When I first read that Metro was merging all of the Appleseed removal sites into one, I was slightly concerned at how my service may be affected. To my delight, I ended up with a better service than in the past! The email updates directly from the owner and the notifications of when my plow driver was in my area were a great benefit. I NEVER had to call to follow-up on anything - I really appreciate the proactive service. I stopped by the office once with payment for myself and my parents (who went with Metro on my recommendation and were equally pleased!) and the staff was friendly, polite and so well-organized. I also enjoyed getting a chuckle out of the cute comics attached to the bottom on the emails. LOVE this company.

This was my third year with Appleseed/Metro. I don’t do reviews, but since this seemed to be the year for all sorts of complaints and misunderstandings about snow removal companies, I thought I’d voice my opinion. I too started out with all the wrong ideas. I thought you guys would do a job that equaled my shoveling and that first year I often finished the job by shoveling off the remaining half inch of snow left after your snow blowing. Then a neighbour asked why I bother, was I getting stuck or did I just want a bare driveway? I thought about that and realized that the purpose of having my driveway blown off was so I could get my car in and out of my garage when I needed. The winter was half over and I realized two things. I pretty much was able to get my car off my property whenever I wanted and second, a bare driveway was something I wanted, not something I needed. Sure, there a few times, usually on weekends, when I was planning on going somewhere, but the city plows came by and blocked me in. These were few and far between, so I had to wait for an hour or two, but realistically I couldn’t expect you to park a tractor at the end of my driveway just waiting for one of these circumstances. The bottom line was your service allowed me timely access to and from my garage all winter long for a fairly reasonable price and without damage to my lawn. PS: That half to three quarters inch of snow left on my driveway after each cleaning usually melted a few hours after the sun came out. We’ll be using you again next winter.

I am limited in shovelling snow. This is the third year with Ken Dale. The first two years his company was Appleseed, lthis past season he moved to Metro snow & ice mgmt. This company is prompt, service oriented, their drivers are friendly and courteous. You hear horror stories from other people. Ken Dale puts his customers first with emails updating clients where his drivers are and any delays that may be occurring. First time customers will be pleased as this company is reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Metro Snow to anyone looking.

First winter with Metro after Appleseed was sold. Prompt service; well cleared double lane and multiple same day service. New to me is the email communications giving us an approximate time window for snow removal - previous service was as impeccable as Metro. This last winter must have been brutal for Ken and his drivers often hearing them clear late evening or middle of the night. Work was done in a timely matter with always courteous service! I would definitely sign up with Metro again!

My first time to contract Metro and I will definitely do so again. Snow removal was very prompt, multiple times a day because the city plows came by and blocked the driveway. Well-mannered and diligent drivers were excellent at their job. I also appreciated that the owner sent emails to keep me informed of drivers' progress. Once the driver missed my driveway, shared with my neighbour who emailed to say we'd been missed. The signs were covered with snow! The driver returned to our street and cleared our driveways in 2-3 hours. I'm VERY satisfied with Metro in every regard.

I have been using this company for 6 years (formerly called Appleseed) and would not want to switch to anyone else - not even for a lower price. I always feel I am in good hands. Yes, this was a difficult winter, and there were 2 occasions during monster storms that I wished they had come sooner. But their overall track record tells me that they are dependable, and will show up as soon as humanly possible. In all my dealings with the staff - emails or phone calls - they have been courteous, respectful, and professional. Even when they broke a lamp, they came to fix it immediately, and made a note not to blow the snow in that direction. In my experience, they are genuinely concerned about providing the best possible service and keeping their customers happy - old fashioned values that are very important to me in choosing a company.

As a result of a heart attack in 2015 I had to hire a contractor to clear my driveway. I am very happy with the service provided for the last two winters by Metro Snow and Ice (formerly Appleseed). President Ken Dale provided early and frequent email updates on the timing of the snow removal and the follow up after city plows had left a windrow. We never had any problems getting out of our driveway. We had the same operator for both seasons and he was friendly, efficient, and courteous and respectful of the neighbours properties. This is the first year we have used Metro. Because of the diligence, timely removal of snow and informative client contacts on what to expect of the company for each snowfall, we have already resigned for next year. Keep up the great job!

For three winters this company has removed snow from my long driveway in an efficient and dependable manner. The tractor blower arrives soon after the city plows have cleared the street. The company issues timely e-mails to inform me about when the work will be done. Customer service is excellent.

This is my second season using a snow removal service and my first year with Metro. I was satisfied with my previous company but Metro has exceeded my expectations. Their communication is top notch. With every snow storm they send out an email with an outline on how they expect to handle it and when they expect to send the tractors out. I have some idea when they will make their first pass and when they'll be by to clean out the snow left from the city's plows. The tractors have GPS and I get an automatic notification when they're in the neighbourhood. That's particularly handy when I have to move a car out of the driveway before they arrive. Overall, I'm very happy with the service and would gladly recommend it to family, friends or neighbours.
