    Local Move (Mississauga)

I called around for a few quotes and found AMJ to be the cheapest. I went with one of their advertised local moving packages (3 movers for 4h). Honestly, I wasn't dissapointed at all. The 3 guys were SO nice, helpful, and went the extra mile. They put runners and carpets down, wrapped anything they needed to very quickly, moved things exactly to where I wanted them to, didn't break anything or mishandle anything... I found them to actually be very thoughtful and respective of my items. Everything was done on time and on budget. There wasn't any nonsense like holding items 'hostage' in the truck for extra money or additional fees... I would use them again for sure.

    Move to the US

Horrible experience. The agent from Barrie Ontario gave me bad advise. I had some items which I asked if they should be crated. He said just bubble wrap them and they'll be fine. They got to my final destination shattered. Many items were damaged - some severely. I had a number of boxes lost. I had specifically paid AMJ Campbell to pack them because of their value (both financial and emotional value as they were passed down from family members who are no longer with us). The boxes were lost and more so, they were never listed on the inventory list. The company was supposed to provide an additional person to pack all of my artwork - which again I was paying extra for. They ended up dropping off the boxes for the two movers to pack. This added an additional 4 hours onto the move because now the two movers who were inventorying and loading approximately 10,000 lbs of goods had to stop and pack all the of art. When the goods were unloaded at our new house, I contacted our agent in Barrie and he basically washed his hands of our move. He told me that it was not his responsibility and I had to call the claims department in the US. At least the agent I dealt with in Phoenix who was also an Atlas agent and we were using for short term storage of our goods called me a few weeks after we moved in and asked me if I needed any assistance with our insurance claim. Our Canadian agent could have shown some support as he also knew how upset I was with the move. I would not recommend using this company to anyone. Even the guys that were loading our move had little good to say about this company. What does that say!

    Moving

Many broken items, missing parts and things taken apart and broken. Only token compensation after many telephone calls. We saw them drop a box marked fragile. They rushed away with many items not put in place.

    AMJ Move

I hired AMJ for my house move - it went really well. The crew out of the Barrie office did a great job and worked extremely hard on a hot day. I have moved before, and the key is to be well organized and ready for the movers. The quote was exactly as promised. I would recommend them again !

    Move mississuauga to Cambridge

AMJ provided a truck that way too small to carry our belongings. To compensate we had multiple people make at least a dozen (or more) trips to compensate. AMJ flatly refused to acknowledge this - please steer clear from them. Alda G. was our agent.

    Moving Service

Terrible experience! The local representative, Kelly, was outstanding. Very professional, courteous, and responsive. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. We used them for our cross-country move from Vancouver to Hamilton. Their driver was extremely flaky and unprofessional. Our estimated delivery date was constantly changing. He was very difficult to pin down to a delivery date and I ultimately had to call our sales rep to get anything done. We were promised that AMJ would reassemble any disassembled furniture and clear out the cardboard and packing material once the delivery was complete. Neither of these things was true. When I realized they had not finished the job I contacted the driver to ask that this be corrected while he was still in the area. He chose to ignore my call and leave the city. I contacted Kelly to inform him of this and ask that it be rectified. The driver then called me back and argued with my about fixing the problem. He then returned, acting like he was doing me a gigantic favor but completing the job that I had paid for, and didn't even finish everything. After my experience I was sent a customer satisfaction survey where I was asked to provide feedback. I listed my experiences as detailed above and have yet to hear anything back from anyone in management. Pathetic. Avoid this company.

    Move within Ontario

All the things I requested be done, were ignored and that is where the problems started. I asked to not have my shipment mixed in with someone else's (called piggybacking) which is where AMJ picks up more than your shipment for delivery someone close to your destination. Not only was there one shipment, but two additional shipments in a smaller trailer behind the truck. When the first truck was filled they unloaded a complete shipment and repacked the 2nd shipment tighter so they could get some of my stuff one the truck as well. I asked that it be a direct shipment to our new home. No they piggbacked so they had to stop somewhere else. When they did finally arrive at 6:00 pm at our place they had only had a few hours sleep from the previous night and had basically driven and unloaded for more than 12 hours at that time. Result, I got mattresses off the truck and a few minor items and then they would be back the following day. We're now into day 3 of a 2 day move. It really all started when the truck wasn't large enough, their representative had unestimated the weight of the shipment (at 10,000 lbs) and I was requested to make choices as to what I wanted left behind. Truck showed up with 3 men, one who didn't want to work so was sent home in a taxi (probably which was included in the bill) and now there was two and 15 and 1/2 hours later leaving our property at 1:30 am in the morning, and leaving wardrobe boxes galore in my previous homes garage and requesting that I get info to the new owners so that they can make arrangements to pick up their stuff which was left behind. The driver and his assistant were polite but complained alot about the conditions. One gentlemen advised that this was his last job, he was "out of there" and the driver wasn't sure he'd ever haul for AMJ again either. On arrival all the information previously provided to their representative wasn't available to the driver for authorization of payment and it was nothing more than a fiasco from the start. Would I recommend them... Definitely NOT. Many years ago we'd used their services and had no complaints or problems. They've definitely gone down hill from there. This was supposed to be a "stress free" move however I've never been more stressed than in the past 3 days wondering whether it would be done to completion as the 2 remaining drivers/loaders had threatened to walk off the job and let someone else do it.

    A short distance move

I have the same problem. This company doesn't know what FRAGILE means. During the move they tossed a very heavy wooden lap travel desk on top of a box marked very clearly FRAGILE. THree goblets were broken and they refuse to take responsibility The damage was $1000 and they sent a cheque for $6 telling me the matter was settled. I returned the cheque, the matter is NOT closed yet. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Moving from Alberta to Saskatchewan with AMJ Campbell

Unbelievable. We used AMJ Campbell to move from Innisfail, AB to Prince Albert, SK. We had 3 quotes. Theirs was the lowest at 6200. The others were 8500 and 11500. We rented a Uhaul truck for 1200 and moved lots of belongings that they would not move and items that were very heavy (thinking to save some money on the weight thing). Their bill at our front door was $10,200. The difference was said that they had to pack more than they thought and the box-count was much higher also. Oh yes, and the box packing was a trick ... many large boxes full of paper with a cup or a vase in it/them. "Smoke and mirrors" That's all these guys are good for. It's like extortion you know. "We have all your stuff on our truck and nothing comes off until your bill is paid in full and verified." I felt so powerless and ripped-off with these guys.

    Moving Company

We called in AMJ Campbell to quote our move to the Hamilton area. The representative, Laura arrived on time and was professional and personable. She was always available for follow-up and never pressured us at any point to sign with them. On moving day, the crew was excellent. They showed up early and worked non-stop. We actually made them take a break when we got to Hamilton. Great guys to work with. Laura's quote was dead-on. We appreciated the attention-to-detail of the entire team and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.
