Reply created 16 Sep 2022We service hundreds of clients around Ottawa who love our service and have yet to encounter a client as unreasonable as this one. Unfortunately, Philip's expectations far exceeded the scope of work he was quoted for. After our soil vendor delivered the job material, we promptly showed up and completed the job according to the proper specifications. At the end of the job, our crew leader checked in with Philip and confirmed his satisfaction before wrapping up the day. Following job completion and final payment, Philip demanded a full refund for the entire job. He provided his reasoning as sub-par germination rates, and “not enough soil,” asking us bring in more than 5 times the amount of soil we quoted him for. We followed up with prompt action from our entire team to ensure accuracy of the estimated amount of soil, the estimate provided, and the billing. Furthermore, a site visit was conducted to verify the job was completed according to the proposal. After all was verified, we communicated right away and informed him that the soil quantity being requested was out of scope and, even if we were to proceed, it would bury the lawn, effectively killing it. Philip also failed to follow the seeding after-care instructions provided and pre-maturely mowed the lawn before claiming that there are no seeds on the ground. Despite all this, we offered him a complimentary seeding service as well as a reduction of his invoice in an effort to make things right. After accepting our remedial efforts, Philip still chose to leave a negative review on multiple platforms continuing to demand a full refund. We’ve made every effort to ensure Philip had a good experience with us, however, clearly this is a losing battle. We’ve worked hard to build and maintain the reputation we have and will continue to deliver top-notch experiences to numerous clients around Ottawa who love our service. - Hamza (Owner & Founder) | Ottawa Lawn Salon
