Bill was referred to me by a workmate and I am glad a made the call to Basements by Ballantyne. Talk about a painless renovation. It's not easy to find a professional that puts as much into his work as Bill does. I was amazed at how Bill went the extra mile in both materials and time to do the job right. I think it helps that Bill does most of the work himself and therefore does not have to rely on other contractors putting as much effort into the job as he does. I can honestly say I am 100% satisfied with Bills work. If you are looking to have your basement finished right, worry free, on budget and with no surprises (other than amazing work) than call Bill at Basements by Ballantyne.

I originally contacted Bill a year before we started the job. When I asked him to come back a year later and re-quote there was almost no change in the estimate. Bill kept the job clean, the noise to a minimum and on schedule. He made helpful suggestions to enhance the final product and finished the work on time and on budget. The work Bill did in my basement has made it the nicest room in my house and I would recommend him to my friends.

With 3 growing boys, and the need for a dedicated home office for my husband, we were quickly outgrowing our house. Moving was an option, but we really felt that we were not maximizing the space that we already had. So we decided to call Bill and see what could be done with our basement. After looking at our “wish list”, and offering some additional suggestions, Bill provided us with a concept drawing, which gave us a great visual of the end result, as well as a detailed estimate that we could use as a “shopping list”, allowing us to easily make adjustments and prioritize features according to our budget. Throughout the project, I was very impressed with Bill’s attention to detail and quality workmanship. Quality was never sacrificed for the sake of a timeline. Bill was able to look at some of the design “challenges” of our basement and offer suggestions to deal with them. Everything was done with an eye to making the basement seem less of a “basement” and more an extension of our house. We now have a spacious office, a beautiful washroom, and a large comfortable home theatre area where we can enjoy spending time together as a family. We are thrilled with our new space. Bill, thanks for making our first renovation experience, a pleasure. We are delighted with the result.

We hired Bill to finish our basement at our Newmarket home; we now have a Family Room, Office and an unfinished Laundry/Furnace room. Not only is our basement now the most beautiful area in our entire house but it is also the best built area in our new upscale Greenpark home! We have never met a more professional, knowledgeable builder. From the consultation we knew Bill was the guy for the job. After listening to what we needed he provided us with a 3D CAD drawing of what our basement would look like once completed and a very detailed contract. We were always able to make changes and Bill had lots of amazing suggestions. We were on a tight budget but Bill was able to help make sure that the project was affordable for us. He was great at suggesting what we could cut back on and where it was important that we spend the extra money. He really goes above and beyond a typical builder. His work reflects his passion for his job and you can tell all his projects big and small are very important to him. The electricians he used were also friendly, reliable and professional. Bill was so clean and organized that at the end of the day it was hard to imagine there was any type of renovation happening (except for the ever changing basement). We had a 3 month old baby in the house and never once were we concerned with any stage of the project (Bill also has some good parenting tips!). If anything Bill saved us by locating a faulty wire bringing our main power source into our home, preventing our house from burning down. We would and have recommended Bill for any basement projects. Bill completed the project in a timely fashion and within the timeframe he had advised from the beginning. In the end he provided us with a disc of pictures of the project for future reference and of course to show all our friends. He was a pleasant visitor in our home and his basement will provide us years of happiness and pleasure for our little family.

Bill has completed major and minor projects for me over a span of 25 years. He has wide range of knowledge and expertise in building trades. He has done roof repairs to basement renovation. He is pleasant and efficient. He was always straight forward if a particular project was not in his comfort level. He would then direct us to a qualified person.I know he is always very busy, if you can get to your project, you are fortunate.

It is with great pleasure that we tell you about our experience of having our basement finished during the spring of 2006. From the first time we met Bill until the day his team left the finished job it was unbelievable. Bill’s soft spoken meticulous manner was evident from day one. The job started and finished on time and Bill, Bernie and Bill’s boys were a delight to have in our home. Extremely courteous and always very polite they worked cheerfully and diligently each day leaving the job sight clean and tidy each night. They are knowledgeable in their craft and particular to detail. We now have an extension of our living space that is cozy, comfortable and great for family time. Contracted Bill Ballantyne twice; once for a complete reno (fireplace, french doors, weight room, family room, bedroom and ensuite bath; and once for family room with built-ins for big screen, stereo and storage. Bill was a joy to have in our home; he is ethical, honest and very talented. He was on budget and on schedule (how many times can you say that?)and his work was impeccable. He solved problems easily and never complained. Truly the consummate professional. I would not hesitate to recommend him very very highly.

I hired Bill to renovate my basement in December 2005. Two years later, I still couldn't be more pleased. Bill exceeded my expectations in every sense. Our experience from first contact to project completion was exceptional. Bill's expertise helped us develop a funtional and elegant basement design. The project was completed on time and at the price quoted at the start of the project. The workmanship was exceptional each step of the way. Bill even went with us to pick out carpet and tiles. Bill follow-up upon completion to see if there were any deficiencies. This type of service and committment to customer satisfaction is hard to find. We would highly recommend Basements by Ballantyne anytime and would certainly use them again.
