It is one thing to do a roof that will last the labour warranty (10 years in our case ) and a roof that will last the shingle warranty (40 years min. in our case) without any problems. Hi Liz. It was nice to meet your family and to have had the chance to help you with replacing the tar and gravel roof of your newly purchased home. We did find a few rotten wood planks and opened a few more vents, but all the work was done within the expected timeline of two days. Although it is not advised to have a roof replaced in the winter, we do use a superior shingle that can afford waiting thru the winter without sticking and still endure very strong winds. It was great that the weather held for a few days and we were able to finish the jobs for the season. The National Star Roofing team is very happy to have clients like you. Hi Michael! We all wish you a quick recovery from your leg injury. It is a pleasure to have had the chance to help you with your roof replacement project. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience. In about 50% of the projects, we come across things like rotten wood, metal flashing to be changed or installed new etc. They are necessary to the roof lasting the shingle warranty of a minimum of 40 years, but they also take time. Especially when we do not hire any subcontractors, that work will sometime postpone jobs. That said, we do make sure the roof is patched for the meanwhile until work is to start, especially when it needs to go thru a winter. Hi Kent. It was an honor to serve you and your lovely wife, dear sir. Your project was a difficult one, but interesting at the same time. We had to inspect your attic to find the best solution to the venting issue. We needed to find high-performance attic vents but have them not stand out too much. What we came up with was 6 VentMax, style 302. One more thing we did for you was changing the metal flashing around your two skylights, which were below standard.
