    Storm door installation

    Stephen installed our new full-view storm door. He was professional, respectful, on time and efficient in his work. I would definately recommend CNS work.

    Deck sanding and staining

    I very much appreciated the prompt and attentive phone calls to go over the project details before and throughout the work, which looks great. I also appreciated suggestions of other improvements that could be made, which I was not necessarily aware of. We had some differing ideas of what the entire project entailed based on the text in the quote and communications (ie upper and lower railings or just the inside of the upper deck vs the outer surfaces too), but we were able to come to a compromise for completion of all surfaces of the upper deck.

    from ladder to stairs

    I was frustrated with Sham's end product, I asked for stairs but he gave me a dangerous ladder. As a consumer of his service, I wanted it corrected, Home Stars could not help me get this Sham to produce an acceptable end product. I conceded to losing the $2500 as Home Stars cannot help me. By that time Stephen asked me to send a picture and stated that it is not safe to live with that ladder. In one afternoon, Stephen did the stairs. I am happy to have it and very grateful to have stairs from a dangerous ladder. Thanks Stephen.

    Bathoom

    Stephen from CNS renovated my master bath. He is aware of aesthetics and was able to make recommendations that worked with my vision. His problem solving skills are impressive and he didnt stop until he found a solution. Installing a new vanity with old plumbing is tricky as well as reinstalling the bidet. Stephen didnt stop until all issues were resolved. The bathroom is small, but due to his suggestions it feels bigger and looks beautiful.

    Structural reinforcement

    We appreciate how CNS was quick to get started and the price was reasonable. They demonstrated expertise and professionalism. An area that required improvement is that they made some decisions without consulting us. The decisions deviated from the engineering drawings and impacted the timeline to complete the work as agreed. Ultimately the deviations were corrected. It is important to us that contractors communicate any deviations with us so that we can understand the impact to our plan as well as the structural integrity of the house as it is semi-detached. In the end, CNS completed the work in good quality as agreed.

    Basement reno and exterior structural work

    We worked with CNS first on a basement renovation and next on a large exterior project which required a mix of masonry, structural work and deck building. Both projects were quite complex and we appreciated Stephen's attention to structural integrity and compliance with building code. His pricing was reasonable and transparent. He was also always willing to make time to discuss questions and concerns.

    Kitchen Project

    In Aug 2021, we contracted Stephen at CNS Custom Homes as our contractor to build out our kitchen project. The scope of the project was full demolition, flooring, cabinet install, plumbing, and finishing work. From the start to the end of the project, he was flexible, attentive, dedicated, and always cared about ensuring that we were satisfied clients. As far as the work throughout and end result, we are satisfied clients and would hire him again for future projects.

    Bathroom

    Stephen was quick to reply to my post. He was able to come within the week to complete our project. The project was to complete the washroom renos as I did not have time to do it myself. The drywall was up but needed to be mudded. Trim, vanity, plumbing and shower needed to be installed along with paint. Stephen was professional, detail oriented and communicated well through the small project.
