We had Ted and his team completely re-do our front yard: ripping out the old lawn, putting in stone steps and a pathway, a new set of front stairs, planting beds with groundcovers and hedges. Ted was professional and pleasant to work with, and the project turned out amazing! He was helpful in leading us to stonework choices that would stay in our budget, and handled the tree permits. We get so many compliments! I would definitely work with Ted again. I will add pictures in the spring when all this snow is gone!

Our backyard was an overgrown, weedy mess. We contacted a number of landscapers for quotes, but Ted was the only one who was a pro from beginning to end. He's responsive, he listens and works within budget and timeline. He transformed our backyard into a beautiful, highly functional space that we now enjoy year-round. - Built a perimeter fence and gate - Ripped up and disposed of existing concrete slab/partial driveway - Installed large stone patio and walkway - Built deck with garden seating bench - Laid sod - Enclosed the underside of our porch to provide more storage room Ted provided professional drawings and constant communication throughout the process. This was by far one of the best contractor experiences that we've ever had. Ted was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

Ted was recommended to us by my sister-in-law. We hired him to help us clean up a virtual jungle in our backyard. He provided a vision and transformed our yard into a clean, kid friendly, grassy play space. Ted worked with us to create a plan that we could afford and that made sense for our current lifestyle. He was responsive, his team was professional and they clearly take pride in their work. I highly recommend him and we will use him again.

Ultimately he wasn't the cheapest, but we choose Ted for this project because his design and vision were well beyond anything else we had seen. You could feel his passion when he spoke about his craft and we knew we could trust he would deliver. Like any project of this size, we had our share of hiccups, but nothing worth mentioning. The team did incredible work, kept a tidy work area and were genuinely nice people. Ted was not always onsite, but was available day or night whenever we need to go over anything. We were extremely happy with the outcome of our yard, not only would we use him again, but we have and would recommend him to anyone.

We used Hobson to do our front walkway. Ted made the whole process very easy. He had great ideas, was flexible when things needed to change, showed up when he said he would and got the job done in the timeframe and for the price he had committed to. His team was wonderfully polite and kept the worksite clean. Overall they left me with the feeling that they genuinely care about what they do and about doing it right. They really exceeded my expectations… and having just completed a whole home reno I can tell you that is something I never thought I’d say about a contractor! We will be calling them when it is time to do our backyard and highly recommend them.

Our new home needed a complete exterior overhaul. We needed a new backyard deck, patio, fence, front yard walkway, porch and garden beds. Ted met with us numerous times before the project began to map out the design choices and cost. His patience and ideas allowed us to imagine the end product. We are really impressed with the fact that Ted and his crew took the time to make sure the job was done to perfection. Both the stone work and wood work were amazing. Each person on his team was willing to answer questions and seemed to genuinely want to make sure we had the best outside space possible.

Our existing retaining wall that ran across the front of our property was failing and we needed a replacement. We also needed the driveway re-done. I found Ted through his website when I was looking for a company that could do natural stone retaining walls. The pictures of a Wiarton natural stone wall that he designed and constructed in front of a home in the east end of the Toronto immediately impressed me as something different and beautiful. Add to that Ted's great rating on HomeStars, and I knew that I should have him give me a quote. To my delight, his price was slightly below the two estimates that I had already received from two other larger contractors - and their estimates were for walls constructed from manufactured landscaping walls and not natural stone. When I met Ted, I found myself very pleased to be dealing with the owner and creator of his work rather than just an estimator. It didn’t take me long to determine that he was the contractor that I wanted to do the work. It was a great choice. The job is now done. Ted was very easy to work with throughout and his crew were equally pleasant. The job is done and looks great. Ted achieved what I was looking for and yet could not have come up with myself - something just a little different from what we see all around us. This is just what we wanted in an old Toronto neighborhood where much of the charm is the way in age has resulted in character and diversity. We have received many complements from neighbors and strangers alike. In fact, we have seen numerous people stop and admire Ted’s work just walking by the house. We had a deteriorating set of stairs leading up to our house that finally had enough after last winter and decided to have them replaced rather than patched. We got in touch with Ted because our neighbours were having their stairs and front completely relandscaped and quouted for both for a possible discount. Our neighbours went with another company for their needs but we went with Ted and his crew. After a few missed starts due to scheduling Ted's crew arrived and removed the old stairs which were poured cement... we decided to go with slab stairs instead this time and we are very happy. Hobson landscapes worked fast, were courteous and came in right on quote. We look forward to many years of use on our new stairs instead of the embarassment of the chipping, pitted old ones. We had 16 stairs and a top landing replaced.

Ted created a basement living space for our home combining our design goals with the constraints of budgets and permits. He walked us through the details and plans step by step, his crew were on time and always cleaned up at the end of each day. In the end, Ted managed to create for our family, a basement that is beyond our expectations! We previously worked with Hobson Landscapes on a back yard project, and I would highly recommend Hobson Landscapes for home renovations as well.

Excellent experience working with Hobson Landscapes. Ted was recommended to us by a neighbor and we definitely made the right choice in selecting Ted for the job. We worked through a design that achieved the goals for the limited space, including a patio and installation of turf and plants. Ted recommended plants for privacy and good cover of our fence. Ted's team are a great bunch of guys who are on time and who clean up the site at the end of each day.
