This is the second time I have used Drain1. Pavlo and his team are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to drains, pipe replacement and plumbing. I called Pavlo late Saturday night and to my amazement, he was at my front door within an hour to assess the issue and prepare a plan of action (he also temporarily fixed the issue so we can use our toilet and sinks for a few days). When he and his team showed up, it only took a few hours for them to completely replace the broken cast iron pipes I had. Throughout the process they explained everything they were doing and cleaned up at the end. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of fast, friendly and honest plumbing. I had various plumbing needs (leaky tap, drain corrosion, replacement of fixtures). They came within two days of calling and Igor fixed all very quickly. Work was done in no time, with explanations on how to avoid issues in the future. Ended up getting a water softener installed as a result (which in the long run will save me a ton of money). Very happy with the service. Realized a year later that the outside pipes needed to run on a separate line (not through the softener), asked them to come back...no response. Used another local plumber for the job.

This has to be the fourth time I've used Pavlo and, as usual, he came through with flying colours. I find it such a relief to have him come by whenever we have a plumbing problem. In this case it was water gushing out of the laundry room floor drains while our washing machine was emptying. Pavlo is calm, very efficient, and he truly knows what he's doing. Also, I really appreciate the fact that he can explain exactly what the problem is and what's causing it in terms a layperson can easily understand. The problem this time was a collapsed section of clay pipe under our front lawn. Pavl fixed the problem temporarily on Monday, then his crew came by on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and replaced the twenty feet of clay pipe that ran between our outdoor backwater valve and the city line that runs under our neighbour's driveway. The end result: there is now new plastic pipe all the way from our house to the street. No more worries. You can always count on Pavlo. All this and a twenty-five year warranty. street and all this with a 25-year warranty.

My usual plumber was occupied so I looked through the Homestars listings for a suitable replacement. Drain1 looked promising. The guy who took the call was efficient and was able to book me in for a specific time that would work for my project, which was really helpful. My job was very simple: hooking up plumbing to a double sink (undermount), installing a faucet, and connecting a new dishwasher. The sink had been installed under the quartz countertop by the countertop installers. The cold and hot water pipes, plus the waste drain out, were in the right location, which simplified matters. So, a new set of PVC pipes to drain, installing an Ikea faucet, and connecting the waste hose from the dishwasher to the PVC drain. The work was fine; the price, $620, seemed steep. Obviously, at the end of a long kitchen renovation project I just wanted to get it done. As well, the booking guy didn't mislead me and tell me a bait and switch price (he didn't tell me any price - the plumber told me as he got into my house what the cost would be). But I do feel a bit taken - $620 for a little less than two hours work seems a bit steep to me. The quality of the work was good, and the plumber on site was diligent, conscientious, and kept the work are remarkably clean. All these things are admirable, thus the 8 rating above. One irritation beyond the price: I was told that they wouldn't secure the dishwasher to the cabinet. Yes, I could do it (and did when the plumber left). But I naively assumed the dishwasher install included the five minutes it took to screw the dishwasher to the cabinet. So it wasn't functional until I completed the install. Not a huge deal, but if I had been 80 years old, though, or unfamiliar with work like this, I would have paid to have a dishwasher installed and then not have it work.

Pavlo came out to give us a quote. We were looking to have a water source installed so we would cam hook it up to our new fridge for ice, water and coffee. He did that with ease, and explained the process in detail. He was very informative and did a very good job. He also fixed our garburator. Technologically advanced, can email receipts and pay by credit in your home. Fast, efficient and easy to work with.

We had a different plumber come in at first from one of the well known companies, but that guy completely botched the job. Our drain was leaking, the pipe work looked like a child's metal work project gone wrong, and the entire dry wall was destroyed. Paul and his team came in and completely fixed the situation. They re routed the pipes, adjusted the drain, and even offered a one year warranty on the work. When I saw the end result it was as if someone had waved a magic wand over our sink. Great work!

Paul and his team did an excellent job fixing the plumbing in the basement that was put in by a do-it-yourself handyman. I have lived with flooding and sponges for more than 20 years. In one week, they came and excavated and replaced the plumbing. Everything works well. Very happy with the result!

Pavlo was very clear about the work that needed to be done (unlike other contractors bidding on the job). He gave a competitive estimate. He explained when it would be done, and then did the work as proposed. High level of professionalism on the part of both plumbers involved. I would recommend Drain 1 to others.
