    Backyard Renovation

    Jay and his crew are absolutely awesome! Our backyard was in such poor shape with cracked and crumbling concrete, and a sinking and rotting double deck. With 2 little ones wanting to get outside, it definitely was not a safe area to play in. I had contacted 2 other companies before Green Side Up.  The first one told me it wasn't possible to do what I wanted while keeping costs low.  They didn't offer any other options for me and never got back to me with an actual quote, as they had promised. The second one, asked to see pictures, and I never heard back from them either. I then reached out to Jay and he came out right away.  He saw what bad shape the yard was in, but didn't turn away from the challenge and was happy to help.  Jay was also helpful with giving different options to help keep costs low. With his amazing team, they went well above and beyond to make our yard look unbelievable - they even helped us out by removing a damaged awning, and designed an awesome new backyard gate to fit an awkward opening. I cannot believe how amazing the backyard looks now! It's hard to believe its the same one. I highly recommend Green Side Up and will definitely be contacting them for any future projects. Thank you SO much Jay and team! My kids now have a safe place to play and we have a beautiful backyard to sit back and relax in.

    New Deck

    Right from the start of the project, Jay was on point. We brought in other companies to give us quotes and help us design. Everyone else we brought in, we found that the person giving the quote, just gave us what we wanted, and didn't give us any input on anything. We had a current deck, and wanted to extend it, when every other contracter came in, they just agreed to extend it. When Jay came in, he gave a suggestion that made total sense. He suggested that instead of just extending it, to also shift it to the right, that way the entrance way doesn't feel so closed in. One simple suggested, made the biggest difference. Jay was flexible, we changed our minds near the end about something, and he was more than accommodating. And always kept us up to dates about the permits. Victor was the contractor doing the work. He really cares about the quality of work, and takes pride on his work. A few times I walk by, I see him eyeing down the wood to make sure it's not bowed or twisted, any other contractor wouldn't care and just use the wood even if it was twisted. He took his time answering my questions, even when they were dumb. And as an amateur woodwooker, he was more than willing to answer non-work related questions as well. I've already told Jay, when I do other wood related work in my house, I will want Victor to come.

    Fence Project

    From day one, Jay and his workers (Chase and crew) were very professional and responsive. Jay took the time to understand my requirements and provided viable options that worked within my budget. This was my first experience using Green Side Up Contracting. I will definitely utilize their services in the future and recommend them to family and friends. Thanks Jay!

    Backyard Oasis with Five-Star Service

    Jay and his team were excellent to work with throughout the entire project. From the time we made our initial inquiry through HomeStars and used Green Side Up's online estimator tool - to our first meeting with Jay - to the day they first broke ground, we knew our backyard was in the right hands. Despite the restrictions placed on contractors with Covid-19, we were still able to go ahead with the Permit Guys to attain a building permit, which enabled Green Side Up to begin the project as soon as restrictions were lifted. Jay and his crew were prompt, courteous, and although they worked quickly, that did not come at the expense of quality. Huge shout out to Zach, who was the point person for this project. Zach communicated at every step, and ensured we were always on the same page. We would happily work with Green Side Up again, and recommend them to anyone looking to uplift their outdoor space!

    Fence Installation

    What a fabulous company! Without exception, all members of Jay's team at Green Side Up Contracting who worked on my project - Dan, Brett, and Corey - were always responsive, always collaborative, and always highly professional. Further, my project began and ended within the agreed upon timeline. These qualities are often rare in the world of renovation/building. My fence looks amazing! Thank you Jay and team!

    New Fence

    Greenside up Contracting was very easy to work with. Jay and his team are a great group to deal with and helped with value engineering the project to save me money and time. They worked very quickly and were very accomodating. Would recommend.

    Backyard Paradise: Part 2

    18 months ago I engaged Green Side Up to replace my backyard fence, which had fallen into disrepair. They did a great job and so this year I invited them back to rebuild my deck and complete my backyard paradise. Mission accomplished!! My project was not simple: big trees, a yard on a hill, and a very specific creative vision of my own. Jay was very helpful in providing various options to build to my vision. What's more, he connected me with the right people to get drawings done to meet code. Jay brought in Chase and his crew for the build. Chase and team are very friendly and knowledgeable guys who were super meticulous in their work. My picture-framed deck with chevron-cut cedar boards is PERFECT! Every angle is exact! When Chase needed my input or decision, he was extremely clear in his communication, shared his creative insights and always helped me understand my options clearly. Chase made sure every detail was looked after and that I got the result I wanted. I would have Chase and the guys back in a heartbeat, because I know I'll get a great job done.

    New Fench

    Jay and Daniel from Green Side Up Contracting were amazing , I was so impressed with how the whole project started and finished !! They delivered as promised, and exactly on time. My neighbours were super impressed with the whole process and end results and will be using their services as well. I would highly recommend Green Side without any hesitation.

    fence and gates

    From our perspective, contracting for a fence replacement was a daunting proposition. When we met you, we felt confident in choosing your company. Your web site reviews were all positive and you were knowledgeable and reassuring. You can now add our names to the long list of satisfied clients. Dan, Cory, Nick, and the 2 others on the team worked tirelessly and they took care and precision in the details. The weather was hot and humid. Yet, their work ethic was awesome. As well, the “post hole diggers”, Issac and his brothers were amazing, considering most of the post holes had to be dug by hand. The 2 gates and hardware are excellent examples of workmanship and quality. Marv and Judy The end result is beautiful!

    Backyard Deck

    We used Green Side Up for a deck in our backyard and they were great. Professional to deal with, pricing was transparent and competitive, and the finished product was exactly what we hoped for. I have recommended them to my family for similar projects.
