    Top notch quality work with great office and field team

    I had a section of my fence replaced in August 2016. It was a pleasure to deal with Jay the owner. No nit picking about minor variation from original plan. He certainly set a high standard which really cascades down to the field team which include another Jay, Daniel and Jason as well as the office team Ada and Bridget. I receive constant updates on the status of the job and professional and courteous answer to every question I asked. Most importantly, the final product and quality was just as Jay has promised. No surprise there. I believe mine is relatively a very small job but the team's attention to detail was truly inspiring. My neighbors place their trust in me to find a good contractor and I am glad I convince them to choose Jay in spite of cheaper quotes from other contractors. I should thank the other users of HomeStars for their reviews which are extremely helpful with my selection process.

    Landscape retaining wall

    From day one Jay was extremely knowledgeable and realistic giving me guidance on what I wanted done. He was very reasonable and accommodating to various things that happened throughout the project. I trusted him and his teams ability to complete the job while we were out of town. It was wonderful to come back and see exactly what we have envisioned. He even went above and beyond to move extra material we were not expecting to have, at no additional cost. We look forward to recommending jay and his team to friends and family. Thanks for your open communication and your great work.

    Great "wood wall" of China!

    I had contacted 4 contractors to acquire a quote on having an 8 foot fence built in place of our old 6 foot deteriorating fence since we live beside a commercial property as well as a main road. The fence was much needed due to privacy and consistent noise. We decided to choose GreenSideUp because Jay was the most easy to communicate with, his price was the best and he does not contract the work out. The entire crew was very hardworking, even during the hottest days we've had this Summer. It would be extremely brutally hot outside and they would be out in our yard working away regardless. They were very friendly to speak with, easy to communicate with and they were able to answer any questions I had. Not only did they do an amazing job with our fence and our gate, but they also helped us do a minor fix for our shared fence with our residential neighbour, and plant a bush at the end of our new fence in an area where it could not extend to without charging us. We would highly recommend them to anyone. We now have an extremely sturdy, beautiful, high quality, excellent workmanship fence that will last for many many many years! Thank you so much to Jay and his amazing team!! We are hoping to use them again to remodel our front fence steps :)

    update main entrance way of house

    My home is over 30 years old and the main entrance into the home is original. Jay and his capable crew did fantastic work widening the area with interlocking stone and running it down to the sidewalk. The crew arrived early in the morning, were very friendly and professional. They had clean company shirts and decent work pants on. They interacted with me throughout the day and were an all-round good group. Any interaction I had with Jay prior to and during the job was great. At the end of the day the work was done, they did an amazing job cleaning up the area. I will recommend this company to my friends.

    Fence repair

    We needed repairs done to our fence. We contacted 3 different companies and Green Side Up was the only one willing to do repairs. Everyone else either did not do repairs or simply never got back to us. They even came a week ahead of schedule. The crew did a great job. We would highly recommend Green Side Up.

    Window well replacement and new stone garden wall.,also. Newbasement windows.

    I was totally satisfied with the work that was performed in a short period of time and in extreme hot temperature. Everything was cleaned up and I have positive comments ever since.

    Backyard patio transformation

    My wife wanted to transform our backyard as we have an active little guy. We had multiple contractors come over and present their ideas on how to transform the backyard but we didn't feel comfortable with anyone until Jay from Green Side Up showed up and discussed what they could do for us. We had a crazy timeline - needed everything done within 2 weeks from the day of the quote and the Green Side Up team rolled up their sleeves and made it happen. Jay is an honest and straight-forward person - he tells you his costs, he explains how they do the work and he works closely with you to make sure your vision is realized. After the second day of work, we realized the area of our patio was going to be too small. We called up Jay, explained what we needed and the team extended the patio with minimal fuss. How's that for flexibility? We chose a modern, contemporary stone and the results were fantastic. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Green Side Up as Jay, Richard, the entire crew (and Fleetwood) made our project amazing. Thumbs up to Green Side Up, we'll look forward to our next project together.

    First half of backyard transformation: fence replacement, new deck, tree/shrub removal, sod

    Jay and his crew have been doing a fabulous job with our lawn maintenance for a few years, and we have always been impressed with his genuine and professional nature as well as his reliability and promptness. We had been considering some transformational changes to our backyard and called Jay to quote on the first half of the project. His prices were definitely reasonable; additionally, he had good suggestions about how to proceed with replacing the deck which saved on the final cost. The crew removed our old wrought iron fence around our pool, removed large, overgrown trees and bushes to open up the back yard, removed the old decking and replaced it with new pressure-treated floor boards and railings, built a beautiful pressure-treated fence and gate and lay down sod. We are truly delighted with our new pressure-treated fence with horizontal boards, our new deck and our new, spacious lawn area. The work was done in a timely manner (less than a week) and Jay was in touch with us each evening (as we both were at work most days) about progress and next steps. The next phase of our backyard transformation is the stonework around the pool and a new patio. We will be hiring Jay to do this work in the fall.

    Remove Creeping Charlie, Replace 500 sq. ft. Lawn with New Sod

    A bit pricy but the company did a good job: on budget and on time. Time will be needed to ascertain whether the creeping charlie returns or not. For the present we continue to water dutifully and the lawn continues to look good.

    Front Landscaping and driveway

    This company did exceptional work on my home! Jay, the companies owner, is a genuine, honest business owner with integrity and compassion. The project, unfortunately, was a rescue from a not so ethical company and owner. Saving this project and providing an excellent experience​​​ from start to finish; giving considerable attention to what we wanted and expected in the job, but maintaining a project timeline within the original scope agreed. Jordan and team were professional and considerate and worked at a pace rarely ​seen these days in the construction industry. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for landscaping and or maintenance requirements.
