    Shockingly poor after sales service for expensive product, eventually rectified

    I purchased three doors, on tracks, from this company back around 2018-19 for several thousand dollars. They worked just fine for many years. Then in March 2023 I paid $1600 for them to remove and then reinstall all three doors, so that I could replace old carpeting. The two house visits for this amounted to a total of about 5 person-hours work (one hour solo and 2 hours of two man team). Two of the doors are working fine 5 months later, but one door now won't move. Because its past 90 days they want to charge me another $250.00 for a service call. They did send me free replacement wheels but with an incredibly complicated set of instructions and it requires two people to do the work. UPDATE: after publishing this review and a similar one on Google a technician was sent at no cost to me. The problem turned out to be not the wheels but a defective soft close device that the technician is replacing.

    New Home With Basement Office

    I am a self-employed bookkeeper who moved from a city home with an office on the main floor with skylights to a new build with a proposed basement office. I was having second thoughts about my office placement until my daughter found "The Sliding Door Company" website. With my office facing into the backyard and with the 3 panel sliding doors, my office is open, bright and functional. The entire team at The Sliding Door Company were exemplary. They worked in unison with the builder with timing and measurements that went like clockwork. You have to see this amazing product to fully appreciate it. Plus I believe it has added substantial value to my home.

    9 foot privacy sliding door.

    I’m so impressed by look and with the ease that these doors open. I choose a white frame and very pleased with the service and product. The delay in delivery was out of their control and well worth the wait.

    Shoddy Installation

    Terrible company to deal with. After about a year the invisible guide used to ensure the doors track properly came detached from the hardwood floor. Without going into a lot of detail it's obvious the work was not done properly .. the wrong type and size of screws -- shoddy workmanship. I asked that the installers return and fix the problem. The Sliding Door people said that I would have to pay the installers a second time! Of course I refused and after several emails they still refuse to take responsibility. They say the installation that should last a life time is only guaranteed for one year. That should tell you something about the confidence they have in their installers. What truly amazes me is that the Sliding Door people will not absorb the cost of the second installation visit. At $250 this is small in comparison to the cost of the doors. First Installation visit was about $800. Their inability to absorb the cost should tell you something about the financial viability of this company -- they may not be around long!

    Completely satisfied!

    The installation was fast & trouble-free. We very pleased with the new look of our basement. The doors have created extra value to our home. The choice of colour & design is perfect!

    Sliding Barn door

    Absolutely the worst company to deal with - stay far far away - They will quote you a product, in my case, a sliding barn door apparatus, that is incapable of holding the weight of the glass just to make a sale. Then once the door is installed, it does not work. They refuse to service it. They pass me around for a month asking for pictures and videos without taking any action. Then they take the position that the warranty is only for 90 days. Then they change their position to "warranty is not applicable". So now, i have a sliding barn door, which does not operate well, and I am not even sure how sturdy the install is. I have two young children who use the room for their virtual classrooms (due to Covid), and God forbid, if their installation fails and the glass door falls down and injures them, I can only pray that it does not happen. So for your own peace of mind, please do not use this company for any installations or purchases.

The purchase of the HARDWARE was made in April, 2019 (Two and a half years ago). You elected to buy the hardware only and NOT the complete system or the glass from the Sliding Door Company of Canada. We absolutely stand by the warranty on our hardware. In this case, the situation is unrelated to the hardware completely. The issue has nothing to do with The Sliding Door Company and we sorry you feel the way you do.

    Replacement all Closet doors and a glass divider wall

    My wife & I familiar with door companies easily decided on The Sliding Door Company for the Quality, Choice & contemporary look of their products. Another reason was the professional firm used for installations. Completed job Looks amazing!

    Laundry room sliding doors

    We had sliding doors installed by this amazing company and seriously couldn't be more pleased. They are very careful and kind in all areas of the customer service experience and the product is unbelievable. The quality on every slide speaks for itself and they are quite breathtaking to behold. I can't speak highly enough about the absolute beauty the doors have added to the space they are in.

    Replacing 11 doors in my new condo

    I moved into a new sub penthouse condo last fall. The builder had installed cheap and unattractive doors. I researched door companies and found The Sliding Glass Door company, what a fabulous find!! The doors I chose and order are well made, elegant and has made my house look spectacular. From the initial phone call to Hulya to the installation by Boraz and Demire the product, service and supportive team at The Sliding Door Company, are worth a 10 out of 10 rating. Thanks to All!!

    Condo Loft Project

    The best investment I’ve made! I got the sliding doors installed at my condo and I couldn’t be happier. They are beautiful and the quality is amazing. Very happy customer!
