Kirk and his crew did a new front porch and new contoured garden walls. Also, they added a brick divider between the front lawn and driveway from the new garden wall to the curb. They were very professional and diligent in the work that they did for us. We were in need of a new front porch, walkway and sitting area. After several quotes and research, we decided to go with Distinctive Designs. Kurt was extremely patient and helpful in the design process. He exposed us to materials we hadn't thought of or seen and brought multiple samples prior to our final design. From beginning to end, Kurt and his team were very organized, tidy and professional. Kurt's customer service is impeccable. There was one issue with the stone finish and without any hesitation, it was corrected promptly. We are very pleased with the outcome and we are constantly receiving compliments. Kurt and his team created an amazing oasis. Back fill the builder step. Custom natural stone on the porch with natural stone steps and interlock. Beautiful work fast and super friendly.

I had looked at Homestars initially in order to get several quotes for work on replacing my front interlock walkway. Some indicated they would not quote if I was getting other bids, others were competitive within a few hundred dollars, but I felt like I was just another quote and they could not care since they were so busy from Homestars. Kurt was not the cheapest, but certainly the most accommodating, personable and professional of all 5 contractors. His team cleaned up every day after the job and my walkway is outstanding. I have already had 3 people inquire about getting his information to do work. I would highly recommend Kurt and his company and will be having him do my deck in the backyard. Distinctive Design is definitely top for service and excellence!

I am very happy to say that the job was done in 1 day and I couldn't have imagined it would be so beautiful. After getting quotes from a number of companies my wife and I decided to go with Kurt and his crew to redo the front of our house with a new walkway, porch and tree removal. Kurt was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions to help us get the best look for the best price. His crew was able to get our job done in one day and we couldn't be happier. My decision to hire Distinctive Designs Landscaping began when I first researched the company on the HomeStars site. After reading the reviews I contacted Kurt for an estimate. I can confirm that what I read from previous reviews is exactly what I experienced. I instantly felt comfortable with Kurt, and could tell that he was well experienced. We had previously received two other quotes, but neither company felt right. The scope of our project included a new walkway and stairs to our wraparound porch. Kurt provided excellent guidance and suggestions on which materials would be best for what we were looking for, and provided ideas for placing the finishing touches on the project. All timelines were met and on budget. Work was completed correctly, sloping issues were corrected, and the stairs, which had previously settled lower down, are perfectly placed, which now allows for easier access to the porch. The end product is perfect. The walkway and stairs look fantastic and there has been much interest in the neighbourhood in regards to who did this work. I would recommend this company without hesitation and am already thinking about using them again for our future backyard project.

This is the second time I have hired Kurt and his crew. Having to build a deck at a townhouse has its challenges with having to bring all materials through the house. No complaints from fellows. The deck is beautiful, work was done on time and everything was left neat and tidy. Once again, a very happy customer.

Working with Kurt and his team was a very positive experience from our first phone conservation until his visit over the holidays (6 months post project completion) to fix a minor issue. While his estimate was higher than others obtained, I felt comfortable that his price factored in all anticipated costs, comfort I didn't necessarily get from other contractors. In the end, not only are we absolutely in love with our new backyard, but Kurt was right on budget and finished AHEAD of schedule. My only advice: listen to Kurt's recommendations when it comes to selecting your design options: while he's too respectful to say "I told you so", we would have saved ourselves some grief since we waffled on a few selections and ultimately went with exactly what he suggested from day 1. Kurt and his team are professional, forthright, and very knowledgeable. No cutting corners. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kurt and his team to my friends and family (and already have).
