kitchen. Tony and his team created a work space that truly meets my needs as a recipe developer and cookbook author. Despite the limited amount of square footage available to work with, they managed to add more counter prep space and more storage than I had before. From the moment Tony came in to see what work needed to be done in our place, we knew we needed him on our team to have our renovation turn out how we wanted. He provided realistic advice on the vision we had for our renovation. Our house is almost 100 years old so you can imagine the level of updating it required (as well as the possible renovation problems that can you can anticipate.) On the spot, he let us know that some of our ideas were over-ambitious for our budget and timeline even though other contractors who came through nodded along without much intervention. We really can't imagine how things would have turned out without this experienced professional who was true with us from the beginning. Once Tony started speaking of the design aspects of our kitchen, I could actually visualize the transformation. He asked a lot of questions to really get a good grasp on our sense of style and our functional needs. We discussed some alternative design options, a few of which had not even crossed our mind as being options! Tony will not beat around the bush with you. When you call him with questions, he calls you back and he provided many recommendations for us for other contractors he knows and trusts. Thank you Tony, Brandon, Travis, and Anton. For those home owners or landlords who are tired of working with contractors with poor communication skills, well you need not look any further than Mixedesigns. I hired Mixedesigns to completely gut, design and build a 3rd floor rental unit and my satisfaction was far exceeded. They took full ownership of the job; they identified unforeseen issues and brought me solutions on how to address those issues with the necessary job amendments so that we could stay within budget. I would not hesitate to recommend Mixedesigns for all your home projects big or small. They will take your job and treat it as if they were working on their own home. Mixedesigns made my main floor home reno project a smooth process from start to finish. We purchased an older semidetached home in midtown Toronto and wanted to transform an open second floor terrace into a master bedroom and master bathroom, along with remodeling another bedroom and main bathroom. We also had the main floor hardwood replaced. Recommended by friends, the Mixedesigns team handled our renovation project in a professional and expert fashion from the planning stages through to completion and the final inspections. We worked directly with Tony, Owner, Travis, Structural Designer, and Tina, Designer. Essential to the project, Travis worked closely with us, offering different architectural/engineering solutions for our needs, and with an eye to our budget. Tony and Travis work well together, carefully considering the big picture as well as important visual and structural details. Always approachable, Tony was very accessible and responsive to all questions, taking the time to explain the process and progress at every stage. While there was a considerable delay in beginning the project, once the project started, everything ran very smoothly, on time and under budget. Tony has an excellent eye for detail and goes out of his way to ensure his clients are completely satisfied. We found that Tina has a natural gift for discovering and refining the interior design expectations of clients. She adeptly presented and sourced interior design elements that fit an overall picture that was right for us, while remaining budget conscious. Our project was a custom home build and in the planning stages we contracted our own architect and engineer and part way through the process we were introduced to the MixedDesigns team and specifically with Travis regarding the design and engineering. He was amazing and spotted many things in our initial design and engineering that were issues that we needed to correct so without him our plans would have been flawed! Not only did he help to correct these issues but he also worked with us throughout the build process to ensure that the build was to specification and was ‘done right’. Travis would also assist with various other aspects of the build and would frequently come to the site to see how things were going and help where he could. His expertise was invaluable and he always went over and above. We would highly recommend Travis for any build project.

Over the past year we went through our first home reno – not only was it a reno it was a full tear down of an old bungalow so we could start from scratch and build our dream house – it was exciting and scary given the scale of the project. Tony managed our project from the very start and continues to help us and stays in touch to make sure we are happy with our new home. Our house is beautiful, we could not be happier. Everyone who comes to see it has nothing but wonderful things to say about it. We had a vision for what we wanted the end result to be – not only did Tony and his entire Mixedesigns team make that happen – they made it even better. From the moment Tony stepped into that old crappy bungalow he had amazing, unique and creative ideas of how to design the house. We built this house during a brutal winter and had a lot of problems thrown our way – Tony always made time to meet with us to ensure things were progressing, that we were happy with what was being done, to explain to us what was going on and to provide options for solutions to the problems we faced. He always took into consideration our budget when offering solutions. Tony always made himself available despite his busy schedule whether it was a for a simple question, a not so simple question or help shopping for the perfect design elements. Although we don’t plan on doing a reno again anytime soon (we LOVE our new house) we hope that we do get to work with Tony and his team again in the future and would happily recommend him regardless of the size of the project. We could have built this house with any contractor….but without Tony there is no way we would have ended up with the finished product that we did - without his vision, fresh ideas and dedication our house would not be as special as it is.
