    Various repairs

    Samad arrived promptly, and maintained safety precautions throughout the call. He assessed the problems, and explained our options clearly: what could be done at this time, and what would be a bigger job, requiring another, future call. He offered several price options on the replacement fixtures. The repairs he performed (complete replacement of two old and leaky faucets with newer, higher-quality models) are entirely satisfactory, and I will request he be assigned to our future job as well. Samad was friendly, accommodating, and highly professional, inspiring confidence in his work and his judgement.

    Do Not Call Drain King!

    Called Drain King for a problem with my shower panel. I couldn't get the shower to turn off so I was desperate and had them come in. When I called I was told that if they came and gave me a quote and I didn't go ahead with the work the charge would be $90. This made me question how often they gave quotes that customers were not satisfied with, but I was desperate. The guy showed up and told me he had no idea how to fix a shower panel. Said it might be the cartridge, but had no idea where to find one, but if I found one he'd come back and replace it, but that I should probably just replace the whole panel and if I got a new one he'd come back and install it. I had clearly explained when I called that the problem was with a shower panel, so I am unclear why the company would send someone who started his assessment with "I don't know anything about shower panels" He gave me a quote to turn off the water at the shower. It needed to be done and I told him to go ahead. I had a couple other plumbing issues including a toilet fill valve that required replacing. The quote for replacing the fill valve was $304 for labour. At this point it was clear that along with not knowing what he was doing he was also going to to gouge me. I paid the $200 (the quote I was provided) to make the shower stop running and sent the guy on his way. I did some online youtube tutorials and figured out how to remove the old cartridge from my shower panel. I found the replacement on Amazon (under $30!) and replaced it. No new shower panel required! I did need a plumber for some other work and called in another company whose pricing was transparent and reasonable and they sent a knowledgeable plumber to complete the work. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT call Drain King. I will be following up this review with a glowing review for the other company.

We do provide free estimates during regular business hours so that our customers have the freedom to make a decision without having to pay a fee. Your request was outside of regular business hours and that's why you paid a fee for us to come out to provide an estimate. Firstly, if our estimates were over priced we would not be in business long providing them for free to our customers. The technician advised you that because there was no new way to tell what shower panel you had - that the time and materials to find and source the parts with no actual guarantee it would solve the problem would not be ideal. He recommended replacing the panel because the time and money put into sourcing and installing the part with no guarantee can often end up being more expensive than replacing the panel altogether. We had your best interest in mind every step of the way and feel you are missing the big picture here. Our technician wanted to provide you with a guaranteed solution as to not waste your time and money on some thing that was not a guaranteed fix. We feel your comments and review are a little bit harsh considering we did have your best interest in mind. At the end of the day we are happy your problem was solved.     Great service, on time, polite

    Our toilet would not stop running and the plastic valve was broken. They were very polite, on time. Installed a new toilet we had purchased and replaced the valve. Even fixed a problem the builder had left.

    Outside faucet replacement

    Just had a great experience with Samad from Drain King Plumbers. Replaced our leaking outdoor faucet super fast. Was very professional, polite and respectful when coming in the house. ( mask worn, boot covers ). Explained everything in detail before proceeding and made recommendations based on our needs. We will be using them again if needed and for sure recommending to friends and family.

    Toilet installation (2 toilets)

    The work was done to my satisfaction at the time and cost we agreed on. It wasn't a straightforward installation and Tyler had to do a couple of small repairs before. He explained exactly what he was doing and I'm very happy with the work he did.

    Shower faucet - low water pressure -site visit

    Tyler showed up on time and was very polite. The hot water shower pressure was low. I mentioned to him that I had replaced the cartridge but it didn't resolve the problem. He mentioned that the entire faucet needed to be replaced at $1300. I paid for the trip charge and considered my options. While speaking to my brother-in-law regarding contractors, he mentioned that it might be the balance pressure valve behind the cartridge as suggested by YouTube. Sure enough that was the fix and the cost of the part was $30. I am disappointed that this was not suggested or investigated by the hired professional. I paid trip charge with no results and ended fixing this myself. Drain King Plumbers has not responded and has not offered any adjustment to the visit.

After you mentioned that you had already replaced the cartridge and that you didn't think it would help he suggested replacing the entire shower faucet. The information provided to us while on site was that a cartridge replacement was already done. After you did more research on the matter you had realized that you did not actually replace the entire cartridge but rather a part of it. Your technician gave you his recommendations based on the information you provided at the time. If he was told while onsite that only part of the cartridge was replaced he would have made the cartridge replacement first priority.     Toilet Leak, Kitchen Sink Water Pressure, Shut off Valves

    Have used their services 2x this month and have been very happy - they have been very quick at responding to my request and sending a technician over - next day. The technicians were able to identify the problem quickly and provided several options to complete the job. All were professional and kind and willing to provide answers to all my questions. Thank you!

    Replace outside hose valve

    We needed to have the outside hose valve replaced as it was rusted on when we moved in and the existing hose leaked. Tyler came out and explained everything that he would be doing. He also let me know what the cost would be up front and told me what was required to keep the line working optimally forever. Tyler was friendly and very personable and worked in the scorching heat to get our outside water working. My wife is thrilled that she can easily water her gardens now! Thanks Drain King, and Tyler!

    Repair water line in backyard

    On May 21, 2021, forwarded the job request to HomeSatrs to repair the water line. DrainKing Plumbers office responded right a way to send the plumber in 2 hours to provide the reasonable estimate. Plumber Samad showed up in 2 hours, check the job site, provided the estimate and finish the job quickly, no waste of time. Samad was polite, knowledgeable and did a excellent job. I recommend highly DrainKing Plumbers and the plumber Samad for their excellent service. Shashi Bedi

    kitchen sink drain leak/drain clog/tub drain leak

    Drain King was referred to me by a trusted friend, but I also looked them up on HomeStars to find that they ranked high in customer service. I reached out to them for help addressing three different issues which unfolded unexpectedly at three different locations...! I dealt with ***three*** different individuals from Drain King, however, the experience with each was the same; exceptional. Tyler was professional and kind enough to forward before and after pics as I could not attend in person during the repair. He provided me with an estimate before commencing the work, and installed a new drainage for the kitchen sink. John was also professional and helped unclog a drain leaving no trace of debris after having to remove a toilet in order to use a snake. And, hats off to ***Jason*** who ultimately did not shy away from working in a cramped space above head to thoroughly investigate and successfully repair a leak coming from a tub drain. Thank you so much!!! Each of these jobs were repaired timely and at reasonable prices. A big thank you also to Alice in the Office for her warm reception with each of my calls! Good job Drain King... you definitely live up to your name ;) :)
