    External Waterproofing

    We had Mud Monkeys do some waterproofing for us and what a great experience. Over the years we have used many contractors for various projects and without a doubt, Darby and the folks at Mud Monkeys are fantastic! It is rare when employees never say an unkind word about the work, the company they work for or their boss. A true indicator of a compnay that cares for its staff and obviously treats them well. The work itself wsa done on-time and on-budget. What was really great for us was that they were actually able to work underneath part of our deck allowing us to always have access and no need to disrupt the decking materials. Daily the work site was left clean, tidy and safe. At the end of the job, yes we had some clean-up to do but this is to be expected considering the volume of dirt they dug, the loads of gravel and the dirt they put back. While it isn't great to have to spend money on something you don't "see", we are comforted to know that water coming into our basement is now a thing of the past. Thanks to all the good folks at Mud Monkeys! Oh, we found Mud Monleys on HomeStars and reading reviews and for sure we would recommend them in a heartbeat.

    Waterproofing Basement

    Darby, Nick, et. al. handled all of our communications in a courteous and professional way - including prompt responses by phone or e-mail - from my original enquiry through to the completion of the job. Darby provided estimates both for waterproofing my basement form the inside, and from the outside. I elected to go with the external approach, including excavation, installation of weeping tile; appropriate barriers and back-fill with gravel. The job was completed as scheduled, to spec, and clean-up was good. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

    Foundation Waterproofing

    Darby Braun of Mud Moneys was highly recommended by people I trust, and Darby more than lived up to his reputation. Darby is a good man who follows through on his word, fulfills on his commitments, and treats your wallet as if it were his own. Darby's crew was knowledgeable, hardworking and considerate of me and my property as they waterproofed my foundation. Shortly after they began work they realized that my foundation did not need as much work as I had originally believed, and they brought it to my attention immediately, which resulted in me paying less than half what I had initially been quoted. Their work was high quality and their hard work and honesty is unique and much appreciated. I highly recommend Darby and his great crew.

    Water proofing

    Darby offered a similar quote than others, and made sure we were comfortable through the whole process, calling everyday to say what had been done and if there were any surprises. There was a leak that followed the fix and he responded immediately to the concern, figured out what the issue was made an additional repair. No problems since. He also recently followed up with a call to make sure there were still no problems a month later. I would recommend this company. I was so impressed that I joined homestars to be able to leave this! He is very personable and takes his work and customers seriously.

    Basement waterproofing

    I used Mud Monkeys approximately 4 years ago following a massive and devestating flood in my basement which revealed ongoing seepage issues and structural issues with my foundation. Darby was so wonderful and kind and professional, especially at a time when I was pretty upset. The work his crew did was fantastic. It involved repairing the concrete, installation of a new weeping tile, and waterproofing. I also had Darby install an internal weeping tile system for another part of the basement. It held up during these most recent floods. I had absolutely no seepage in the part of the basement waterproofed by Darby and his team. I did have flooding, but it came from other sources, and when we took out the walls, the other contractors commented on the high quality of work done by Mud Monkeys. I was told they had used the highest quality barriers and insulation. I really do recommend Mud Monkeys. I would trust them with anything.

    Waterproofing

    Had some waterproofing work done in 2002 by Mud Monkeys. In about 2005 had some water issues and called Darby. He had his crew put some cement around where the wall joins the patio stones. After the winter most of it had chipped off. I called and he came and looked and said he would get back to me. He didn't and I continued to have moisture issues. I called again. Darby said it was an issue with where the footings were and the issue wasn't covered in the lifetime guarantee. He said he would get back to me with a solution and a quote. He didn't. It was frustrating chasing him about this. I have given up and I'm having the work done again. That's why I thought I'd post this now. The follow through was terrible. The new crew have now dug up the work Mud Monkeys did 11 years ago and found no membrane but just about 3 mm plastic and cement board!! The cement board was mouldy. It seemed to be covering a gap where the parging ended but it wasn't sealed and the wood frame of my house is rotten. I'm really not happy.

    Hi Jennifer sorry we disappointed you I have been in Calgary for two weeks and did not receive your phone call. I did tell you what I believe needs to be done at this point and that is internal waterproofing. To defend our selves I did come back each time you called, the first time we removed the patio-stones that now have come higher than the foundation wall itself due to re-landscaping and applied concrete board onto the framing of the house. Then we applied our tar and plastic to the wall to extend our waterproofing. I also see the new contractor you hired was not fond of our 6 millimetre poly and thought we should of installed delta-membrane. We don't use delta-membrane externally because of how it has to fastened by screws or nails through your old brick foundation. We have used the same treatment for 23 years and the system works. Again I am sorry we disappointed you if dampness continues in your rear walk down we would come back to do something internal to control the moisture near the floor. Thanks Darby

    Interior waterproofing and new concrete floor

    We have a 100 year old home that had damp basement walls and a very uneven and cracked concrete floor. Darby and his team removed the old floor, excavated out 6 inches of soil, replaced the soil with gravel and then installed a membrane and weeping tile system to manage the moister on the walls. They then poured a new concrete floor. From start to finish, Darby and his team did an excellent job. Darby was very quick to answer questions prior to construction and was excellent communicating with me throughout the process. His team is courteous and friendly and made sure to keep us abreast of the progress. I have already recommended the Mud Monkey's to one friend, and will do so again when the opportunity arises.

    External Waterproofing

    Mud Monkeys provided exceptional service form beginning to end. They were patient and knowledgeable in helping us to identify our needs and in developing a plan. They communicated with us regularly and were thoughtful and very fair in fixing minor problems that came up during the job. They exceeded our expectations.     foundation waterproofing

    Mud Monkeys have worked for me on 2 homes on 3 separate, occasions and each time they have delivered high quality work, on on time, and at the price agreed. Highly recommended!

    Waterproofing

    We have had Mud Monkeys do 2 waterproofing jobs for us - one on the outside, fixing up a botched job from another contractor, and one on the inside to install drainage in the basement. They are highly competent and professional, they stay on time and budget, and leave the work area clean. They go above and beyond in lots of ways, and are very responsive. Thank you Darby!
