Basement Underpin January 2016
I searched a long time for a good underpinning company. I found it with Mud Monkeys. Darby is great and the whole team are always cheerful and do a great job. We had a hard to access basement with no driveway and small windows. Everything was done my hand and was done very clean and efficient. I barely knew these guys doing the job with how tidy the place was each night. I would recommend Darby and his team in a heart beat.

Underpinning-- EXCEPTIONAL COMANY
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with this company. Darby is amazing, every person on the team is a dedicated worker, and what you see really is what you get. From the first phone call to the last cleanup, the team that underpinned our 100+ year old house with only a super skinny sidewalk and one small window for access exceeded every expectation I had. Their attention to detail, their work ethic, and their completely positive attitude with each other made me wish I could hire them for every single renovation need! The team was kind to my young son, taking the time to answer his many questions. They were also conscientious about cleanup and their work was A++ at every step. Serious pride in what they do, and in doing it right, and in attention to detail. Darby came to the rescue when one of our other trades bailed on us, and was always wiling to take the time to speak with us about any questions we had. I have been involved in a number of renovation projects, and I have never seen a team work together in such a cooperative way with such great work ethic. And the work they do is top-notch. You will be glad you hired them, I doubt you could find any team to do it better at any price. I am still amazed that they did it all by hand, and got the entire basement's worth of dirt out one small window. My front garden and trees were not disturbed in the least and I am so glad we did not have to rip out front porch off to get down into the basement. These guys are genuinely concerned about you and about doing their job well. A+++

Foundation Waterproofing
Darby from the Mud Monkeys was super helpful with our basement water proofing job. The cost was in line with other estimates but the Mud Monkeys (apart from the cool name) excel with customer service. Darby was always quick to respond to my e-mails. My foundation work occurred late last year and so the sidewalk work (done by Otto's - also a great company) had to wait until this spring and over the course of the winter the level of the gravel around the foundation had dropped in spots. All it took was one phone call and Darby and his crew came that day and topped it up in preparation for the new sidewalk. Very easy to work with and he sent me pictures along the way to show me the progress of the job. Great Work! Highly recommended!!

Basement Leak
I had a leak in my basement (somewhere in the foundation). I own an older house (1920 - 1930s) in Toronto. A lot of companies refused to even look at the problem. Mud Monkeys did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. The crew was very quick and cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommend!

Excavation and lower level of basement by 2 feet (no underpin)
This is the second home and second time mud monkeys has lowered my basement. As far as contractors go, Darby and his crew are an absolute dream to work with. They keep the site very clean, manage everything perfectly and conduct themselves professionally. Customer satisfaction is their first priority and I highly reccomend going with them for any services they provide.

BASEMENT UNDERPINNING
Simply outstanding! the team that worked on our property were timely, efficient, very knowledgeabke, extremely polite and helpful. They ran into a few problems, solved the problems effectively, and stayed on budget. The work site was always clean, safe and well organized. They also helped us with an unexpected issue that required some extra time and expense which had nothing to do with them. Tehe business owner kept his team on call for us while we worked through this unique situation. The overall end result was a beautiful job that maximized the size of the basement accessory apartment which is an essential element of this property. I would recommend this company to anyone considering a complete basement underpinning. They are a class act and know how to make hard work fun. Many thanks Peter and Bonnie

Basement Exterior Waterproofing
Working during one of the coldest steaks of the 2015/2016 winter, The Mud Monkeys rectified out leaky basement issues quickly, thoroughly, and professionally. We were given 2 repair scenarios to waterproof the basement of our 120+ year old Victorian row house, interior or exterior. We opted for exterior ensuring a more permanent solution. The project manager detailed the process step by step on how they would tackle the rock foundation wall. Mud Monkeys are well suited and experienced to execute creatively and efficiently on old homes that possess less than traditional building structures. The team was friendly, respectful and careful. After the completion of the project, Mud Monkey's has maintained contact with us, verifying the work and our satisfaction along with a onsite follow up to top up soil and gravel during the Spring thaw. I would not hesitate to hire The Mud Monkey team in future if the need arises. Our basement is 100% dry since completion of the work while being tested by heavy rain and snow. We are confident that our home will remain that way as long as its standing. : )

Basement Renovation
There was a flood. Then Mud Monkeys came in and guided me through what was a terrifying and important renovation. They worked beautifully in tandem with the plumbers and an engineer to tear out and dig out the basement, replace the structural columns, install Delta Membrane, pour a beautiful new floor, and even made sure that the floor under the furnace was replaced. Every step of the way, I felt supported. No question was too small or too silly to ask. I really trust my home with them.

Bench/Underpin - Full Basement Reno.
Echoing all of the reviewers here. Found Darby and the team through this site and some referrals. Upon meeting Darby and having him walk-through the work that we needed done (complete dig of the basement lowering, bench, underpinning under stairs, water-proofing/weeping tile, sump pump, HVAC relocation, etc) it's quite clear the Mud Monkey team has done this many times before. Took them around 3 weeks to complete all the work and throughout the job, they communicated progress/next steps daily, kept a spotless work-site inside/out and we didn't even know they were down there working away half the time! I would highly recommend Darby and the team to anyone doing this type of work, especially in homes like ours -- old, semi-detached, with issues only a professional should deal with.

Foundation Underpinning and waterproofing
This is the second time I've hired Darby and his crew from Mud Monkeys to do foundation work on my house. I was incredibly happy to discover the company still in business since our first job with them over 15 years ago, and happy to call them again. Darby still has guys from the original crew working for him and that tells you something. The work was completed to my satisfaction and Darby, as always, was calm and easy to work with. I'll hire them a third time if I decide to buy another old house.
