Hi Jeff, Unfortunately a fresh coat of paint can hide many sins. As a home inspector it is our job to try and see past the façade and determine the true condition of a place. Often times there are other clues that may lead us to conclusions of whether a fresh coat of paint is simply good maintenance or used to deceive. In your case we were lucky enough to have a sister building undergoing a major renovation because of an exterior cladding issue. Hi Steve, Focusing on you and what you are having inspected is a must. Too many people call only worried about price. While our prices are quite reasonable I always wonder if people go to the cheapest doctor, dentist, or lawyer. Price has very little to do with a home inspection it is all about the quality of the person performing the inspection and if they care more about you then the paycheque they are collecting at the end of the inspection. Going above and beyond when opportunities present themselves are part of the service at Haystack Home Inspections.
