It can be challenging to find a company that will complete a smaller job. We had a fir tree that had pavers surrounding it which needed to be removed. We simply wanted to have some mulch around the tree with a couple of decorative large armour stone and river rock. Too much heavy lifting for us and so many companies will only do the bigger jobs. Green Side Up web site states no job is too small, so we called them and so glad we did. Jay is very easy to work with, I sent along a few pictures and description of what needed to be done and Jay was able to quickly provide a quote and date to do the job. Jay is also very collaborative ensuring we were engaged in key decisions for this project. He and and his team arrived on time and did a great job at a very fair price. We would definitely use Jay again.

I have been doing my own garden work over the past 25 years and finally decided to look for a landscaping company to do the work for me. I read the reviews for Green Side Up Property Maintenance, Landscape Design & Build and was impressed with all the positive reviews. I met Jay, who I found to be very positive, personable and accommodating. He bent over backwards to make sure that all the work I requested was done completely to my satisfaction and was very open to my feedback - good and bad. Since he takes a proactive approach to his business, I feel very comfortable using his services again in the future because I know that he will address all my concerns promptly and to my satisfaction.

I have nothing but good things to say about Jay and his crew for taking care of my lawn last year. Jay dropped by the next day after I sent him a e-mail for a quote. My lawn was in bad condition, but they helped me revived it and I even got complements from people passing by my house. You can't go wrong with Jay and company if you want to find a professional property maintenance and landscaping.

Jay and his company did such a wonderful job last summer with my mom's lawn that I couldn't wait to sign up for another season. In addition to being super friendly and reliable, he also provided helpful suggestions that were mindful of our budget. I would have signed up for snow plowing services with Jay as well, but unfortunately they weren't available for residential properties in Newmarket.

Last year as a new resident to Aurora, I hired Green Side Up in the winter to do my snow Plowing, which I was very happy with. Jay always kept me informed via email when we were going to receive snow, and also articulated their plan to me via email. They consistently stuck to their plan and provided quality work! In February Jay send out an email in regards to Green Side Up's 2nd Annual Easter Food Drive with The Aurora Food Pantry as the charity. Their food drive was also part of a raffle. When you donate food or a cash donation Green Side Up would give raffle tickets. The raffle was for one full year of property maintenance at no charge up to a value of $2,500, and the goal was to raise 4,400lbs of food. Well I was the lucky winner and I have had Jay's team looking after my property since. I have been very happy with their performance. I would highly recommend Green Side Up. They do what they say they are going to do and they also give back to the community.

We are very happy with Green Side Up- they were very patient and accommodating even as we continually expanded the scope of work (however, this was the case because we were very pleased with the work being complete). We would hire them again, and would recommend to our family and friends.

We hired Green Side Up as they did work for our nieghbour four years ago and they referred us to them. Our initial interaction was very positive. My call was returned promptly, an appointment was set up for a few days later and we were happily surprised to see that Jay was not late or didn't re-scheduel our meeting. While we were shopping around, my husband and I decided to obtain to consult with three contractors to hear their ideas and to be able to compare prices. One of the two other contractors rescheduled two times, and the other contractor was 45 min late, didn't call and wanted a 60% downpayment!! After meeting with Jay we reviewed his website and read the reviews on homestars.com which neither my husband or I knew about - thank you! We have shared this site with many of our friends and will be using the site again in the spring as we need our roof re-done!! Two or three days after Jay sent us the proposal which was well laid out very well. The different phases within the project were broken out and individual prices were linked to the each part of the phase. Although their proposal was very clear, and was a clear reflection of the conversation we originally had a when he visited, we asked Jay to come back for what I considered more of a consultation oppose to a meeting do to speak. Actually in the proposal, they recommended installing two underground pipes to fix a drainage problem that we told him about. (Neither of the other contractors included a solution our drainage problem) Jay was more than happy to follow-up. In fact he was he informed us that a project of this size would require multiple visits, which we ended up having. These consultations were very valuable, it was very clear that Jay cared and was not only interested in our business, he knew what he was talking about. my husband and I were sold!!! Our final consultation was to review pricing, the payment terms and project timelines. The payment terms were totally reasonable, and although we had to wait six weeks for the project to start, once started the project stayed almost bang on time! Mother Nature caused them to loose a couple days. Although the pricing was slightly higher than the two other proposals we received, it did include a solution for our drainage issue which the other two didn't, (we no longer have a drainage problem), and one year warranty. The crew that worked on our project (which took 2.5 weeks to complete) were very talented and very polite. They left our property as organized as possible on a daily basis throughout the project, and once the project was completed, they did an extremely thorough clean up job, including power washing our driveway!! During our initial meeting, Jay did indicate that his company does not negotiate pricing but they always provide their best price first which would be very competitive, and he was right. In closing, these guys (and girl) are very professional, the quality of workmanship is amazing, and their pricing is fair. We hope to be able to talk Jay into sending a crew up to our cottage in 2016 to do a fairly large landscape project!!!

I was looking to get a new walkway done leading to our driveway, as our old one was looking worn out and ragged. A friend of mine told me about green side up so I sent them an email and within hours I already received a call from Jay. He was very friendly and charming, but my goodness – the pictures he showed me as an example of his interlock walkways don’t do it justice! When he finished our walkway it was more beautiful than I had imagined! It’s like there’s a constant brilliance just emanating from our front yard. The quality of workmanship was just magnificent and what’s more is he stayed within the budget – a rare thing these days! When he asked me if I would be willing to write a review for him on homestars I told him I would be more than willing, Jay and the guys were some of the best we’ve had. Thanks Jay!

Jay and his team have been our lawn care specialist for several years now and have always provided exceptional quality and friendly service. I look forward to visits from Jay and his team because of how nice they all are and feel they are an integral part of my home maintenance program. My confidence in Jay is such that I will go to him first with any ideas or projects I have in mind in order to get his input and hopefully have Green Side Up help in its execution. I highly recommend this company for any lawn, landscaping, drainage projects and look forward to working with them again in the spring.

Couldn’t ask for better customer service! Jay and his guys have so far been the most honest and reliable landscapers I’ve used. I began to think that dealing with unproductive and lazy workers was inevitable but I was proved wrong! Since my wife and I began with Green Side Up in the spring, they have taken meticulous care of our lawn and gardens and done so with such enthusiasm and character. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!
