Last fall we hired Craig (CB Trees) to remove one tree and prune and cable a second tree. They did everything except cable the second tree. After about 10 phone calls and 3 or 4 promises to complete the work, they still have not finished the job -- 5 months later!!! Never again... **** In response to the company's reply, the above review was fully vetted by Homestars before they allowed the review to be posted. That included sending them a photo of the invoice we received during the initial consultation. To Craig: as of today the job is not completed as per the agreed upon contract. You can dispute this review as much as you'd like, but we have a contract on CB Tree letter head with a detailed description of the job that was to be completed, and it is signed by you. ***** re: Craig's 2nd comment: Craig, one of two things is possible here: either you are blatantly botching the facts about the cabling job, or you have a serious memory problem. I find it hard to believe you've forgotten all three phone conversations where you promised to return to finish the cabling within the week. The contract you signed doesn't stipulate it is an estimate, but does indicate it is a legally binding contract. Perhaps you should consider being more professional and honest with your customers in the future.

Love these guys, they work safe, price is reasonable. They clean up after the job was completed, even help me moved some lumber to my third floor. They do a lot of work in the Annex (many old trees). Already recommended them to few of my builder friends. Great honest work.

When a large tree branch landed without any warning onto the deck chair my father had just vacated, I knew we were lucky, but needed help. I had hired another tree company last summer to deal with a branch on another tree dangling from a winter storm. They had instruction last year to survey the trees on the property and do whatever needed to be done to keep the trees healthy and strong. I wrongly assumed the trees should be good for at least a year and they had looked at them all for any problems. Sadly, it turned out I was wrong. Impressed by his companies reviews I decided to try Craig this time. Our job was located a bit outside his usual service area, but he took it on. I met him at my father's house to discuss the plans. He was knowledgeable and seemed to share my father's love of his trees. Craig had novel solutions for problems with some other trees, and pointed out damage in areas I had not spotted. All the many trees on the property were left stronger and healthier when Craig and his team left. Everything was cleaned up well. My father was very pleased with the work. I am confident there are no more dangerous trees on his property.

We have a huge Manitoba Maple in back whose lower branches are 2’ wide and travel 25’ horizontally before turning upwards 30' (and every which way). Last week the limb shown in the picture peeled itself off the tree by about 1” which was enough to lower it 3’ down onto our shed. The shed held it at first, but given that the limb and the branches that grew out of it weighed *thousands* of pounds, it was only a matter of time before gravity won and our shed would be splinters. (See 1st photo.) We had worked with Craig before and called him immediately. He was in the middle of a job but came over in the afternoon with steel support posts to stabilize the limb and make sure it didn’t descend any further. (See 2nd photo.) While waiting I trimmed off as many other branches as I could reach from the ground with a pole-saw, but there is only so much trimming it is sensible for an untrained person like myself to take on. In addition to the enormous weight of the branch and the fact it was in the process of detaching from the trunk (but needing to be scaled to remove the higher branches), removal was further complicated by a young tree and 3 bushes below it that would need to be avoided as the branches came down. Craig and his crew showed up the very next day to plan the removal, setup their safety rigging, and carefully turn the limb into (very very big) logs. Our tree and bushes got pushed around a bit during removal but all were fine at the end of the day. And our shed survived without so much as a cracked shingle! Craig has a wealth of experience with tackling challenging jobs like ours (though I’m sure he’d be happy to take on your simple jobs too)! He charges very fair prices to get the job done right.

After recent strong winds, one of my backyard tree was broken and was leaning to the next one. When I found out, it was already Firday night. I text Craig in the evening and he immediately respond and promised to visit the next day. On Saturday morning, I took photo of the broken tree and sent to Craig. He managed to visit my house at around 11:30 am. He quickly surveyed the damage and suggested to take down both trees. And he said his team can come in the afternoon. Without hesitation, I agreed with his estimation. Craig and his team appeared at my door step at 2 pm that afternoon. In a few hours of hard work, those 2 trees were taken down properly, and also trimmed the substantial limbs off another mature tree that were overhang my house. The wood were cut to right size for fire wood. All of the debris were cleaned up, leaving the yard absolutely spotless. They were extremely friendly and professional. I highly recommend CB Tree Experts. If you need any tree work to be done properly, please do not hesitate to use CB's service.

Found CB Tree Service on HomeStars, sent service request and got reply the next day. Craig was very friendly and honest on the pricing. Very reasonable price for the work and time. The team was very professional and they are serious about their work. The team did an excellent job on removing the trees and outstanding job on the clean up. My backyard looks so welcoming now. I am very please with CB Tree. Thank you Craig and the team!

We hired this company after receiving a very resonable on site quote and the job was completed only a few days later with professional and friendly service. I would use this company again if I need this type of service and have already recommended them to a family member.

Craig came today and trimmed a very tall juniper..he was amazing, knew how to correct and trim this tree...did this by himself..still in awe of his workmanship..his quote fair even thought it might have been too low .so added a tip..highly recommend this guy

Craig responded in person to our phone call on a late Friday evening after a storm. He visited and gave estimate following morning. He and his team took care of the problem and also cleared a lot dead wood and other offending branches. They cut up the branch to use as firewood and cleaned up thoroughly. We were very happy with the job very well done.

I found my young cat Vinny up on a tree, after looking for hours. He was up about 30 to 40 feet, begging for help. I called animal control, and they recommended CB tree service. Craig came right away. I found Craig to be very polite and caring. It was a very difficult job climbing up that tree, but he took his time talking to my cat, Vinny was listening, and he knew Craig was there to help him. Craig saved my Vinny.
