    Floor

    Ben and his team provided an awesome service. My wife and I spent some time researching available products. Some retailer were pushing us to buy a specific product or brand but at Floors Direct North we had a great experience. I am from the DIY school and I wanted to save some money doing as much as I could myself. Ben patiently helped me with answering my questions and I could save some money removing ceramic tiles (not an easy job). Material delivery was on time. The installation team showed up as scheduled and a group of four people finished the job in a day and half.

    Great job in limited time

    I had a magnificent experience with floors direct north. It was a staircase and second floor which needed to change from carpet to hardwood. I would like to thank John and Faysal who helped me to find the best option regarding the hardwood and sent Benn to my house the same day. Benn was a brilliant person and helped me from the scratch until the end. He did a great job from selecting the best hardwood which fits to my other rooms, finding the best people that he had to come and do the actual job, guiding me to remove the carpets in the stairs and being available for my silly questions until the end of the work. Because the stairs curving shape the job needed the best installers. Then came Nam and his team. Those guys where awesome in any aspect. Did the job quick and perfect. It was a great experience. I will work with these guys again even though I`m moving to Barrie. Thanks a lot.

    hardwood and laminate

    did an amazing job, they even came on Christmas to install as per my request and only time available. Great quality, workmanship, pricing and even cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommended.

    Basement wood flooring & carpet installation

    Due to water leak in my basement, my floor was flooded and completely damaged. Floors Direct North did a fantastic job helping me get a brand new look. Quality of their work, attention to detail and customer service was amazing. Jeannie Sperry was my main point of contact at Floors Direct and she is just fabulous! She helped me make a selection and walked me through the different options on quality, durability and price. A special thank you to Jeannie. I plan on working with her again for my next project.     Bedroom flooring

    Very happy with our new Bruce hardwood flooring in our bedrooms. Almost a perfect match with hallways and the rest of the house. A pleasure to work with this company. Very accommodating to our needs, total job finished in one day. Would encourage shoppers to talk to Ben. Bob

    product and customer support

    Poor customer service and attitude. John sold me an underlayment he told me was appropriate for a particular application. He was incorrect and over 2 weeks of taking advice from floors direct north and non of it worked. I took out the underlament he sold me, replaced it with a big box store product and my floor layed perfectly with an hours work. not the 2 weeks of rolling, folding, heating etc of the product he sold me based on his staffs advice. So, clearly looking to return the product that was inappropriately sold to me and he would have nothing to do with it, had no other interest in helping and was right out rude. Oh and he was clearly upset I didnt by the actual flooring from him but who would...floors direct north was 40% higher than 2 other stores in the same town with the same product. Stay clear.     Hi Todd, thanks for the review. Whilst we appreciate all reviews this is one we do want to address quickly. All customers are important to us whether they spend 100.00 or 100.000 and as a company, we try hard to satisfy all of our clients but we cannot please all the people all of the time. You mention John's phone message first and foremost, perhaps it was sheer frustration on his part (he is human after all) after trying many times to give you good advice telling you clearly that putting the underlayment under sheet vinyl was not recommend and that it was good floor prep that was crucial for a successful installation. You insisted after speaking directly to the supplier, that purchasing underlayment was what you wanted to do and despite advice from our staff warning you against it, you still went ahead. When you came in the store, you actually thanked us for all our help but the tables turned when we would not refund the purchase price of the underlayment. The phone call you subsequently made back to John was very abusive in nature which I am sure John’s call to you wasn’t as he is not that type of guy. I'm afraid our guys are not used to such verbal abuse and nor should they be. No-one deserves to be treated that way. For your one complaint, we have hundreds of people who say the opposite and are extremely happy with the service John provides as are we. It was the distributor of the underlayment who you called direct, not John, who gave you the advice to heat and roll the vinyl to straighten out the underlayment. As for pricing, all retailers have products they have better pricing on based on their supplier programmes. We too can offer such pricing on various product lines at various times. I'm surprised with your flooring experience, as you told us, that you wouldn’t recognize this. On a product you insisted on buying and that had been cut up and installed, of course we were not prepared to take it back - why should we? At the end of the day it would have been more prudent on your part to have purchased the underlayment from the same place you purchased your vinyl and I’m sorry we weren’t the right company for you.

    Staircase

    This company does not have their own staircase building knowledge and team. They subcontract third parties. While my staircase was built by Floors Direct's contractor they never had the decency to be present nor supervised or followed up with me to make sure the work was being done properly and meeting scope. Two years after I have some consistent squeaking steps making anoying noise, I phoned Floors Direct and they had the classic ''no resposible for that issue'' answer. The contractor that built my staircase no longer works for them

    Hi Santiago, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear your stairs are squeaking. After we received your review we looked up your details and your stair installation was over 2 years ago. I do think it's a bit unfair to imply we don't care as the that couldn't be further from the truth as you will see if you read our reviews. Had our work not been done to scope, we surely would have heard from you before now? Until you called yesterday we knew nothing about any squeaks and therefore can only assume that they started recently. If they were present before, I'm sure you would have let us know and had you informed us, we would 100% have come and looked at the issue for you. Even if it had been just over the one year warranty, we would still have taken a look - but as with any warranty, unfortunately there has to be a cut off point. I have my own example experiencing a problem with my car recently and my warranty was out by a week. I called but they wouldn't do anything for me because the warranty had run out. Addressing your comment about us sub-contracting. To be honest we don't know of any store who employs installers these days. We have over 30 installers work with us and the vast majority do 100% of their work for us. We are proud of these installers and they do a great job. Regarding the installer no longer being with us, as with any job Santiago, people move on to bigger and better things, are we supposed to stop them? As a last thing Santiago, if the squeaks are move prevalent now, it could be seasonal and due to expansion and contraction on the wood as the weather warms up which is something we have no control over. It could also be coming from something structural that didn't present itself at the time of installation (or I'm sure you'd have mentioned it). Again, if this is the case we are not responsible I'm afraid, but there are things we can suggest you try and if you'd like to give us a call we'd be happy to get someone to talk you through it.     Flooring

    Jeannie was amazing in helping us choose the perfect flooring for our home that included luxury vinyl plank, hardwood and carpet. Ours was an exceptional situation as we worked with Jeannie to select our flooring while being out of the country. She worked tirelessly with us and we returned home to beautifully installed floors that we love. Jeannie's professionalism, dedication and honesty goes beyond any customer service we have experienced. We highly recommend Floors Direct North for your flooring needs.

    Hardwood Flooring

    I had spent several months looking for the right flooring for my new home. During my search I spoke to or visited most all of the flooring companies in the GTA and was either frustrated with the level of service and knowledge or with the lack of available options in a wide plank, white washed oak. John, our sales person was amazing to deal with. He was knowledgeable, friendly and not at all pushy. In fact, he encouraged me to buy a box before making a commitment. I realize that most hardwood flooring stores offer this option but they don't usually encourage it. Ben, the owner, went above and beyond by storing our wood in his warehouse because of construction delays. Ivan, the installer, was everything that you would want a hardwood installer to be. Efficient, super attentive to detail, considerate of my walls and furniture and reliable. In summary, this is a completely unbiased review and I would absolutely recommend Floors Direct North to anyone who asked. I also intend to do additional business with John and Ben in the future.

    Hardwood Floor Install

    I would recommend Floors Direct North without hesitation. Jeannie was able to source the exact wood we wanted (and there were a lot of requirements!) She also worked tirelessly to coordinate the entire job and ensure we were happy with the results. All the people related to the floor installation at the house were extremely professional, conscientious, and pleasant to work with. In particular, the floor installers, Ross and Danny, were amazing. They paid close attention to detail, and their work was superb. They were also all-around nice guys!
