My experience working with contractors usually leaves a little more to be desired. Often, you'll find they'll show up late, have poor communication, disappear once complete, things of that nature.
That wasn't the case when I worked with Gerry's!
I was completely blown away firstly by their communication. After the first call, they sent their rep Jason to drop by the next day to provide a quote and to evaluate the job. I really felt like I wasn't being oversold on the job, either - the siding ended up having to be completely redone, but I could tell Jason was very conscientious as to whether anything could be left as is for the time being and to instead focus on areas of contention, which was much appreciated. We opted to replace the entire thing as they offer a lifetime warranty on their work, so I liked the protection that offered. He was very thorough in evaluating problem areas, and took the time to explain what could have caused the damage and where the original installation may have gone wrong. I never felt in the dark about the work that goes into the trade, and had all my questions answered. I felt very informed about what work needed to be done.
After the siding had arrived in-store and shortly before installation, we had another visit from Greg, who stopped by to evaluate the project before work began. This was a nice touch that really solidified my confidence that the work would be done well as the level of detail and thought put into it before the project had even started was impressive. He again walked me through the work that they were going to do, finalized a few details, and ensured I was fully onboard and understood all the information regarding the project.
The installation matched the level of professionalism I had experienced thus far.
I was so surprised to have Fred and Allen to show up everyday at the exact same time every morning to start work. It was never a question of when the work would start that day like I had experienced with other contractors - they were very punctual and very professional. Being able to predict the schedule was a definite plus.
They did an excellent job making sure the siding was properly installed, and they were quite quick about it, too.
When there was an additional issue found around the windows, they didn't hesitate to run it by me first and see what I wanted to do. They and Jason had quickly prepared a quote for me to weigh my options which made making a decision that much easier. It ended up working out way better getting the additional work on the windows, as our upper floor rooms are now more soundproof and retain the temperature much better.
Finally, once the job was complete, I was pleased to get a call from Greg informing me that he would again be stopping by to go over the work that had been done to ensure it was up to his standard. Quite a nice little touch, as I had expected that once the work was done, I wouldn't see them again unless there were issues!
On his inspection, he was very thorough - he went so far as to send a few of his team later on in the week to clean up some hand prints left on the siding from the installation, and to sweep the perimeter of any debris that may have been left behind. He also made note of a small area where the floors connected that he got his team to seal. All around, it was nice to feel like they really take pride in their work and have a very high standard when it comes to their definition of a "job complete."
Overall, this has been a great experience and I would gladly recommend Gerry's Roofing to anybody who needs work done!
